The government shutdown talk and the debt ceiling talk has got me wondering.
Caster replied to vontar's topic in General Chat
Well dang. I guess a militant and heavily armed sect of Ahmish is a pipe dream too, huh? Why does a perfect way of life always attract some narcissistic Dbag vying for power? LOL! ...now, can I derail a discussion topic or what! -

Makes one wish they could find a xenophobic survivalist cult on a few thousand acres in the middle of nowhere headed by someone who is NOT a fruitcake. God knows its time for a new way of life. This current thing we got going sucks donkey. -
Ichabod Crane, you're order is ready!

The best tool you can invest in is between your ears. The old saying 'A book, a cook does not make' There's NO skill you shouldn't be trying to learn. From edible plants in your area, memorizing where potable water sources are, to pressure canning, gardening and crocheting. Learn to knit a sweater and weave a basket. Fix a small gasoline engine, siphon gas from a late model car. You need to develop a skill set that will allow you to bend your environment to your will. That will be your best survival tool. Without skills in producing, concealing and protecting, all your preps will be much appreciated by those who find them and take them away from you by hook or by crook. I tell people, decide where you want to die. Is it where you are or somewhere else? Find that place and start surviving there NOW. Learn it know it live it. If you're already living the lifestyle then when fan gets splattered, then only outside threat levels will change. Your instinct to live with what you have and what you can procure YOURSELF will be the same. One of the best things you can do right now is weening yourself off the mentality "I'll just go out and buy one". I make a point to at least attempt to repair or make a new one myself on EVERYTHING I can. Even if I fail or am not satisfied with the results and end up going to buy a new one. Whatever you're replacing still has value if you can learn something from trying to fix it. Think outside the box and you'll be amazed where you'll be in a year or two. You can stockpile so much ammo. You can't eat it p, it tastes like crap. Lol

It's not an AR. That's its biggest problem.

I try to make a habit out of not freezing my guns.

I guess I'm different. If I had a kid, I'd look at getting him into something they could not only shoot but learn to cast and load for. First thing that comes to mind would be a nice clean S&W hand ejector in .32 S&W long. If its in good serviceable shape, they are every bit as accurate as a .22. In fact the .32 has a looooong track record for serious accuracy. Reason this pistol comes to mind, I load this cartridge with a 100g plain base boolit cat from air cooled wheel weights, sized .311, lubed with my own homemade lube, in Hirtenburger cases over about 1.5g of Bullseye. I load this for a close friend of mine and his 7 year old boy shoots it and LOVES it. Recoil is very low and noise is equally low. Performance within its proper range is more than adequate for small game or cans or paper. If it came down to it, it would defend a life too. One package can give a very dynamic skill set if you put a little thought in it.

Having the proper mold is everything. I still don't see how you get them little buggers in and out of the press. I'd have them slung in the trash.

How has or will the government shutdown affected you
Caster replied to c.a.willard's topic in General Chat
It affected me. I've had to endure copious amounts of pointless bitchin'. It's the only thing 99.7 super talk radio talks about. It's just like wheni was a kid and the president was on. Is on every channel! I'm to the point where I really don't care if the power company goes out there and pulls the meter at the White House and the bank ( of china no less!!!) puts a lock on the door. Screw em. Weak animals make meals for the strong. I'll be glad when we as a people stop sheltering this thing and put it down so we can restart/rebuild and get back to some semblance of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. There will never be happiness with the current regime who take STEAL from me because I decided I need to work for what's mine and give it to some lazy ghetto trash cuz somebudy gots to pay to raise my babies! I got a match, who's got some gas?- 69 replies

I've had several telemarketers call my cell.
-
I enjoy it because ...well...I'm an azzhole. Telemarketers use a head set, not a hand set. I talk as quietly into receiver as possible all the while sounding interested. I have an air horn from a fire engine and my compressor puts out just over 150psi here at work. Get them interested but talk quietly. They will turn up,their headset so they can hear me......then, well you're smart, you know what happens next.

One-Man Militia Cleaning Up National Mall

Asked to stop? Only in Amerika would a man be asked to stop doing the right thing, a good thing...... -
Ohh, yeah, duhh, it this month at the Ryman.

If you love this show as much as I do, and like musical theater, check out a Ghost Brothers of Darkland county. A musical created by Stephen King, Jon Mellancamp and Tbone Burnett based on the show. Who'd have thought they'd make a musical out of Sam and Dean??

Rem-Lin sux. I've never been a fan of anything Remington makes. The 700 is a hyper inflated gas bag. The Savage 110 is leaps and bounds better for half the money. Remington has ruined the good name of Marlin by vacuuming them into their fold. Quality is nowhere NEAR what it once was. BUT, in all fairness, nothing else is either unless you get into small tight knit business that charge a fortune (often well worth it if you want genuine quality). Corporate Amerika has been good to us. They give us mass volume of cheap goods in a timely manner. Corporate Amerika has destroyed pride, quality and apparently taken to the vernacular of the uneducated masses. Win some lose some. Clip, magazine. Doesn't really make a difference do it? Personally I like 'Cartridge Dispenser'. Try going to a gunshop and ask for a factory cartridge dispenser for a Glock 19. Ha!

No, you're not. I don't have one either. You MIGHT be the only dope who LIKES them and doesn't have one though. Lol! Great score 94user. Should last you several lifetimes.

Incredible talent. Not my cup of tea, but very talented. I prefer the same technical super-quality but less bluesy more heavy. Get a chance, check out Erik Calderone or Marc Rizzo. Erik goes by 331Erock on youtube. The guy is ....well, just watch him.

dolomite is right. That is incredibly stupid .......now, that would be sweet to use on my cast loads!

Metallica - Through the Never: An IMAX 3D Experience

I'd love to but can't. I don't know why, but I cannot see 3d movies. I put on the glasses but it just looks blurry. The same as if I didn't wear the glasses. I've tried them with and without my prescription glasses. 3d movies are a no go for me. :( -
Amen to that. If given the choice between Walmart and diareahha I'd have think a minute.

Borken? Bork, bork??

There's a loophole if your keen to exploit it. I swore I'd never go back but..... I sent my wife in to put us on the list. She asked to sit outside on the patio. I waited outside and when the buzzer went off, she went in got shown to the outside table and I walked over and sat down. The outside ain't posted. It's certainly NOT in the spirit of the law but I couldn't care less.

Zero Tollerance is OUT OF CONTROL!
Caster replied to RobertNashville's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
His weak hand needs to be a touch higher to make more surface contact with the weapon, giving him more control. But, all in all, excellent form considering. -
Just like Tom Clancy wrote in Threat Vector

Yeah we'll, life is harsh and I have no room equal opportunity in relation to a communist red hoarde. Asian Americans are typically half again more intelligent than white folk, they get it and if they don't...I'll have to check but I'm pretty sure I don't care. I'm tired of political correctness dictating how we refer to our enemies. It don't matter what color you are if you support America and work to support yourself. I don't care if people don't like it, a bunch of rag heads murdered our people in New York. Animals all over the world want to kill us and our soldiers. Screw em. I don't care what backwater ape breeding country they come from. If you would do an American solder harm, I hope you die and china would love nothing more than clear us out and move over here. To do so would mean killing US soldiers.....refer to the line before.
