  1. Only when I go to Nashville (or other large metropolis) My back up consists of a zippered case, M-4, 5 Pmags w/ 75g HPBT all resting behind the seat of the Toyota. Other than that, my every day carry pistol is sufficient.
  2. I used to believe the AK hung the moon, then I got an AR. There are a lot of bull crap myths about the AK, and a good bit of the poor accuracy claims are ammo related, true. The war between AR and AK is so boring I could vomit. I sold all five of my AK's and I had more ammo stored away for them than I care to mention, and I have never been happier. The creature comforts, the interchangeability and the versatility is why I am an AR convert. BUT, I would never hesitate to wage war against a parking lot full of zombies with the AK, I wouldn't even be uncomfortable with the idea. The AK accuracy thing is a myth. They aren't as accurate as an AR and never will.....AND THEY WERE NEVER MEANT TO BE. M.K. knew what he was doing, and accuracy is MORE than sufficient. They aren't target or competition rifles and they will shoot minute of Lung accuracy all day long, and they are reliable to the point of insane monotony. I will say this on the other side of the coin though, So are AR's and the whole direct impingement argument is as stupid as the AK accuracy argument. I mean GOD forbid you actually clean your stupid gun once in a while. I have come to realize that arguments for and against both the AR and the AK are 99.9% perpetuated by couch commandos, mall ninjas, and idiot internet experts. They are both darn fine rifles and the ONLY thing that will ever make one better than the other is the end user's level of contentment.
  3. Hmph, First off, find you a new friend. Second, it is premeditated, but it ain't murder. Every soldier that has shot some towel head over in the sandbox; Every time an enemy combatant has been ventilated it has been premeditated. Training that starts in basic, up to the instant it happens. Same goes here and now with me, you and everyone else. When another man chooses to take, or threaten to take, MY LIFE he therefore forfeits his right to live as well. From there the chips can fall where they fall. The one who survives can argue over details. When someone makes this choice against me, it is an act of war. They are then and there enemy combatant and they are treated as such. I'll run like a coward from any fight if I see an opening. The world can laugh at me and I won't care, but if cornered or no other IMMEDIATE option.... whoever bleeds out first looses. ...and tell you friend he can kiss MY butt and to stop spewing that filthy hippy rhetoric.
  4. As far as the show and it's scenario; This guy should be put out to pasture. No long drawn out crap, just walk him out the backdoor and into a dumpster. In times like the show portraits, people like him cannot be tolerated even for an instant.
  5. Simple 16" 1/7 AR. No tacticool nonsense, just a flat top with QD scope and BUIS.
  6. RIGHT! Never watch TV show when it comes on! At the very least start watching it 30 minutes after it starts.
  7. After 34 years on this dirt ball, I'm long past blind belief. I don't recall claiming to be right no matter what either, BUT, I am happy and at peace. That's more than many folks can say. I've never seen a more unhappy lot of people than atheists. They are always getting their blood pressure up arguing and demanding people see reason or show proof. Must be a nightmare carrying a burden like that. I know for me, sometimes I toss and turn for two maybe three minutes before I fall asleep.
  8. Empty freon tanks are easily converted into nato thugs.
  9. Lee hand primer, Coffee cans, recliner, TV, good to go.
  10. DON'T buy a single stage? That's not only ridiculous but pitiful as well. Walk before you fly. I load anywhere between 3 & 5 thousand 9x19's a year and more than that, .223. I've loaded 4K .223's already this year. All on a single stage. I had a progressive a few years ago, it was fast sure, but you have less control over a few things because of your tendency to crank out high volume. Just 3 weeks ago I saw a revolver lock up from a bullet stuck half in the cylinder, half in the forcing cone. The man told me he loaded the ammo on a progressive press and somehow he missed this one that did not get charged with powder. One could argue that he should have been more observant but the fact remains that NOTHING trumps visual inspection. I load in trays of 50 at a time. Progressive presses certainly have their place and if you hammer away thousands and thousands of rounds a year, sure go for it, but to tell a newbie who admittedly knows little about it to dive head first into something like a progressive, right off the bat, is some of the worst advice I've heard in a while. He wants to load for 9mm, 45 & .223 so he'll have a hefty investment in shell plates or long setup times. Progressive is not always faster BTW. What if you want to see how a certain bullet in 45 performs and you want to see how that same style of bullet perform on 9mm, all the while wanting to change your 223 powder charge by a grain or two. For just a simple test he may only want to load 50 of each. That's either a BIG investment or a lot of time spent. NOT to mention one thing to the OP, what if you get bit by the reloaders bug? A real handloader loves to experiment. Lets see you convert 243, 270, 25/06 and a few others into .308 Winchester. I do, all the time. Anything I find on the ground I convert to 308. I like doing it, on top of it being cheap. Maybe he buys a Mauser and wants to make some 8mm Brass from LC Match 30/06. (Where you at there MIKE?) You're not doing that on a progressive. Get yourself a good solid single stage and learn the basics. Learn to do it RIGHT, and SAFE. Then, if progressive is right for you, DO IT. ....Don't learn to reload on a single stage press first? Sure and while you're at it, teach a teenager the basics of driving in a Mclaren F1.
  11. Well it ought to be. I've seen people @ Owl Hollow/Haffners that had no business being on a 100 yard range, God forbid anything wider and more open!
  12. Somebody summarize what it was about please. I clicked play and I heard country music. I think I broke my mouse I clicked stop so hard. Somebody ought to warn a guy before sneaking that mess in. Gotta go listen to the entire Zepplin boxed set now as an apology to my ears.
  13. That's gotta be the stupidest thing I have heard. Sure, shoot the national standard for extreme distance, but not the rifle that rules the long range kingdom. Probably scared of a lawsuit due to an idiot that has not business being out there.
  14. .....and in walks the non believers to tell me how foolish, blind and idiotic I am. OR believers of replacement theology to tell me some of their blather. No thanks to all it
  15. Well that's simple answer for me and I really don't care why others support Israel or don't. I don't have to answer to or for anyone else. GOD is the same today and forever. He NEVER changes. EVER. Therefore when GOD told Abraham "I will bless those who bless you, and curse those who curse you." I have my divine mandate right then and there. What anyone else chooses to support or not support is their business, not mine. I will go on record as saying I have found there to be a huge difference in US born Jews and Israeli people. The Israeli people will forever get my prayer and support no matter what they do. People who fancy themselves as intellectuals can't fathom this. I could care less about them or what they think. It's not my place to judge them. God never told us to criticize them. He said bless them or I will curse you. That's good enough for me. If someone chooses not to accept that part of the word then they need to reconsider following any of it. We don't get to pick and choose. Might makes right, every knee will bend, every mouth will confess. The MAN says so. End of story. Apologies if that's a touch preachy, cause I don't have much use for preachers but the word is law.
  16. If you get hit by lightning somehow I doubt it will be your biggest concern.

    Garden Thug

Oh God. ....and I actually sat through the whole commercial. I feel ashamed.
  18. This isn't going to dissolve into one of stopping power threads again is it?
  19. Absolutely! Pending a credit check you can have one for as little as $129 down and $199.99 per month for 48 months. It's one of the best bargains in the store!
  20. I find it truly sad that things like this need to pointed out.....and they DO need to be. *sigh*
  21. I load the wife's little Taurus with CorBon DPX. It does very well in testing. Yeah it was pricey, but if it works, who cares? In my wife's gun, I wouldn't care if they were $5 per shot as long as they work when she needs them.
  22. Ducks foot! It would make a nice mate to go with a Quackenbush rifle!
  23. Good luck out there. You know it's funny, I know there's thousands of us out there, but I can count on one hand how many people I have seen carrying this YEAR. I have no doubt most are like me and choose to conceal because it makes sense to most of the time, but gunsmoke got me thinking when he said how nerve racking carrying the 45 was. It's a wonder you don't see more people carrying on a drop leg holster or a cowturd rig. It's just not something you see. Sorry for going off topic.
  24. Nah didn't go. I'm fully stocked on cheap knives and beef jerky.
  25. Wow! Being red/green color blind; Had I not noticed the crossed tail feathers, I might not have seen it at all! Nature will always have us beat on this kind of thing. Awesome!
