  1. Nah, One those hippie professors will likely flunk him if he tried or if they find out his daddy taught him how to shoot straight.
  2. SS should be voluntary. I'm fully aware of how the system was supposed to work but it ain't working that way is it? It's nothing more than FRD's new deal commie crap and I don't understand how they can FORCE me to participate. I don't want a check when Im old I want my money now. I'm sick of paying up so some old fart who thinks he deserves something because he paid in all his life can have MY money. AND don't tell me it doesn't work that way, I know several people who have drawn out WAY more money than they ever put in. One old man in particular is 86 yrs old. He's been retired about as long as I have been alive. He will tell you in a heartbeat that he drew out what he paid in, in less than the first ten years. BS! what about the other nearly two decades? AND the millions just like him? Me and you guys get that bill. Our founding fathers would spilled blood for that kind of theft. I should say, I don't bear ill will to anyone who takes it. The problem is rampant and it's not going to stop until it runs aground. SO, get all you can get your hands on guys while you still can. It's my belief though that there's only one way for a real man to live his life and it isn't walking on the backs of others.
  3. I found this site but you're on your own if you use the data. It's not certified and apparently Hodgdon doesn't list any data for it. THE SINGLE SHOT CONTENDER 30-30
  4. I've seen them as well and wondered the same thing. Never heard of them before then.
  5. Uhh, you've kinda left out a few details there Big D. Like....caliber?
  6. That's actually cool to know you got this place locked down solid enough to say that.
  7. Speaking of mold your own, I'm in for lunch break. Been casting 200g RNGC for my .308 Winchester all morning. God I love this.
  8. ..........or tenderloin on a biscuit.
  9. While I am not the biggest lover of all things hunting, I will say that a shoulder in the crock pot with taters carrots onions and seasoning comes in a very close second to "Why we shoot deer in the wild"
  10. This song makes me wanna party!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B-n9gbn_oZg
  11. That is a nice pistol. I feel inclined to argue that it's better than an XD, but I suppose if YOU are happy and hit well with it, then it really is a better gun than the XD. I know one thing, and it's not polite and Christian like to say, but the death of Bill was the best thing to happen to Ruger in a loooong time. They are making guns now that are up with the times. I LOVE the M77 and I have a few Ruger revolvers but never owned and Auto. I will say I am partial to XD because I am rather heavily invested in them but if I had to do it over today I'd certainly paw at one of those for a while before deciding. Very nice.
  12. i used to be one of those guys when i was young and dumb. 400 small block, straight pipes and I used to love to pass cyclers, torquing it to about 5 grand. It's not cool anymore [not that ever was] sorry. I'll still get down on the horn if it takes more than a few minutes. 5-10 seconds is nothing but I have been behind some for a few miles with no opportunity to pass. Now that IS
  13. Hey! When momma's happy, everybody happy!
  14. THIS. Something wrong with a man who don't like fishing. You might be starving and dependent on the catch but a part of you will relax and that is ALWAYS good in a high stress situation.
  15. I found a break down rod with a really small spinning reel I keep in my BOB. Get the palm sized Plano tackle box with some bare essentials and a couple of rooster tails.
  16. That's dependent on your resolve. I don't condone meddling in God's affairs myself, but you DO have a choice. Well, unless the medical community gets ahold of you first. BUT, we are seeing a push for legalized assistance in terminal cases. IMO it's your choice not the fed's but be prepared for any possible consequences When the Man comes around. Done did it. Delivery, cremation and disposal paid for. I think around $2K total but don't quote me on that, I don't handle the finances. Still, it's cheaper than a box and a hole. That's gonna run you 10K. That is absolute Lot of people frown on cremation but wasting perfectly usable real estate just so your dead corpse can rot is ludicrous to me. The church I was raised in made out like (never openly said, just hinted) you'd go to hell for a "Pagan" burial by fire. PPPfffftttt. If God can't put ashes back together then he ain't God. Cremation, it's cheap, easy, leaves more of your $$ behind for your family, and they can spread your ashes over the gun range or your favorite fishing hole. A field full of people I don't know or care about ain't what I call resting peace. Robin48 Go fishing, take your favorite gun and shoot something along the way, then take a long nap. Hope the ticker gets to feeling better.
  17. Yup. This is where paranoia really pays off. Everyone in public is a potential threat.
  18. !!!!!!!!Spews coke onto monitor!!!!!!!!!! Wow. Makes the sum of my future dental bills look paltry. I'll be out close to 2 and I thought was insane. I suppose that's my reality check for the day.
  19. At 33 I have realized there's only one way to fix a tooth. Extraction. Teeth suck. I've had all my wisdom teeth and all but one molar removed. I have a little savings account [mason jar] set aside and when there's enough put away, I'm going to go have the rest yanked and buy me a nice perfect custom set. I know the woes of dentures but I ask everyone I meet that has dentures....NOT ONE single person has ever said they wish they had their real teeth back. A few have told me they wouldn't take them back for any amount of $$$! Like my father in law says, when he gets a tooth ache, he pulls them out and chunks them in a jar. Problem solved. False teeth aren't exactly sexy, but I've been married a decade now to a gal I've known since second grade. What the heck do I care. If it weren't for my wife's wishes to the opposite, I'd wear a DNR tag around my neck. You can keep your life support and ventilators. Everyone feels different. My wife is a "Clingon" She wants to cling on to life to last second. Me? I'd take 50 years running at 80-90% efficiency than 100 years with the last half being crapped out and in pain, burdensome and can't even wipe my own, well. Not saying anyone over 50 is like that! I'm just saying for me. If you can't live life the way YOU feel it should be lived, why live at all? AND I can't live life from a chair from the dang scooter store!
  20. Man, y'all must've been seriously hungry. Guts, brains, organs of ANY kind....nasty. I won't say i'll never eat it cause we'll all eat grub worms and kidneys before we starve to death but I'm a loooong way from that. Yuck!
  21. Anyone ever thought of doing site benefit sales or auctions? Seller posts an item, buyer pays TGO, Seller ships to buyer? It might be a financial booster for TGO? I'm sure people have stuff they don't want anymore but don't quite want to just give it away. It works well on another site. Just a thought.
  22. They're a bunch of arrogant self righteous douche bags anyway....at least the times I've been in.
  23. ^ This. Corelokt's are great performers as well as cheaper. I'm not trying to insult you at all, but maybe instead of looking for that perfect load, you might put that energy into improving your skill with that Winchester. I would wager, having never seen your rifle, that it is more accurate on a standing shot than most of us here at TGO. Certainly me. Get to know your gun. That was a tough lesson for me to force myself to learn. You may be pleasantly surprised. After all, even if one were using a FMJ in 30/06 [which is absolutely illegal BTW] a precisely placed bullet in the heart will topple any deer out there. The market is flooded by the latest greatest whizz-bang super dooper wonder products for one reason, they sell. They sell because people don't want to admit faults but have a need to make up for them.
  24. Yeah, I may not like it, but I have come to agree.
  25. Hello! Not too far from you either. Welcome.
