Firearm Safety Reminder (Graphic Warning But Totally Check It Out)
chances R replied to GlockSpock's topic in General Chat
very common practice with trap shooters......if done, always with the action locked back, or a break action gun open. Both done with an unloaded gun. -

your mix would be a good late season dove load, or early pheasant load. -
Status of "Constitutional Carry" in TN.
chances R replied to Worriedman's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Off the top of my head, No Reciprocity with other states. If an employee of a state public university, have to have the ECP. Would expect private schools to continue to require ECP policies. There may be some issue with 'guns in trunk' law, will have to see how that shakes out. I have heard that Const. Carry may not be allowed in National Parks. Lot to learn and differentiate by July 1. -
Having taken several legal seminars as well as subscribing to Branca, there has always been a designation between force and deadly force. Would not trust the language in this bill as it is written to include deadly force unless specified.
-
I've shot enough to wear out a Rem 1100 and a Benelli SBE, as well having to replace a locking bolt on a Browning O/U. The pumps mentioned are good guns and will last a long time. For my money I would go with the Benelli SBE II. It will be versatile and with a 26" barrel be suitable for all the clays games as well as birds, to include turkeys.

worriedman brought up HB0025 in the Const. Carry discussion. I have read the summary to that bill. It is my understanding that this only covers "force", which is different than "deadly force" and therefore has little bearing on the situation if one uses a firearm in self-defense. If that is the case, an Amendment would be in order to include "deadly force".

Guess we will disagree...

Yes, something as important as life and death you are going to learn at the library....just like learning to fish at the library. Unrealistic
-
Unfortunately not all have that resource, especially in single parent families. Basic firearm safety would be an excellent exposure. We have the scholastic shooting teams, wouldn't be a stretch to do a little safety series.
-
OF COURSE, ends with people interference. Wild boar are an exotic, environmentally damaging creature that the Park Service tries to control and eliminate. Smoky is simply combining his fire fighting job with pig elimination.
-
Additionally, I never ever said the permit courses adequately train individuals but it is a start....and unfortunately a start and a finish combined for way too many.
-
And you all know that many positions in all branches rarely have anything but minimal live fire training. World of difference in military objectives and rules of engagement vs. civilian rules. Apples and oranges.
-
so you answered to no one? Took no orders for the day? I've had 16 yrs of service, maybe on some independent duty, but always had to report to someone.
-
IMO the die for my country argument doesn’t hold water. Those enlisted are under constant supervision. Not so in civilian life.
-
There should be a process similar to hunter's safety program. It could be fairly extensive with a specified field qualification and then one could apply for the enchanced carry permit after passing. It would be a mistake IMO to abandon the permitting process due to the advantages of reciprocity.
-
TN has had a 'permitless carry' provision for several years that applies to your vehicle. It is an extension of the Castle Doctrine. Applies to firearms, not specific for pistol. Has nothing to do with hunting. You may have some confusion with the provision that applies to carrying a handgun while hunting if one has a permit.

Jamie, you really need to switch over to wet tumbling. Get the Hornady tumbler. No need to deprime first, unless that’s your preference. RCBS brass cleaner, about 10cc a run. Great looking results.

I would disagree with you on the 'probable cause" point. Driving a suspected felon's car with outstanding warrants would create PC IMO. Did she steal the car? Part of a drug dealers distributor? If she had been more cooperative, maybe she wouldn't have gotten so much attention. -

.....and surprise, Holbert's mother is considering hiring an attorney ! Said the police officer was trying to kill her using the taser, and she shot in self-defense and her death was unnecessary. -

Or look at it this way, his xtra padding may have prevented more significant penetration. No one knows the extent of eithers' wounds. The perp may have been been struck once or several times. It is really unfair to characterize the LEO from the confines of a comfy chair. Certainly the tactics leading up to the shooting is one thing, but to act like you have knowledge of his 'will' is well....out of line. -

The cop just took a round in the side. He was probably in pain, shock, and in the process of dying. -
AJ, what is your primary intended use? That will help with your optics choice.
