  1. If this is something that you can change your self you could get them to send you the part. Saves you and them money and your gun is not gone. They are good about sending parts.
  2. Rabbi, I remember those days well and what you are saying makes a lot of sense BUT I hope you're wrong.
  3. Been stopped one time. I told him I had permit and weapon. He asked me where it was. I told him on my waist. He thanked me for telling him and that was the last think mentioned about the gun. Could not have gone better except for the ticket.
  4. I use a hand held Garmin GPS60csx. It is a great GPS receiver that gives visual turn by turn directions with beeps. I also use a Garmin usb18 that turns a laptop into a GPS and gives you a huge screen with lots of detail with visual and audio turn by turn directions. I use city select street software, topo software, and US inland lakes and river software. I do not have a GPS reciever that is made just for a car. If this is what you are wanting I don't really know what is best. I use them both all the time for travel, boating, and geocaching.
  5. I leave it in the box. If you do not want to carry the ammo box you can easily get what you want out of the ammo box. I have not yet had the problem with not enough room in a ammo box but I do use several boxes.
  6. I get mine at Tractor Supply. The best reason I can give you for getting it there is so you can get gas up until 9:00pm and on weekends.

    Snake!!!!

I work with a guy who is terrified of snakes. One day he did just this and could not see the snake in the road afterward. So he drove until he came to a house (several miles) where he knew the owner, pulled up in the yard and blew the horn until he came out. He then cracked the window about a quarter inch (could not have the snake getting in the car with him) and told him to check under the truck for the snake. He took a lot of kidding about that one for a long time.
  8. Would this make it legal to carry in wildlife refuges? This is not a park and I would think is not covered in the Tennessee laws as a place where we cannot carry so I would think this would be OK. How about LBL in KY? Would it fall under this? Part of LBL is in Tennessee so until something changes in here it would not be legal but I think park carry is legal in KY but I don't know if LBL is a park or if it is something else altogether. Also if it would be legal in KY how would they work that with half being legal and the other half not? Any chance they would go ahead and make it legal all over LBL?
  9. My main carry is .40 but if I need to drop down is a 9mm next. If I need to really go small it is a .380.
  10. Me too. If it was still like the 60's, 70's, and 80's I'd still be going.
  11. Its not the only gun shop in the area. There are several places better than GM to buy guns around here. GM is the place to go to look at one that may not be in the other gun stores. They do have lots of them. Was it November of last year when they opened? When ever it was they have not been open long at all. It must be bad if they have decided this soon to close. killemducks, if you know more than you are telling us how about filling us in. Is it a done deal?
  12. KTOG Geocachers of West TN Jackson area geocachers I read several boating forums and a bunch of gun forums but hardly ever post. I just do have time to read them much less post.
  13. I hope it's not so. I don't buy much there because of the prices but it's nice to have it close by just in case. I was disappointed from the start at their small selection in the boating department but I do not want it to leave. I have been by there on week nights and there were only a few cars (less than ten) in the lot. They cannot stay open if there are a lot of days like that.
  14. I agree. How does anyone know, even with lots of practice, how they will react when faced with something like this. I like to think I would do better but the truth is I just don't know.
  15. Thats the kind of story I like to read but we seem to hear very few of them. The video worked fine for me.
  16. Slept right thru it. I found out about it on the news after I got up.
  17. Boating and geocaching.
  18. And now I'm laughing so hard I'm crying also.
  19. Hang in there Mike and good luck.
  20. I have two Kel Tec PF9's. Didn't really plan to. Someone just needed to get rid on one really bad. Other than that, when I get a new gun I want something different.
  21. Tobashadow, Your ruger with the decocker completely cocks the hammer when the slide moves back. The Keltec only moves the hammer back half way and pulling the trigger pulls it the rest of the way back so it needs no decocker. The long trigger pull is just like a revolver in D/A. It needs no safety and is completely safe. If you get a chance to shoot one you'll see.
  22. It seems like you had a really good encounter BUT how nervous were you getting pulled over so soon after getting your permit?
