  1. *sigh* I wish :poop:

Non immigrant aliens are not eligible to apply. I'm a British citizen living over here on a non-immigrant visa. I'd dearly love, with all my heart, to become a US Citizen, but the US government won't allow it.

You know something is really messed up when people who come to our country legally, play by the rules, and want to be a citizen cannot become one yet we have people in our country who want to give citizenship to people who come into this country illegally only for the reason to make money and send it back across the border.

  2. A Dremel tool is for repair work; not for polishing. Use something that will form to the shape that is already there. Like polishing compound on a rag wrapped around your little finger.

I would trust almost any new, out of the box firearm over one that someone had taken a Dremel tool to.

It will take more than a dremel with felt tip and compound to change change the shape of a feed ramp. All it will do is polish it to a mirrow shine if it is fairly smooth to begin with. It will not hurt it at all and can help smooth up the feeding.

  3. I would not get a surveyor for what you are wanting to by. You may want to get a out board mechanic to check out the motor. As far as the boat goes the most important thing is the wood. The transom (back end) has plywood encased in figerglass. If water gets inside it will rot and is costly to repair. Tap on it with the handle of a screw driver. You want it to sound solid. It will also have wood stringers. These will be under the floor and will be encased in fiberglass. They will start at the transom and go most of the way forward like a frame. The stringers will be harder to get to and will be impossible in places. You do not want any rot here. Check for a soft floor. The floor is easier to replace but the sides of the hull has to be supported when this is done since the floor is part of the structure. The floor is glassed over on top but the bottom is exposed wood. Most anything else can be replaced without too much trouble but if I found rot I would move on. If you buy a used boat go ahead and budget some extra money above the purchase price to fix some things.

  4. Look up a marine surveyor in your area. They will check it out and give you a written report. If the boat had any size to it and it stays in the water a survey may be required to insure it. Depending on the size of the boat it could cost several hundred dollars. If I remember correctly the last one I got was $300 or $400 dollars. This was for a 30ft twin engine cruiser with a gen set. Note: they can miss things. Don't ask me how I know that.

  5. I would love to see the look on the security guard's face at Walmart when I come rolling up carrying every gun I own so I can buy ammo for them....looking like the lobby scene in the first matrix movie.

I can see it now. Grabbing a shopping cart to take your firearms to sporting goods.

  6. Everyone gets there sooner or later. It's no fun but do what you can to deal with it and get used to it. I got there several years ago. Glasses make it better but it's still not perfect but it's better than not shooting.

  7. I may have some in my parts box. PM me your address and I will drop them in the mail if I have them. Actually, I know I have some that fit a 917, but I am sure they are the same bases. They may not be what you want, but you can't beat the price... :2cents:

    EDIT:

I found what I believe are the bases for the Marlin. They are a 2 piece weaver style set in matte black. Unbelievably, I found all 4 screws for them too. Let me know if you want them.

I'll take them and will more than happy to pay you for them. pm sent.

  8. Where can I find scope mounting bases in the mid state area for a Marlin925m 22mag rifle. I'm not having any luck locating any. The receiver is drilled and tapped and grooved. I would rather use bases but I may have to go with the groves if I can't find any bases. Anyone got a idea on where to look?

  9. I have never heard anything bad about their customer service and my experience was the same. I bought a M4 red dot and a weapon light. The light had problems. I sent a e-mail and about a hour later I got a call. He sent me another light with a free p mag and told me to send the other one back. I got the replacement before I even had time to send the defective one back. He is a great guy to deal with.

  10. I know someone that used them and has not had a cigarette since last November. He got good results from them.

I had never seen or heard of them until I saw him take it out of his pocket, screw it together, and start smoking it. I didn't know what was going on until he explained it to me.

  11. I have never had checking/savings but I bought a new vehicle on 03 that was financed through them. If the payment did not reach them by the due date (I'm not talking about the late fee date) they would call. Never had a late payment other than it getting to them a day or two after the due date and have a very high credit rating. We have never had that happen before. It had us double checking to make sure we had not missed a payment even though we were sure that was not the case. I did not like that at all but after that happened a couple of times we allowed a little more time for it to get there.

  12. Gibson is absolutely one of the worst speed traps in the state. They'll write a ticket for 31 in a 30. If you had been lucky enough to be following someone who knows that town you would not have gotten a ticket unless you pulled out and passed.
