Educate me on bear hunting, just doesn't seem right to me
Caster replied to 10-Ring's topic in Hunting and Fishing
I know if I were to see a pack of dogs like that on my property, I'd start putting them down. I love dogs, but sorry a pack of 10-20 dogs? Pits too? Nope. Disgusting. The only place hunting dogs have IMO is bird hunting. Now watching a Brittany Spaniel or a German short hair work a field in search of quail.....Thing of beauty. -
Of course you can. I used to be under that hoodoo mumbo jumbo spell that you'd wear out your springs. I learned better. I do rotate my magazines with some regularity, but ALL mine are loaded. You know, not only is it convenient to already have them loaded, it's a handy way to store ammo. My system, load them all. When I empty them, I refill them and push them to the back of the [storage] line. As many as I have, some stay loaded for a year or two depending on what load I stuffed them with.

Sheriff tells citizens to carry a concealed weapon.

Me too. Granny always told me (While helping me straighten out whatever I just screwed up) "Well son that's what you get for thinking." -
Well, they're both good colleges offering good educations to those willing to work hard........oh crap, you were talking about sports weren't you?

Loot followed me home (No more plastic guns for me)

I'm Mecgar magazine fan. I replaced all my XD factory magazines with them. They build good magazines, period. -
*Another XD9 THis time in FDE to match my FDE AR. I have a green one to match my Green AR. Color coordination is so much fun. *AR-10 I'm thinking of abandoning my bolt actions for one, I've yet to decide though.

Oh God, I'm sorry.

Well the 3 function Ultrafire light is great so far. Very bright. Pending battery life, I'm very happy. It beats the surefire I have. The strobe function will induce epileptic seizures!!!

My wife just bought me a leather bound hard copy of the complete fictional works of H.P. Lovecraft. The father of modern fictional horror. I like the fact that most stories are short stories, but many of them loosely fit one another after a fashion.

Finally after waiting, my $35 ebay/hong kong special arrived toady. Charging the batteries now. I will make a comparison tonight between my older Surefire [(2) 123 battery] not sure what model it is, I've had it for years, and the (5) led (3) AAA battery, Coast light from Big Lots. To be perfectly honest, I think the Big Lot's lights may be factory seconds (I mean, for $8 come on) because there is no colored bad or model designation like the picture I grabbed from their website.

And DaddyO comes in for the Win! Even when a person has earned your trust by risking everything, don't trust them. I suppose it might be better to say, never fully trust anyone, and always have a contingency plan in the back of your mind.

Don't mistake my meaning Robin48. It's not an insult. It's how the strong survive. To some (here) it's comes as no great surprise, but it's going to be a REAL eye opener to some of the blind sheeple some day. If given no other option; As horrible as what Shane did, fathers will feed a good friend to the dogs to save his family. The bulk of the country is so weak stomached and shaky kneed, they wouldn't know how to handle seeing something like that.

I know this is geting off subject, but I don't think people understand the gravity of that statement, when it comes from the mouth of a real man. It can be a lot scarier than the zombies.
-
That is a very good summary of how despicable some (high percentage) humans are, not just Shane.

I guess if we are really dreaming in the clouds, it'd be a Hamilton Bowen M1917 Replica using a Ruger Redhawk and chambered (5shot) .50 action express.

Well, I agree, that was a douche bag thing to do. BUT, what would you do for a child you loved? NO, it does NOT justify it. That's not what I am getting at, and I know it isn't his kid, but let me pose a question (you don't have to answer) to all you fathers; What would you do to save the life of your daughter/son? This is ONLY my opinion, but even if I am your ally, if you wouldn't put a bullet in me to save your child, I question your legitimacy as a father. I have said for years; The people of this country have not a clue as to what horrors we will see in a cataclysmic event. The armed "redneck", outdoorsman, sportsman, (what ever you want to label it) that genuinely loves his kids, will gut you like a fish when their lives are dependent on it. If I had kids, I know I would. I have had the privilege of being allowed to be friends with other peoples children in the past. I'd put a hole in the Pope's head for any one of them.

Maybe the guy hadn't made any money that day and needed every dime??? I hate haggling so that suits me right down to me boots.

If they are the cause for holding up traffic I would think they can. You know it's funny how people are about certain things. None of us are for any laws that encroach on our gun rights but there's supposed to be a basic premise to all laws (and yes I know it's not that way anymore, but it's SUPPOSED to be) You are free to do whatever you want unless what you are doing infringes on someone's right to do what they want. You people are free to ride your bikes, that's great. You have a right to be out there pedaling like a mad man. Does right to be out there supersede another's right to drive the speed limit and not have their progress impaired? I guess it does.
-
No, they aren't in conflict. It just means you wouldn't be able to pass. As such, the bikers should be fined for obstructing traffic.

Check out the broad with the Walther G22 bullpup. I bet she can really lay down a base of fire with that. Did Jake from Topshot head this up?

It's a beautiful idea....if it were a hundred years ago. Nowa days it's like Lot searching Gomorrah for righteous people. How many competent people do you think you could find out of a random gathering of 100 people. If anyone thinks that number is high, they are deluded. People are dumber than they ever have been. Scary thought, just how stupid the public is. I don't want ANY government involvement in anything in my life. Tin foil hats aside, the power wielded by the feds scares me. The sheer stupidity of the public scares me even more. You know, it'd be an easy thing to do it like a drivers license. You can drive any kind of car you can afford if you have a license. SO, pass a course for ownership. We are all willing to do it for a carry permit. SO, any licensee can own anything he/she wants, carry it whatever. No more NFA, no registration of weapons, nothing. Competent citizens that have a license can have anything they can afford. Hmph, this wouldn't work either, stupid people are sneaky.

Thinking of getting into reloading
Caster replied to Wingshooter's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Mike, you're gonna keep yappin' about that 458 till I get the bug for one. Hmmm wonder how a turned copper slug of say 350-400g would work in that thing?
