I've wanted one of those for a while. If it had a side loading gate, I'd already have it. Henry makes a really nice rifle that affordable to us workin folks.

I got a gen3 for Christmas. Now, I ain't a Glock afficianado (yet) but I just like you, don't care for interchangeable backstraps. So why bother buying a gun with more parts? Parts to lose, break or whatever Murphy's Law wants to throw at you. I have only had mine since Christmas eve, but I wouldn' take anything for it.

uuhhh huh. Sure. We all know the truth...it was Berlin that got you hooked on the soundtrack. Admit it!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NEOem7U2LPE

I'm confused as to why you're running a vertical and an angled front grip.

I've heard this all my life....when can I expect to see some results?

For real. If any of you guys [35 and younger] saw it when it came out and say you weren't on the edge of the seat, I have a word for you. Liar. It sucks now because of the massive leaps in cinema technology and story writing. There was a day when I didn't believe anyone could whoop B.A. Barakus, sadly, he wouldn't stand a chance agains Jason Bourne. Movies and TV have come a long way but back in the day, all that stuff you call crap now was cool as can be.

Yeah...I got nothing. Sorry.

Admittedly it IS against Cragslist policy sell guns on there, but it does go on. I have sold several myself. One must be a bit vague and sneak about it, but it can be done. The last one I sold on there was sold under a set of reloading dies. I listed the dies [which are perfectly okay to sell] and in the last line I wrote, I also had a matching unloading tool. It sold the next day. Only intelligent people really get the innuendo so that's a good thing too. I'm not saying it's right, but I've managed to pick up a few bargains on there. A few Mossberg pumps I've had came fro, craigslist and I got them for a good price. Too boot, everyone I have dealt with had no problem with a bill of sale and showing ID. There are a bunch of flag nazis on there that flag everything, I call them flaggots. They come and go, but a group of them will get together and flag anything that they don't like. Doesn't matter if it's against the rules or not they flag it. I used to war with them about keeping my ads posted, but it's easier to disappear and repost it later, with totally different wording. You just have to be crafty in your listing or your searches. Obviously searching guns or rifles will get you nowhere. The last Mossberg I bought was listed under tools as a cat dispatching tool. You also have lead launchers, bang bangs, don't forget obvious misspellings too. Good luck and don't get caught, they will ban your IP address.

The only thing this pistol has going for it is some serious fun factor. If it were me, I would wait for the Raging Judge to come out. It's going to be a 28g revolver. That will be awesome.

"while waiting for police to arrive, he made the man clean up his own blood..." I almost crapped my pants when I seen that!!!! AND HE WAS DOING IT!!! The hoodie clothed thug was scrubbing blood off the floor!!! This was beautiful!!!!!!

The last DPMS trigger I put together felt like I was trying to squeeze a lump of coal into a diamond. As for being wow'd by the $165 price tag....I gave about $200 for the last Timney I bought, worth every penny. With the exception of the single set trigger on my CZ, it's the bet trigger I have ever felt.

A guy named Brett [at least that's what the woman he was with called him] who robbed my house at gun point when I was 4. He was never caught. After staring down the barrel of a cut down shotgun, I've been held close to a gun ever since. ...a faithful companion is a well maintained firearm.

Yeah, I bet!!!! With a 1,649 cubic inch, Packard made/Rolls Royce Merlin engine cranking out between 1,500 and 1,700 horse power. I'll bet it rattled your guts pretty good when he throttled up!

imo The Outpost rests heavily on the gov. contracted laurels of Barrett. Everytime I have set foot in the place I have been treated as a burden. Funny I have never seen very many customers there. The Outpost sucks. I wouldn't buy so much as a box ammo from them if they were giving away free Glocks with every purchase.

Out you go! No room here for a pale face here. Send him to a work camp.

Oh...in that case you need to have the headspace checked properly. If you plan on ever buying more than one rifle in this caliber or you have buddies who have/will, a set of gauges are a wise and worthwhile investment so you can do it yourself. Good luck.

Reduce your load maybe???
-
Yeah I really like 'er a lot!!! I think a lot of my wife too:)

We're talking about a bolt action right? If so, do you reload? If so, headspace is not an issue as long as it's not ridiculously excessive. Method: Dedicate one lot of brass to the rifle. Full length size, prime and use about 10g of unique with some sort of filler like dacron quilt batting. Load the powder and a small pinch of filler stuffed [but don't ram it like a muzzle loader, just push it in place] and no bullet. Fire them all, then use only a neck sizing die. Never full length resize them! Load your starting charge and work up from there. Enjoy. This procedure [in some fashion or another] is used by most everyone who seeks great accuracy even from high dollar rifles. Apologies if you already knew all this.

Another victory!!! I been tinkering with this old Ishapore, okay. Once a thorough enema was performed, it is VERY clean and a PERFECT bore. So my first time out with a cast boolit load and lo-and-behold SUCCESS!!! I used Hornady match brass, fire formed, neck sized and run through an M-die. The boolit is a Lee tumble lube gas check that falls a VERY consistent 168g after gas check and lube. It's supposed to be a 160g [but straight wheel weights often fall a bit heavy] and .312 diameter. I slugged the bore and it's a bit oversize [stupid indians!] at .310-.3105 so sizing them back to .310 was easy. Loaded with a winchester standard large rifle primer and 10g of Unique. First off, they are a SUPER cheap load to make. Second, all I can describe the recoil as is laughable. I actually had a guy at the range walk over and ask me what was so funny. I let him shoot it and he was snickering too. Next is accuracy...I had NO issues busting clays offhand at 50 and 100 yards. I shot 50 rounds and had zero...ZERO leading. This load is so easy on the brass too, by neck sizing I'm guessing I'll get dozens of loadings out of this lot of brass. I figure they cost me about 9 cents apiece to load. Heck yeah! three round group at 50 yards. Rifle shoots a touch low off the bench. Dunno why??? Don't care. -
what is on your adult beverage menu for the evening?

Okay fellow boozers, a question: Wonder what the shelf life of a bottle of Coffee liqueur is? I found a bottle of this I forgot I had. It's been sitting on top of the fridge collecting dust for the last 4 years. -
Wife got me a few additions to the zombie kit. Some motivational films. LOTR's on Bluray/EXTENDED version. There's a ton of new footage in these versions! It's 5 o'clock somewhere: She also got me something called a Thrive by Toshiba. Some kind of tablet computer thingy I have no idea how to operate.

What are you plans for Christmas? Doing anything special?
Caster replied to mav's topic in General Chat
Wake up late, eat, go back to bed. There'll likely be beer in between there somewhere. No family here, just me and the wife thankfully. Nothing against ya'lls family, but as far as I am concerned I reason it like this: If beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy, then family is proof satan hates us and wants us to be miserable. Cheers to a quiet peaceful day, free from bickering and resentment.
