  1. I wish Toyota would do something like the Raptor. I know there are TRD versions but they aren't what the raptor is. .....and the Tundra desperately needs a makeover.
  2. Easier to be forum than against 'em.
  3.       You're putting a lot of faith in the people of NY.       ....oh wait, you mean RATS as in little rodents.  Sorry.
  4. Lemme know when we get to this point, and I will buy one.
  5. I read an article a few years ago about them being a deciding factor in some Detroit police departments spending part of their budget to put patrol rifles in squad cars.
  6. Lumber Jack, Your avatar accurately describes the best solution.
  7. Biggest problem I see is their interbreeding with stray domestic dogs. Country folk call them coy-dogs. They are fearless and extremely aggressive. About 15-18 years ago I was living in west TN next to Westvaco timber land. Very remote. I saw first hand how aggressive they are. I've killed dozens of them and they have the instincts of the coyote but they lack the natural fear of humans. These are a very real problem in urban areas. Detroit for one. One of the worst I personally have encountered was a pack of about 8 or 10. Didn't really have the leisure of time for an accurate head count. One in particular cornered me in the backyard of where I was living. My nearest neighbor was serval miles, so as I said, quite remote. He didn't charge me but pressed forward and I could hear several from his pack circling in the tree line surrounding the house. All I had was a little .38 Iver Johnson revolver which was more than he could bear and the noise ran the others off for a short while but the one I shot looked to me to be a cross between a Rottweiler and a Coyote. I've heard from people that lived in that area that they've seen Pitts mixed with coyotes. Abandoned dogs were quite common in that area. I hunted down several and they are quite difficult to kill. They fight hard. I was still young and dumb then, that's when I found out just how useless a 55g fmj in a .223 really is. At the time I had a Garand also. They didn't fare too well against it. ;)
  8. Sounds like a good excuse to have Chip Cain set up your NFA trust and get a nice suppressor.
  9. Yeah, well, what about the rest of us? :)
  10. Yep and we got matching boots in another thread. Win win!!
  11. I dunno, I've done it before and it worked very well. The trick is to make sure the bed liner is fully cured and super clean. I did a whole jeep in spray bedliner then painted it green. It was a tough finish. I ran it through the thicket and woods pretty hard before I sold it.
  12. Carb cleaner.  Spray the crap out of it, scrub it out with whatever is handy but not abrasive.  Don't much worry about corrosion as case lube will be in there in short order.  I don't want any spray lubes in there that might make hydraulic dents in the shoulder.
  13. :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs: :bs:
  14. I don't know. Probably something exclusive for the kool kids is why I figure it won't work for me.
  15. The solution for me is quite simple. Do all my running and eat last. Make sure not to eat a couple hours before I have to leave home. Doing that means I can sprout a monkey tail at home. If I leave my gun in my bathroom I only have to deal with my wife. Emergencies do arise from time to time but I make a conscious effort to :poop: at home. Besides, that's where my collection of Backwoodsman resides. When the Browns go to the super bowl, it's best to be a home game. Away games are never good.
  16. I dunno about the boots but Oh Uncle Paul might need a good whop upside the head for posting that picture.
  17. That would depend on how good you are and who you're shooting against.  If you were shooting against me.....you'd be at no disadvantage whatsoever.
  18. THE WSM cartridges are a bugger to size in the first place.  Fat case tapered to a tiny neck in comparison to the body.   No break in required though, but as Greg already pointed out, all new dies need an enema before being out to use.
  19. Yep.  I've been to a few concerts in the last few years and as my mind wanders with my eyes across the crowd, I am amazed at how easy it would be to slaughter people at a loud venue.  Take a good heavy metal concert for example.  So loud you have to text the person next to you just to communicate.  On the floor, people are cutting loose and having a great time, half of them are drunk, the other half probably stoned.  A person with a suppressed rifle sits in the upper deck in the shadows and starts laying waste to them.  Shoot several by the major exits first would clog up the works and give a moderately proficient shooter a good ten minutes.  Maybe more with a suppressor.  How many center mass hits can you get off from a semi auto rifle inside 50 yards in the span of ten minutes???       OR, some pipe fittings, cannon fuse and a couple pounds of pyrodex and just start lobbing them off in the thick of it.         The last venue I went to I wasn't SUPPOSED to have a weapon but it wasn't posted and I made it through a pat down.  SERIOUSLY!!!  A physical pat down and I went right on it.  BUT, If I had of needed it and managed to defend myself from a lunatic, I'd be in jail right now, what would you bet?
  20. Crazy's ain't crazy!!!  No nut job is gonna hit a hard target.  If the kind of people hellbent on killing really wanted to make "those responsible" pay, why not hit a courthouse or police station. Ohh no, they might shoot back before the coward gets a chance to off himself.
  21. I think it all stems from fear.  Fear that I am not so easily controlled.  A good solid rifle levels out the playing field and makes an individual [with NO training or logistical support]  VERY dangerous.     "Tha Man" poops his pants at the thought of uncontrollable free thinkers that value liberty.  Many a Redcoat had brown knickers.
  22. I don't want what I'm about to post to misunderstood.  I DO NOT want to see any more insane mass killings.  NO!   ...but, the fact is, it's inevitable.  ...and again, don't misunderstand but I would really like to see the next nut that goes crazy, use a sword or hammer or something else.  It would be horrible and I would genuinely feel bad if it happens after me saying it but it might be what it takes to make people understand, its not the tool used to do the job....it's the whacko using to tool.   If some fool went crazy with a ball bat full of nails and couldn't be stopped until the cops arrive, will the want to ban ball bats?    Mental illness needs the real discussion.
  23. I used to get worked up about stuff like this until I realized, I'm finally at that point in my life where I dont. First off, good luck to any of them that try to physically take them. I've been ferreting stuff away for the last 20 years, since I got outta high school. I've got enough to get me by. I'm gonna do what I want to do. I'M not a criminal and they can all kiss my ass. If they want to try, I'm okay with fighting about it. I doubt I will survive it.....but I KNOW they won't. The folks who want to do things like this really think they have a handle on things. They think they know numbers. They know dick. There's how many guns out there already? Wrong, there's MUCH more. There's stuff hidden away coast to coast to the point of incalculability. Take Knob Creek for example. For those of us who've been there, it's amazong right? Well, if those guys are willing to waste that much ammo and show off that many toys.....what do they have they ARENT willing to waste and DONT want to show off? ...and that's a drop in the bucket. 1000 years from the day they ban all guns on this soil they will STILL be unearthing enough to start small scale wars. I mean heck, they're still diggin up German caches in Russia left over from WWII and the U.S. private sector has more small arms and ammunition than half a dozen third reichs.
