Well that's true but there's no law says I HAVE to go to Vegas and play. Why am I being forced to ante up for a gamble I don't want to take. That's my beef. I shouldn't have said do away with all social programs. I could care less if I wasn't being FORCED to participate.

New gun or old gun? I had an old on do that, just needed a stiffer hammer spring. Of course if it was a new gun you shouldn't HAVE to do that.

He should run for president. If for no other reason than to give SNL some new material. -
I've heard nay sayers, but I personally think the fluting on the cylinder is the bees knees too. It's different.

BigK, that's right. I'd rather give two dollars as have one dollar taken from me. AND if it were to ever come to be, I will. Then I would atleast have some control over where my money is going. If a charity is supporting things you don't like, give to a different one. with more money peoples pockets, they'd spend more, and the economy would thrive.....once the parasites start thinning that is.

Well, I'm a 1911 h8er and even I'll say that's somewhat of a stretch.

That'll be the hard part. That's why I was asking. I can't find a picture of anyone ever doing it. Maybe there's a hidden message in that.

Something I remember from my economics class in high school. Wants are insatiable. Add to that boredom, spare time and imagination....No I can't justify a need of it. Just wanna try it. From the first time I saw the angle mounts a few years ago; I have thought about Chewie's bow caster. Remember, it had two scopes on it side by side. Now that's pretty much useless to all non-wookies, but it does get the mind wandering.

So, has anyone set their AR up using Yankee Hill's angled picatinny risers? I can't find any other manufacturer that makes them [other than ebay airsoft garbage] but then again, Yankee Hill? Quality is there, no need to look elsewhere. I'd like to experiment with one of my AR's by having a scope, and my Eotech at the same time. I've considered the weight and decided it's not an issue. At first I thought I might set my eotech on an angle like I saw Miculek do with his red dot/scoped race rifle. BUT, then I tried shooting with the gun cocked sideways and it was really awkward. SO I played with a junky tasco and some cardboard & duct tape [REDNECK!] and I rigged it up with my eotech on the flat top and the scope offset to the left. It seems somewhat comfortable actually. Things will change I'm sure with solid parts, but I think I like it. The other thing I considered was zeroing the scope may require moving the vertical crosshair to one extreme. May not even have enough adjustment depending on the scope used. Shooting from the scope may not be THE most comfortable but if you're taking a shot you need a scope over the eotech, seems like the extra effort would be warranted. Has anyone ever used angle risers to mount an offset scope? Does it just look tacticrap sleazy? I'm not a fan of tacticool but variable power scope, eotech w/ flip up BUIS's [full cowitness] seems kinda nice too.

Love the XD's but there was a problem with their finish too. I like a glass bead blasted Stainless but the problem is a holster will polish the high spots in short order and that looks like poo.

That much? Wow.

Well, that opinion is irrelevant. Any gun that goes off when a magazine is inserted is garbage, and that gun was garbage. I recreated that a few times for a buddy of mine. Put a single round in the chamber and push a loaded magazine in....bam! Took it to a gun show. Told the guy what it did and sold it for $300. My buddy was the one who encouraged me to sell it for whatever it would bring. I was going to take it to work, clean my mill good and set it up in the vise. Then use a face mill to reduce it to chips and mail it back to Colt. He convinced me that was stupid and anger driven. He was right. I took the $300 and bought a cool little Iver Johnson .38 special target revolver and a several boxes of ammo. Good trade I think. I understand other people have all the luck in the world with them I'm happy for them. Keeps good americans busy making the things. Accuracy is arguable and totally dependent on whose hands it resides in. Bench rest groups mean little to me as they are not indicative of real world accuracy. I can bench any of my pistols and group better than my shaky hands are capable of. After my bad experiences, I'll never be able to shoot one as I am now a bigot and refuse to accept them in any form. It's like my grandma always said, "That's why they make chocolate AND vanilla. One's no better than the other except to the tastes of the individual"

My SP101 bites a little and it's a good bit heavier. I bet this thing jumps!

Willis, if you do get one, make a video of you versus a watermelon. I'll buy the melon. -
Every 1911 I have ever had. I had a Colt series 80 stainless. I loaded a single round in the chamber and let the slide fall, then, when I inserted the magazine, it put a nice hole through the bedroom wall and bathroom door. I had a custom built job (i didn't build it) Essex frame and GI slide, Jammomatic. I had a colt commander, the safest place to be was right in front if it, because it would hit anything BUT what you point it at. I suppose the best one I had was a Llama. It was very reliable, but the slide fit was sloppy and only the Llama magazine fit without noticeable wobble. I shot an Ed Brown at the range one day, nice guy I was chatting with. It didn't jam, was well built and the bullets did go on target, but it was [like all the others] ridiculously heavy and I just didn't see what the big whoopity do was. You could spend ten thousand dollars with insert manufacturer here buying me the best 1911 they can build and I'd have it on gunbroker with no reserve by this afternoon. I'm the weirdo in the gun world I know. I'm one of dozen or so people in the world who refuses to worship this antiquated, excessively heavy, limited capacity design. *whew* That felt good. Thanks.

Which is worse, Soreness or Hangover?

I miss mine sometimes. It was a great pistol. Accurate and reliable. The father in law has one....haven't figured out how to make it mine ..............yet.

Hmmm, wonder what would happen if I pointed one at all these apaches that fly by every week. J/K

Air in the bloodstream is death. I'll go with the "that's wicked" comments. -
Did they throw in the Dora doll and that copy of In the Land of Women [kinda steamy yeah?] too, or did you already have that?

Sorry man. The FIL fell the other day stepping up on the tail gate of the truck....after walking through a puddle of tranny fluid. He was NOT a happy camper. BenGay and frosty barley pop or three.

No they didn't. My folks aren't up for Socialism security yet. Growing up my parents both worked, together making around 75K. 80-90 hr weeks, work on holidays many a day. Of course my old man turned dirty hippy several years ago, so I don't what he is doing now [don't care]. Point is, I didn't sign up for this and forcing me to play along with this take from one to give to another is nothing more than theft and I'd like to see thieves swinging from a sturdy oak tree. SS would be okay [not good, but ok] if they came to you and said, if you wanna play, we'll pay, but if you don't want to participate fine, don't ever ask us for anything. Personally I'd rather live in a box and poach game from the community park than be dependent on the SS system. I see people all the time, it's ALL THEY CAN DO to make it to the first week of the month, then they fill up with gas, buy a couple cartons of smokes and pay as many bills as they can. THEN they sit and wait for the next check to roll in. No thanks, Id rather play chicken with a locomotive. Proponents of SS can slap heels and dress on the system and call it beautiful all they want, it's theft. It takes from me and I do not freely give it. THEFT. I don't want to play and I swear if I can ever convince my employer to put me on contract labor, I'll never pay it again. Taxes I'll pay, that makes sense. The rest can burn t the ground.
