I love joking and cutting up. I pride myself on being an amateur smartaßß. Tomfoolery ranks high with me. I like messing with people as long as there's no harm, foul or insult. It really sad, I mean PATHETIC what I have found. Messing with young veterans by saying to them "Hey, I appreciate your service, thank you." I do this as often as I recognize them and it's always the same response..."huh?" Young (20-25) Marine comes into the shop today. I notice the tats and the stickers on his car so I ask him, where did you serve and what did you do? He told me where in afghanistan he went and what infantry unit he was in. I shook his hand and told him "I never served. I was born and raised a coward. I do however appreciate guys like you that risk life and limb so I can continue my "hide under a rock" lifestyle." All the while with a sly grin on my face. He was kinda taken back. It was fun to see the expression on his face. The flip side to this, he told me how no one...NO ONE ever told him thank you...not a stranger anyway. Now I'm not one to start swearing and being vulgar but WTF??? I don't think we as citizens should bow down and kiss their feet, but every single oxygen breathing organism within the borders of this country owe each and every one of them a "Thank you" It should be a mandatory civic duty. Eliminate any open ends where it can be exploited for monetary gain. I see a guy begging on a street corner, I wouldn't hand him a dollar if he was on fire. BUT, if he wants to walk across the street to Wendy's....I'd buy him three sacks full of burgers to feed his wife and kids. Anytime, if have the $$$. STOP giving out food stamp cards and start giving out the food itself, and I bet anyone here, the percent of people on them would drop overnight. I've heard people talking here at the shop how they go to the grocery store with a food stamp card holder. They buy up a bunch of groceries, get out to the parking lot and then pay the card holder like half receipt total, in cash. Person (A) gets 50% off their groceries, person ( gets money for meth.

Give him a high five from me. Public schools are garbage. I once worked with a guy whose boy was expelled for wearing a black shirt with a red "Hawk" on it. Late in the day after a couple of hours of wondering, the teacher discovered the image was that of Sturm Ruger. There was no writing on the shirt! Under the zero tolerance rule, he was suspended. God knows those kids are safe now, them tshirts are deadly.

Well, I never said deny anyone rights or cut on anyone. I said I can understand. What right does one person have because of their misfortune, to encroach upon my life and financial stability? NONE. It is sad that a veteran such as your granddad fell into such despair but that doesn't grant him the right to an entitlement at the expense of someone else. If it does than his sacrifice for freedom was a waste and for not. I've posted this so many times, to take from one to give to another in the name of charity or social programs is THEFT in every way shape form and fashion. So it's not right to physically intervene upon someone's ability to breed. I agree. Let nature run it's course though. All other animals that cannot provide for themselves suffer. It's an extension of natural selection and man is insolent and arrogant to think he is above it. Charity is voluntary. I'm inclined to give to the needy when it's my choice. When you take from me without my permission to give to someone else, I lose all sympathy. I don't take to being stolen from. If the only way the masses can walk, is on the backs of people like me who work everyday and provide for ourselves.....they can rot. It's wrong...SO WRONG. In shame and secret I sympathize. As wrong as it is to say things like the above; It's equally wrong that ghetto trash breed more trash. Why should we (working folk) be made to feed an ever multiplying hoard of parasites? Pray for divine intervention is the only suitable remedy I can think of and maintain a clear conscience.

Well, that bothers me too. If I only knew there were children going to bed hungry in my backyard, I'd be feeding them every evening. That said, I'm quick to judge the grown man that says he's hungry. No job, well, there a lot of that going around, you have my sympathy. BUT I see people everyday claiming no job, but they can afford the gas to stroll up and down the road goofing off, smoke two packs of marlboro everyday (what's that, $10???) There was a man in here a few weeks ago whining about his job being cut. I asked him if he'd put applications in around town. Know what he said? "Ain't no real work here, and I ain't flippin no burgers." Well BY GOD you ain't hungry, and you ain't down on your luck if you can afford to pick and choose! A real man with mouths to feed will scrape pigeon crap off of underpasses if his kids can eat. Yes, the job market is bad, it's also compounded by lazy arrogance. I guess it's good I don't know where hungry kids are around here, I'd end up getting in a fight with the parents.

Ahh yes, cheapside. Williamson county's ghetto. It's no wonder with the city officials. Always trying to be a big carp in a little pond. Fairview would be a wonderful place to be if it wasn't for Fairview. Jackasses for city officials, and the chief of police should star in a Cheech and Chong sequel (dope head). Schools are better, marginally. I went to school with several people who graduated and STILL can't read. I dare say there's hungry kids here, but the majority of school and city officials would be too busy trying to turn this town into a "Little Brentwood" to notice. BTW: Not that it matters but my family has lived in this same area for over century.
