  1. Wish they'd made a 308 win over a 12g. Talk about a handy gun, that'd be it!!
  2. I had to order some stuff from Midway so I picked up a box of 100 168g Amax's and another box of Hornady match brass. Can't wait to start developing these.
  3. Good luck! That'd be a cool place to work, and a cool position to have.
  4. AA5744 Accurate arms powder. Below is stolen from their website. Accurate 5744 is an extremely fast burning, double-base, extruded powder. This unique powder can be used in a wide range of rifle calibers and magnum handguns. 5744 is characterized by excellent ignition and consistency over a very wide performance range. Low bulky density and superior ignition characteristics make 5744 an excellent choice for reduced loads in many rifle calibers and in large capacity black powder cartridges such as the 45-70 through 45-120 and 50-90 through 50-120. Made in Canada.
  5. What is the ACTUAL size of this target? Would it be 18cmx20cm or what? I would like to print this out or have it printed. If I'm gonna do it, may as well do it right. Thanks!!!
  6. That's exactly right. Maybe I take working in a machine shop for granted. I assume everyone knows simple production. I only load small batches for development. Once I find the load I like, I will wait until I have a minimum of 1K. I prefer 2 or 3. Get a hand primer and watch TV while you prime. Oh BTW, start saving coffee cans if you don't already. They are a reloaders best friend!
  7. If you sell them, you will never see them again...and trust me, IF you sell them, you will try to track them down or at least think about it constantly....and you will fail. Unless you are struggling to pay the light bill or the mortgage or sumthin' just go put them up and forget you ever posted this. It's not like he gave you an RG or a "Made in West Germany" He gave you top shelf stuff!
  8. Someone will likely say Nay Nay! but i have been loading a long time and I have never owned a progressive press. Too much $$$ to invest in, especially if you're new to loading. If you have 5 kids and a wife and this is a family thing, then reloading should be just the same. Delegate loading chores. I've loaded about 3K 9x19's this year and I usually load around 10+ a year easy. All on a Lee. Get one of their anniversary kits, sell the powder measure and scale (they are crap) buy a Lyman or RCBS scale and measure. Buy Lee dies and get diggin' with a lot more money in your pocket. First step though, buy a good manual. Lee's manual or Lyman either one are great.
  9. I guess you have a point. *sigh* What men won't do for the hairy end of a woman's gut.
  10. Do we have a Zombie Response Unit for Williamson county and surrounding areas? I see some East TN boys on here, but I fear we'd be chum for the walkers before they'd even consider the drive.
  11. I dunno what kinda dog you have that's high maintenance than a woman. I have a 85lb pit. He roams the fenced yard, eats about $30 a month in food, requires about 30 minutes a week with a rake and a shovel and his only demand is for the bones out of the crock pot. In return he scares the bejesus out of everyone who comes near the place. That's cheaper than a movie and a trip Logan's by God!
  12. Mehh, that's what you get with apathy and sloppy carry habits. If you assume you're kit is good just cuz you bought nice stuff, then you deserve it. If you don't do periodic [frequent] inspection of your carry setup then you deserve it. In the photo, you can see that accident a mile away. If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough. Personally, and this is gonna sound really crazy until you actually think it through; The perfect time to inspect your holster is during the time you are ruling your kingdom atop the porcelain throne. I always take mine out of the holster and lay it on the sink next to me so it's a simple matter of just giving everything the once over. You can catch up on your reading the next go 'round.
  13. My advice, ....go buy a dog.
  14. There's a lot of might's and maybe's here. My grandma always said might's live on a chickens aßß. The only fair fight is the one you win. The element of surprise is dominating in SOOOO many ways. The BG is in YOUR FIGGIN' HOUSE, he doesn't deserve a warning. Dead men pose no threat, don't file law suits and tell no tales. I'm not a big fan of killing another human, but there is a line in the sand. As far as racking the slide for intimidation, IMO, the only thing intimidating needed in this scenario is already there. It'll be God on judgment day as he tells the crook "Come on over here, I wanna talk to you."
  15. I made some grease tubes from some plastic tubes I found in a hobby store. Take a nail and pound it flat on the end, shape it with a bench grinder and deburr it, then JB weld it in the tube cap. Filled it with Lucas red high temp/pressure grease. I'm gonna make about a half dozen of these and put them in my different packs and what not. I like the Lucas red grease, I use it very sparingly on my pistol rails. I put enough in this one tube to last for many many years, provided it don't dry out. The tube is sealed pretty well though.
  16. That's great! I never win squat!
  17. This is the Hard drive that self destructed and P'ed you off. This is the 525 grain Lyman 12 gauge slug you cast with love and care. This is the hard drive that self destructed and P'ed you off when introduced to the 525 grain Lyman 12 gauge slug that you casted with love and care at 1300 feet per second. Any questions?

JPS is right. Make this an activity for the ENTIRE family.
  19. SUEY! That's the ticket right there!!!! Performanc was my biggest concern. Accuracy is no question. The Amax track record is already well established.
  20. I have one in a 8mm Mauser with a decent muzzle brake. There is a tremendous difference. I can tell a difference in point of balance too. That's a good thing for my application, but YMMV.
  21. Meat, salt/pepper, green stick. Follow with large frosty barley pop. Simple.

Good score. You may/will find some that look down their nose at a Hi Point, but remember [and this is the god's honest truth] there are people that have paid SOOOOO much more and gotten so much less. Every high point firearm I have ever had worked exactly as it was supposed to. I can honestly say, out of the three I have had, I have NEVER had one of them malfunction. AND, you'll be happy to know, Hi Point has in my opinion some of the best customer service out there. I bought a used 9mm Carbine and it had a scope on it. I called them, credit card in hand mind you, to order a set of factory sights. The lady sent me a set and wouldn't hear of me paying them. I even told her I bought it second hand! Truth, she sent out the sights, a manual and gun lock. Clean it, shoot the crap out of it, clean it again, and put it away till the next weekend.
  25. Hey, thanks!!!
