I 'll dig the pit if you guys will gather some stones.

Oh right, the environment. ......meanwhile, we're being eaten alive by the DEAD! I love the smell of styrofoam dissolved in gasoline, in the morning.

You know, I don't want to see some homemade, A-team hollywood gimmick that we all know won't work. I'm not going to believe many people have access to a flame thrower either, BUT Why are people shooting zombies? Do we forget on of the oldest weapons of mass destruction? The cleansing power of FIRE. Some Mason jars filled with gelled gasoline anyone????? I hate to ruin the zombie parade with common sense but dontcha think the military would have incinerated entire cities from the comfort of an F15 eagle using Mark77 fire bombs or sumthin'? I watched the history channel talk about air dispersed fuel type weapons that literally set the air on fire. WOOT! That'll work. Do a week of flyby's to look for survivors and broadcast as much as you can. Then, set a fire in the necrotic flesh of the undead. It's something I will be considering. Fire that is, not the F15's

Something else that's a good thing to play with during "safe times". When you're starting a fire, let it almost die out and try to save it. Reason being, when you need it most, you will only have one dry match left, and prepare all you like, your fire will try to die out on you. A good skill to have is the ability to keep it alive. Of course, if you ever used a fire piston or friction to start a fire from an ember, you already know this skill. Also, I know it's been mentioned before, but you guys that burn wood in a stove should really learn to cook on it. Look at all that wasted heat. I know there's a few of us that'll use the wood stove to run a pot of chili or beans. I use mine to reheat leftovers, heat cans of soup still in the can, just open the can and stir:) Lots of possibilities.

Interesting concept, but destroying the hull by cutting seems stupid. It renders it useless after one shot. I might be inclined to try this, but I'd keep the hull intact and crimp properly. Then I won't have to worry about a pellet getting loose in the gun as he warned and I could be assured proper feed and function.

I'd go with the XDm. Although I don't like the M either. Have you looked at the standard XD? Now that's my favorite there. I don't subscribe to the "M factor" as better.

At least the guy was decent enough to remove himself from the gene pool....DOH! Did I just type that out loud?

20rnd Pmags are awesome. Personally I think they look better to boot. Granted, cool looks don't kill zombies so I have plenty of 30's. BUT, for gunrange use or trotting around the field/wood I'll usually have a 20rnd in place.

PETA lawsuit seeks to expand animal rights - Yahoo! News WHAT??? This makes me want a fish sandwich. I'm all for treating ALL animals with respect, but good god! They're citing the 13th for a killer whale??????

There is a small safety concern that lingers in the back of my mind, but WOW!!!! That is incredible. I remember a few years ago seeing a tv program where a guy took his granddaughter fishing. He drove the van, tied the hooks, baited the hook, then took a pack of Lucky's and Zippo out and had a smoke. He had no arms either. Amazing.

using dryer sheets to clean a gun????
Caster replied to TN Outlaw's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
You may get a velocity drop after using dryer sheets. The bore, being reduced in or completely rid of, static cling, would have less drag and therefore a small reduction in pressure as the bullet moves through the barrel easier. I would certainly stay away from Snuggle brand sheets as they could have the opposite effect. By "fluffing up" the rifling, the interference fit between bore and projectile could cause massive pressure spikes. -
I got an Ebay special on the way myself. Should be here today hopefully.

That's just mean man! To get her mind dwelling on something like that. It's the absolute gospel mind you and I agree 150%, but good mothers worry and you just made it worse:)

I've wanted a P38 ever since I was a kid and mom bought me Megatron (transformer)

Man I hate you've had so many problems. I'm going to be in the market for a 12g auto later this year. I was thinking of looking into the 930. Now, I may start looking somewhere else first.

Due to the complexity of the 21st century child's mind, I'm guessing it took you what? 15-20 minutes?

Riiiiiight;) We all know what your up to:tinfoil:

Mine has so far. I just dropped it in the cat's water. Still works:) I think it's brighter, although not as focused, than my surefire.

I shot one for a while. Even handloaded for it for a time. The Yugo is pretty neat for reloaders; By shutting off the gas valve it essentially becomes a straight pull bolt action. Accuracy was really good considering all things. I eventually sold it, but I enjoyed it for sure. Good score hawkeye, they are great rifles.

Marine Reservist shot, mistaken for bear
Caster replied to Lumber_Jack's topic in Hunting and Fishing
RIGHT! There is no such thing as an accident. I HATE the word accident. Whoever invented the word "accident" should have been beaten. EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING that happens like this is because someone screwed up. Maybe there was malicious intent, maybe not. I don't dispute that either way, but this would NOT have happened if the dumb sob had of known what he was shooting at. I know this may sound really off the wall, but if you aren't 110% sure of your target AS WELL AS YOUR TARGET BACKSTOP, DON'T FIRE THE WEAPON!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hope they hang the guy for it. People make mistakes, but mistakes like these should never be made. When I pull the trigger on game, I not only see the target but also what is behind it. If I don't see and understand both, finger off the trigger. This is the kind of crap that makes me almost agree that everyone should NOT have the right to own a gun. If you are this friggin stupid, you should be in a colony, segregated from the rest of us. -
Honestly, I'd HAVE to tell him that he is certainly entitled to his opinion, and likewise he is more than welcome to kiss the cheek of his choice; on my butt. I would also have to tell him that while appreciate his point of view and input, that I would like him to kindly keep nose out of my business.

No I don't. I keep it well lubricated. I used the term hiccup because that's what I am looking for. Not necessarily a full on failure. I'm looking for anything including inconsistency in where the brass falls. Right now they all land just off to my right rear. I wouldn't dream of doing this without spraying it down with a lubricant periodically.

I clean mine after every trip out...unless I don't feel like it (about 25% of the time) and then I don't. I'm not going to go nuts over it, but I do like to keep them clean. A few years ago I parted ways with all but 2 rifle calibers. .223/5,56 & .308 I washed my hands of all corrosive ammo as bad as I hated to. I loved that old stuff and never minded cleaning up after it. BUT, now I ONLY shoot ammo I have loaded myself. It's so clean...I just don't stress about it. If I go out and shoot several hundred through my AR, good bet I'm cleaning it. If I just shoot a magazine or three....nope, not doing it. My handguns are even more so. I rarely clean them. My cast boolits just don't lead (took a while to get those loads together:)) AND, I am trying to get my XD to jam. I don't want to intentionally sabotage it, but I want to know where she's going to get a hiccup. My XD9 gets sprayed liberally with remoil, wiped off and put away. I'm up in the 3K range so far, I haven't been at this long. The pistol has over 10K through it since I bought it. It refuses to yield. Cast boolits in an auto can get a touch dirty and right now it looks like someone pooped in there, but it's still banging away. That all leads me to believe that cleaning is overrated and there's a big difference in maintenance and anally retentive OCD. I REALLY want to clean it, but I have to remind myself, this is an experiment. Besides, how do we expect to survive the impending hoards of undead if we can't trust our weapons to carry on for long periods???
