Survey says: 35 percent of Americans would expatriate
Caster replied to Grand Torino's topic in General Chat
If there was somewhere else to go, I'd go in a heartbeat. As it is, there ain't. Despite all the BS current goings on, this is still the best country the earth has to offer. So, until someone builds a new place rooted in true liberty, heres where I stay. If there's a new way I'll be the first in line But it better work this time Peace sells, but who's buyin' -
Actually, I'll be using a .3145-.315 cast bullet. One must approach things very differently for cast bullets. I know some people slug their bore and that's OK, but for best results, one must fill the throat. You'll have to do a pound cast for that and this one measures .3139-3142. Slightly outta round, but it ain't bad considering it's history. In filling the throat. You have a better gaurantee that there's no blow by and the bullet gets a smooth STRAIGHT launch. I've made this statement before but it bears repeating. 99.99% of the time, it's not gonna be possible to chamber a cast lead bullet that would be so large, as to be unsafe. It just doesn't happen....but ALWAYS verify. Jaysouth was an exception with a 30/30 Handi rifle that had a HUGE throat. It was a ver bad factory defect and any caster/reloader competent enough to know how to do a pound cast would come to a screeching halt when they find such an animal. Jacketed bullets are NOT the same and you can have a very dangerous situation with an oversized jacketed bullet if you are a fool. But yes, as has been stated, TYPICALLY, the 7,62x54R uses a .311 jacketed bullet, just like the .303 Brit and 7,7 Japo

Nice. We need more young MEN like this fella. I'll buy him a beer in 9 years, or a cheeseburger and a coke today.

Natural Selection is beautiful. If only the world would just step out of its way and let it do its job.

That's awesome!! I have an old saw blade from a saw mill I've been toying with the idea of using to make one of these myself. I love the handle, you outdid yourself ole buddy.

I was given a Polish Mosin M44 by my father in law over the weekend. He says I have to keep it, after he dies I can sell it or shove it up my ......but for now, he says I must keep it. I spent the better part of the morning getting the doodoo out of the barrel. Good god! It's nice though. Strong rifling, shiny bare metal receiver. Dated 1954. Any of you guys cast for yours? What mold are you running? I'm thinking a 314299 might be nice.

We're doing just the opposite now under the guise of "good for mankind" Piss on the rights of the many for the rights of the few. Sounds historically familiar.

If you don't have the time or inclination to watch the whole thing [shame on you, this is GREAT] at least listen to the closing monolog @ 20:48. Wow, this really fits the current political climate. The late great Burgess Meredith makes it even better. ;) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VZ1P2QdKf5U

That's pretty cool Willis. You really swallowed the whole hook on that Tavor didn't ya? If Busse would make a bayonet for the thing, you could die a truly happy man!

You can't. This stuff they pass off as fireworks is a joke. My grandfart had a stash of old stuff when I was a kid. Ashcans, Silver Salutes and the like. They would jar the friggin ground when they went off. He had some mortars he bought when my father was a young'un and they were in a word....re-dam-diculous. You can't buy stuff like that anymore.

.223 40gr Vmax load development (pic heavy)

You could try some really really light stuff with decent results. That barrel would shoot 30-35 grain stuff quite well......at smoking speeds too. -

I'm waiting alright. I figure they'll be charging to watch videos before too much longer.

Proof that stupid people will thin themselves out if we would just get out of their way.

Only one I had done was in 1998 it was $5500. 235ft deep with about 150ft or so of casing. I can only imagine things have gone up since then.

The batteries in mine will last for many years. I bought some good rechargeables online and picked up a solar battery charger from Harbor freight. With a little care and studious conservation I should get more than my post SHTF life expectancy out of them.

Can't the media see, they're just making their way, the only way they know how.

This ain't a new problem boys, it's just the first we hear of it in the mainstream media. It's been going on since the day they was born.

That is VERY nice. Proof you gotta pay to play, though. I'm too much a cheap skate for that, I guess I'd be more of a Henry Winkler price range. :) Someday I'm gonna break down and buy a NICE knife.

39 I lost it on communication, money and fitness. I got a messed up back and in the last few years, I just care as much as I used to. And as far as precious metal, I'd rather have steel than silver. I can make things outta steel. Silver and gold suck for knives and repairs. WTSHTF, precious metal won't be worth spit. Now, a big hunk of metal, a basket of eggs and a deer shoulder taken to a guy like Spots or similar could work out a good trade for some forged repairs.

Here's a CRAZY thought; Why don't they get it right BEFORE they release it? *gasp* ohh Caster, that's what you get for not having an education little man, we just can't do that. Yeah, well maybe they should hire some people who CAN.
