We use the UV-5RTP in our jeeps off roading. Good little radios. I think you'll be happy with them. I listen to Bedford and Rutherford counties on mine quite often.

I wish I had not seen this. I haven't looked and don't want to know.

What was your last/next range toy? [with pictures]
-boatman- replied to DaveTN's topic in Show and Tell
S&W 629 Classic 6" 44Mag. I've wanted a .44 mag for 30 years or more but it was hard to spend that much money for something I would not carry or shoot that much. Now I don't know why I waited so long. -
I had one of those many years ago. I still regret letting it go.

There is getting to be so many on LBL that if you don't see any when out on a boat you're just not looking. I regularly see a half dozen without really trying. I have several pictures on my phone and you can tell it's a eagle but can't zoom in enough to get a really good picture. I really enjoy watching them.

Great book. If you are mechanically inclined you can use that book and repair anything on a VW.

New TN CC requirements pass house and senate

I may be missing something but after the amendments were put in there I I can't see why they bothered passing this bill. -
Yes, I use a single six like that. It works and is lots of fun.

Those look really good. I wish I had the nerve to try one but I cant see myself getting results like that.

I've been collecting boat key floats for years. Anytime I( go somewhere new I pick one up. I get them out every year and decorate a second christmas tree entirely with the key floats.

I saw that but didn't realize what I was seeing. I also thought it looked different and now I know why. Thanks for posting this.

No way! That makes my legs weak just watching it.

My son who was a tech at a Dodge/Jeep dealer at the time talked about draining the oil out of nice Jeep Cherokees with good 4.0 engines and driving them out back and running the engine wide open until they blew. Such a waste of good usable vehicles. I'm sure it happened to a lot of others as well but as a jeep guy that hurt me.

Very nice!

Stevens 16 ga double barrel handed down from my dad who bought it new. Still have it. One of my boys will have it someday but for now it's staying with me.

I agree. I never knew she sang "The Weight" but just got through listening to it. I went into it thinking it couldn't be as good as the band. Not bad but IMO it's not even close. I might not be the best judge on this because I loved The Band and The Weight was my favorite.

Printing Doesn't Matter - Until It Does
-boatman- replied to TGO David's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Wintertime, no problem. Summertime, not so much. I have never found a solution and have quit worrying about it for the most part. If I knew how to fix it I would. Most of the time I carry a M&P compact under a t shirt pulled up against my side and sweat all over it. It prints bad but I can,t say people know it,s a gun. Even when I carry a Kel Tec PF9 it still prints but not near as bad as the M&P. Maybe it,s my build, I don't know. I've never tried IWB but don't think it's for me and don't want to have two different sizes of pants. I'm watching this to see what others do. -
This is the way it was when I was in school also and half the trucks and cars in the parking lot had firearms in them. They were brought into shop class to be worked on. I remember one being raffled off in school. No one would even imagined (I finished in 1974) someone shooting up the school.

I don't think I've ever heard of REI before today and don't know anything about them.

Do this. If mine does not start in two or three pulls I have to let the pressure off and start again or I can't pull it anymore. If it starts right off, no problem

The duty cycle is the best reason (or excuse) for getting a 230 volt. I have a Hobart 175 mig and have hit the duty cycle one time after owning it for years and that was welding a DIY bumper kit for a Jeep. That's a lot of welding on 3/16 steel. I have also used 110 migs on thinner steel that I was hitting the duty cycle more than welding. It's frustrating. What ever you do get gas. You'll be glad you did.

Anybody else gotta weedeat the whole yard before ya mow??
-boatman- replied to Steelharp's topic in General Chat
It does me too. Someone on my road does that. They don't just blow it out there. They work the grass all the way across the yard and completely cover the road. I would like to get my hands on one of those jet driers they use at race tracks and make a pass by every time he does that. Blow it all the way to his house. -
I have a SSA and a SSA-E. Love them both. Two different types of guns, two different triggers.
