  1. This is wisdom. Don't laugh, but I have thought about walking staffs for survival. Years and years in the BSA proved to me what a friend a staff can be. SO, what if a man were to make a staff from heavy walled PVC and stash a really slim fishing rod in it?? I don't know how clumsy a capped [both ends] PVC pipe would be. My current staff, a 7ft (!*!) ash that I have tapered on one end to take a frog gig/fish spear, or an attachment I made that lets me use it like a cane pole. Feeling is severely limited due to it's rigidity, but hey it'll work. (!*!) Special note for any who have no bad "walking stick" experience. If your walking stick/staff is not taller than you, you're begging for impalement. Trust me, I've seen it on a 20 mile hike around Virgin Falls. It also limits it's alternative uses.
  2. You're absolutely right. I just wondered if they existed.
  3. BTW, how does that Hogue rubber thing work for ya?
  4. I LOVE my Xd's. They are the only full size auto loader I care anything for. Matter of fact I only own two non XD's out of an arm load. My PT 145 that I will NEVER part with and a Beretta 92. The only reason I keep the 92 is because I can't find another XD9 to trade for it. You will love the XD man. Love it.
  5. Wow, I'm in that area periodically. I'll have to give them another try. Last time I stopped in, the guys wouldn't stop talking to one another until I asked them to, and then he acted like he was doing ME a favor. What douche bag. It'd be nice to know I can actually get waited on and appreciated.
  6. My XD's were almost that nasty too. The last one I bought (XD45) was horrific. Some of the nastiest guns you'll ever see are brand new ones.
  7. I do, and Mobile One 5w30 works really well.
  8. Remoil for coverage, Mobil 1 for rails, slides and bolts. I used to use Texaco Starfak for my AK's but I have since purged myself of Kalashnikrap.
  9. I'm sorry about your other cat. I understand. I just had to put one of ours down early this week. She was 10 yrs old. We found her as a kitten in the woodpile outside. Your new buddy looks mighty fluffy!
  10. You guys have GOT to be kidding about the "pocket fisherman" right? RIGHT?
  11. Nice gun, pretty dog.
  12. Taurus gets a bad rap sometimes but I have PY145 I have been carrying every day for over a decade. I lost round count a looong time ago.

    92fs grip help

I made a set for a 22 revolver once by glueing two thin pieces walnut and maple together. The white/black contrast was really nice looking finished with Truoil.
  14. Wife carries one everyday. It has never jammed and at 7 feet it hits what you point at. She actually uses the the little PDA looking holster it came with. Works for her. Bad side is, it's not reloader friendly. the unsupported chamber that allows it to feed so well leaves a nasty bulge on the brass. That really a non issue though because you'd have to be nutz to shoot it in volume. I give it two thumbs up.
  15. You also have the Range Inc in Hickman county The Range Incorporated - Handgun Safety Training Classes For Tennessee
  16. Yeah I have too, but I'm funny. When I find a path that works and is easy to follow......I fear change.
  17. Heck yeah, I just finished 196 rounds of 12 "0" buck this afternoon. What would that cost commercially?
  18. I stir a candle around a bit and then...pooof! While the flames are burning I stir with a spoon being sure to scrape the sides and bottom. When the flames sputter out, skim the sludge and get casting.
  19. Without details and few pics how can you expect us to believe you and be happy with/for you?
  20. Got off the phone with them last night. They say everything looks correct. They said [again] a letter will be mailed out explaining why. Why they couldn't elaborate on the phone I don't understand. Whatever. I'll take the $$$ What we thought were getting gets tucked away for hard time/emergency the other half is looking like either the beginning of my next AR build or [and more likely] going to the local training school for advanced handgun and tactical rifle & shotgun courses. The fed aren't real bright but hey, I'll remember this instance fondly WTSHTF.
  21. You know why the new bulbs give some a headache right? It's the newest in technology.....for mind control! Yep, the feds are banning all forms of light except for their prescribed, mind altering lighting and the sun [any they're working on that].
  22. I'm gonna make you an offer you can't refuse, but you can't be holding me up cuz I gotta move this product fast see? Don't want the feds bringin the heat.
  23. That's it! I've made up my mind. Once enacted I'm going to get into the underground sales of incandescent lighting. I've always fantasized of a life of crime involving the black market. I'm gonna be the first hustlin' bulb gangsta. I'll go by the name "Black Light". I'll hire mules to ferry bulbs across the border and set up my empire a the top of the L&C tower. Mo money, mo money, mo money!
  24. I was in Tractor Supply earlier, they had some nice slingshots for $10. Same velocity, cheaper price and you don't need a permit to carry.
  25. Thank you Hipower! I thought I was retarded or something [still may be] Those stupid pig tail corkscrew bulbs make me sick at my stomach and head something fierce!
