  1. and sometimes one has to do whatever it takes to survive. IF someone is trying to turn your car over, or breeches the passenger compartment it is reasonably assumed that your life is in danger and come what may, I'm driving off and if someone is injured then that is really on their accomplices. If it turns out bad, well that's life but staying there is not an option.
  2. There needs to be a law that makes for penalties to impede traffic with protests. Also in this case, retribution for damages and court costs if acquitted.
  3. Andrew Branca has addressed this several times recently. One, I would never(well never say never) consider my vehicle as my weapon. It would be my method of avoidance and/or escape. One must avoid the possiblility of disabling the vehicle which would include turning it over. Don't worry about traffic laws. Having someone stand or beat on your car is NOT justification to use deadly force. If you compartment is violated, doors yanked open, window broken out, etc., then deadly force would/should be an option. Try moving slowly through a crowd to minimize getting into that situation. Blowing you horn may aggravate the crowd, so use your own judgement. If you can articulate your concern for your safety and your escape then hopefully that will justify any possible legal jepordy, but your legal risk is never '0'. Avoidance is always the best policy.
  4. A hellcat is a nice option. Will probably replace my shield eventually. Also with the mini optics becoming available, they are nice. I've shot one and really like it. Additionally, I try to always carry pepper spray. Much more likely to need less-than-lethal force. Not every problem needs a hammer, and neither do you want to go hands on if it can be avoided; many bad things can happen at that point. Even in a closed space, much preferable to bullets.
  5. so are you supporting any of the pro gun groups?
  6. Great experience from an icon in the instructor world. Money well spent and you have to perform. Won't be a 'gimme' , not everyone gets a trophy.
  7. join NRA....they are on the front lines everyday so you can enjoy any of the shooting sports. When the other side quits trying to politically take your guns, the NRA can give it a rest as well.
  8. https://www.tn.gov/safety/tnhp/handgun/reciprocity.html As we know, the ECP is a bare minimum standard. OK, but not perfect. The CCP is a farce. No gun handling and no shooting to be graded. Simply dangerous IMO. I have instructed many new shooters both in formal classes as well as informally. Many have no business carrying a firearm. Too many get TV confused with reality.
  9. If hunting waterfowl one will still need the federal duck stamp. This will include early goose and wood duck season
  10. had a couple of people in my carry class Sat. that had the CConly permit. Saw the errors of their way and getting the ECP now.
  11. Hate I missed it. Had to sub in for a carry class....maybe next time.
  12. Now the two to the chest one to the head works well with paper. Practically speaking, how easy do you think that head is going to be hit after the BG reacts to the sight of a gun and the impact of the first two rounds? Also if you are backing up creating distance? Just saying two to the triangle first may be the best option.
  13. "They say", but that has not been my experience with 2 EZ in 9mm. Ran perfectly. New shooter one holed 5 shots at 5 yds with the last one shot.
  14. thanks, just scored the 407c v2 . OP backordered until who knows when. Good price.
  15. Can you share from where?
  16. Correct....but then again I'm not that hard on my equipment. AFAIK, RMR is your only American choice.
  17. I have seen front sights come off, fiber optics break as well. Have experienced front and rear sights loosening and shifting as well. Murphey's Law alive and well.
  18. nice wall......!!
  19. I bet i've tried 5 or 6 different brands of .280 and this is the load I settled on as well. As a side bar, I bought for friends a .270 and a '06. Mounted scopes, did a break in, and shot multiple brands in both of those guns. Both shot the Cor Lok the best. Bought 10 boxes of same lot numbers and lived happily everafter.
  20. I don’t reload 280. I’ve tried various brands of ammo and routinely Remington Cor Lok has been the most accurate and of course easy to find.
  21. Will try and make this.....looks like a good time for a rental car
  22. bore snake, hoppes, hornady One Shot clean and Lube. Old T shirt.
  23. I will only add this one additional post. I have been involved in healthcare for almost 50 years. I know people who have personally been on the front lines watching people die of Covid in NY. It is not pleasant, and it is real. I do get a lot of medical journals and updates daily. This is all a new virus and is a learning experience for the brightest and best medical minds in the world. Buying time to fight the enemy is a positive.......hence wear a mask. Being ignorant is everyone choice to make. Not being scared has doing to do with catching the virus or not. I have read of many cases of healthy individuals dying. My owning firearms, or any of my politcal beliefs have nothing to do with this virus as well; the virus is scared of neither.
  24. As a PA who sees patients everyday, I believe I will trust the science and articles I receive daily to guide my safety and practice. You may rely on whatever you feel gives you the best chance for your safety.
