  1. I picked up a set of Caldwell e-max low profile electronic muffs today and tried them out. They seemed to work well and cut out the gun shots well. When I was facing the wind they did pick that up but it did not really bother me but I have never used the expensive ones so I cannot judge them against anything else.
  2. I don't see the poll.
  3. It's yours. Use it how you want to. While I might not buy it to do what you are talking about doing, I might do the same thing if I already had it.
  4. I voted Impingment. I just don't see the need for the piston even though I like the idea. Now, if I had to find things to spend my money on.......
  5. I gave those things up when they put that fourth wheel on them and never looked back. It just wasn't the same for me anymore. I have been thinking about another one lately mostly to use for work around the house. Back when I rode it was all for fun and recreation.
  6. That is great news. It sounded like it could have gone really bad when it happened.
  7. That's fine even though I can't understand why. Cash is MONEY and money is what takes care of the credit card bill so it takes the money in the end anyway. BUT after I eat the food they better take my cash if they want to get paid!
  8. They would not have gotten any ID from me. That would burn me up. I just would not have done it. I am waiting for the day this happens to me. I think I'll put $100 bill in my pocket and wait.
  9. As long as both grins are goofy I doubt they ever notice the difference
  10. I'm gonna sidetrack here and ask a question. I have been thinking about doing something like this but don't really know what caliber I want. I don't deer hunt but if I decided to I would want it to be up to the task. I would probally only use it for coyote and target shooting. I have a .223 so larger than that. Consider the cost of ammo in recommendations.
  11. Very good question. I'm glad you asked that.
  12. One more thing to thing to think about if you may be thinking about doing this without brakes. Your manual will give a combined weight rating of truck and towed load where you will need trailer brakes. If you exceed this and and something happens you could be liable even if they pulled out in front of you because you were exceeding the weight limits which made it unsafe to stop in a normal distance.
  13. If overdrive is used at all you really need to pay attention. If you are likely to forget about it being in OD don't do it. Like was stated it builds a lot of heat. I will switch back and forth myself and that way I can hold it in drive when I need to or go to overdrive in a level cruise or down hill. I think a good way to check if D is better than OD even if it is not shifting back and forth is to without moving your right foot, switch to D. If the truck picks up speed when you do this you were lugging your engine just a little on OD. I think lugging a engine while towing is worse than a few more RPM's any day. I think your fuel mileage would be better in D at that point even though your engine will be spinning a little faster. Instead of lugging your engine RPM's below the torque range you will get it into the range where it makes power and it will be more efficient.
  14. Brakes Brakes Brakes. I do not like to tow anything without brakes. I assume those tow dollies have surge brakes and your Dodge should have a 4 wire light hook up from the factory. If the dolly has electric brakes and your truck has a trailer towing package you should be able to just plug in a brake controller for that. Now days they are electronic so you don't have to plumb into the brake system. Very easy. The dolly will have the lights. Just make sure they work.
  15. Are you talking about a on board pressure monitoring system? If so and it made that much of a difference I guess that shows it works.
  16. We didn't have much luck either. We were counting on hunting going on on the farm just over the fence in a sunflower field to keep them moving but they did not hunt today. I got a total of two but I'm not complaining. It has been many years for me and I still had fun.
  17. If you don't trust them why let them into your house. I would say this person is carrying for the same reason you would be. To protect themselves. Done it many times and never had any trouble even though I got made a couple times.
  18. Back when we had him I never thought I would say it but compared to what we have now I AGREE!
  19. That abut sums it up as good as anything I know of. I just wish I could understand where they are coming from.
  20. For years I painted on the side inside peoples homes. I always carried under a un tucked t shirt. It was spotted a few times. A couple of times the person seemed a little shocked at first but after thinking about it a minute and finding out my partner was carrying also, and that they had been around us all day or several days, they were ok with it. Most of the time the people were working for either knew us or knew of us through other people so that may have made a difference and were working for our selfs so we did not have to worry about getting fired by the boss. I guess we could ave gotten fired from the job were working on but it never happened. Who wants their house half painted?
  21. You must be a very gentle driver.
  22. I fall in behind them at a distance when that happens. When I was younger I wanted to lead. I didn't want anything passing me. Now I say "go on dude, I got your back". I don't get tickets anymore either, or maybe I should say very seldom.
  23. The last vehicle I bought my wife (03 Explorer Eddie Bowyer with 17in BFG Rugged Trail TA) got between 65k and 70k. I was so pleased I bought another set just like it and she is still running them. They are quiet too for all terrain. She should be getting close to 140k now but she still likes it so I will probably keep it and buy another set if the rear end does not cost too much to repair. We had rear end rebuilt under warranty but those rears gave trouble the first few years they were built. We will have to do something before winter.

That sounds like a great deal. If you want one you better jump on it before someone else does.
  25. This is true and my agent tells me you never know when they will do it and if they get all policy holders. She said sometimes people get lucky and get by and others do not. Luck of the draw I guess.
