I'll tell you one mod to NOT make....a CAR stock. Nothing looks worse than an AR-15 stock on something that's not an AR. As has already been stated, the less trinket bull crap you put on there the better. It just adds weight and mall ninja cooties.

The Messiah's mom, she's always great for inspiration. I'm no Catholic, but I love well done, tasteful depictions of her.

Hmmm, driving a 6000 pound vehicle in a hostile environment, armed to the teeth, no cops, chance of getting killed high?? I'd say they were a lot more polite than I would have been. Heck, they were more polite than half the people on I40 right now! Run 'em down if they don't move!

Hmmm, print this out and have a copy or two handy in the truck. I bet some Cops could learn a thing or two from this. ^NOT COP BASHING!!!^ I actually like cops who do their job:)

I know they don't. The best thing to do is what you and I have done. You've chose to teach your children what they need to know, not what THEY want them to know, and I've chose not have any at all.

Absolutely Michael. My grandma used to say this country is headed for disaster because no one felt this way like they used to. She used to say be mindful of the day when the old prayer warriors have died out and God has no reason to bless this country anymore.

Anyone seen this? Italian gun boycott.

Easy, buy a used Beretta. Then they get nothing. -
Have you noticed how this is all you hear about, and the more you hear about it, the more people become polarized. But it's not a two sided set of opposites. You have the "for's" the "against" and then there's a third group to which I am becoming a part to. I'm so sick of no one actually DOING something I'm close to not caring at all. Not caring in the "let it burn" sense. This is getting old. I watched a few seconds of O's speech when he was on last night. Just enough of it to motivate me to get up and put the next DVD of Supernatural season 5 in the player and push play. I'm to the point of "I'll believe it when I see it" because honestly, I don't think they'll do squat until it spills into the streets, and that's sad but so is life sometimes.

Right, but it's reason enough to not buy their product. Not that I'd buy a italian revolver over a Blackhawk, or a Bennelli over an 870, but some would. I never owned a Ruger until Bill took a dirt nap. Never wanted a Smith until they changed hands. Same principle. -
Seems Italy is having freedom to bear arms problems, and are being sold out from the inside. Sorry for the Barfcom link. So, We Italians have been Sold Out by our Own Gunmakers - OMG WE'RE ALL CRAZY WARMONGERS!!111 - AR15.COM

Well, how much does a $30 an hour worker cost an employer? Maybe not $75/hour PLUS benefits, but I'll bet you by the time an employer pays $30 an hour, pays in on the employee workmans comp, umemployment and all the other BS, then pays for insurances for the worker and family, 401K and all the other nonsense I bet you that worker costs the employer every dime of $75 hour or more.

Thirty million foot/pounds of energy at the muzzle.

HA!, that's like getting hit by a VW beetle doing close to 2000 MPH! -
Ain't that the truth! We don't need unions to protect workers anymore. Any scandal going on today can be on the news and all over the web tonight. SO, why do we need a Union, what are they protecting? Deadbeat workers who make enough to pay 2 or 3 good employees. Unions have slid down hill to rest in the communist cesspool along side social security and all other forms of organized social programs.

Wow, and to think; That's a good deal nowadays.

Wow, then imagine some of the ludicrous railway guns of WWII some of which were up to 31 inches. -
We just bought a 55" Samsung LCD LED 3D early this year. It's pretty amazing, but it's a touch annoying too. TV isn't supposed to look THAT life like is it? It's ridiculous when I think about the first tv I ever got back when I was 4. It was a 13" Zenith black and white and it would only work on channel 8 and channel 4(tuner was messed up) . I miss the old cabinet TV's. They weren't just a TV, they were part of the furniture decor. Some were pieces of art. Growing up we had a Sylvania and the wood grain on that thing looked like a gunstock. It took two grown men to move too! I see a lot of young hip trendy folk buy them at the Goodwill and gut them, then put a same size LCD flat panel in there. That's pretty cool, I think. My wife wants me to do one, but make it a fish tank.

Everything is so globalized now anyway, I can't see how this makes one bit of difference. If anyone thinks buying something that's marked Made in the USA benefits anything other than the warm fuzzy feeling inside, they are deluded. Buying the tag won't fix our economy. Nothing will fix this economy. But hey, if it makes you feel all patriotic, By all means.
-
I've been having a continuous stupid day since late 1977.
-
Sad part is, made in america doesn't mean what it used to. I don't mean to stomp toes here, but Made in USA and quality doesn't go hand in hand like it used to. Take GM, their cars suck compared to the Japanese competition. It's no wonder too, if americans had the work ethic some Japanese companies did things would be different.

MMMMMM, a little salt and pepper, and then serve, yeah?

I'm using Forster Dies. I had a discovery whilst experimenting. The Forster dies say DO NOT use their dies to deprime any cases that are crimped; Use a universal decapping die. I don't have one. I used my 308 winchester die. I ran one all the way through the die and it opened up the mouth easily because the LEE 308 winchester die's expander has a looong taper. It made it easy as pie to then run through the Forster die. Then trim once. Saves me from having to trim twice.
-
Well, I figure it not being a common caliber, it would behoove me to make a decent little supply of it.
-
Lee is supposed to release these soon, but I hate waiting on Lee to do anything. They are pathetic at filing orders unless its a warranty repair, and even then, they aren't stellar. Going to be some long hours trimming cases this week if I want to get this pile done. I'm hoping to have around 3K made by next week. My back being the way it is, I doubt it.
-
Well, I am ready to start making brass. I use Lee trimming tools BTW. I started off by shortening a 223 pin to cut LC brass down to just the edge of the shoulder. Then deburr, lube and run through the sizing die. Then I set a 308 winchester pin up in the lathe . Set it back. Then after thirty minutes of slowly filing it down, I got it to final length. Now I can trim like a mad man! .....well, I made three before I come back in the house for a break. Not a bad mornings work.

Thanks again everyone. It's a bit better today. Started some prednisone and starting taking my cyclobenzapr again. That crap knocks me for a loop. I wanted to go shooting tomorrow, but not while taking this mess. I have a pile of cases to trim. MacGyver you're right, I feel better standing most of the time. I'll probably stand at my reloading bench half the day tomorrow trimming cases or something. This happened (not the first time, but the worst) back Christmas two years ago. It was so bad when it happened, I had to ride a shovel for a walking staff to get me across the yard. I literally couldn't move more than 10-15 degrees. I was locked up tight. It's manageable today, but if this is what I have to look forward to, count me out for the old age thing. I don't know what I would do if I had REAL pain to contend with like some do. Crippling arthritis, cancer......GOD only knows what some of our troops come home feeling like. Pain's one benefit is it's curse, it's a sobering reminder of mortality. Doesn't seem that long ago I could run up a tree backwards "look Ma no hands!" The only Thing I think about a tree now is I wonder if there's a pretty grained gun stock hiding in the base.
