I have yet to figure out how people are shooting themselves while using the Serpa. I've used one and didn't care for it, but I never could figure out how people could be stupid and absent of mind enough to NOT know where their index finger is. I mean, I can only see things from my point of view, I don't know what it feels like to be someone else, but as limited and laughable as my skills are, I know where my finger is. Are other people so confused that they don't have a conscious idea of what their motor functions are? I know I'm going to step on toes when I say it, sorry, but, If you pull the trigger while removing a gun from the holster, you're a friggin' idiot. As far as indexing your finger on a Serpa...try what I did: Cut a small appropriate size piece of skateboard grip tape and apply it to the release button. It will give you immediate feedback when you come into contact with it.

If you want to take her someplace nice, but quiet, try Jimmy Kelley's. You will not be disappointed. It ain't cheap but it's cheaper than Ruth's Chris and the steaks are every bit as good. The service there cannot be beat. Quiet, yesteryear atmosphere, romantic. Two folks can eat for a C note plus tip if you're not a cocktail drinker. Took my wife for our anniversary. She thought she'd go for broke and have desert so she asked for a slice of chocolate cake. I swear to god they brought a quarter. As in, the dang 3 layer cake was cut ing fourths! She was actually a bit embarrassed. I had the cobbler which came in a jethro bowl [huge]. Stoney River is also not too bad.

Me too, but put this guy's aimpoint on an AR10 and give him the same run of boars:)

...or had a semi auto.

I've had no experience with a single shot, but I have fired several from a czech VZ24. It was a sweet rifle a guy I used to work with built. Loaded with 158g cast boolits I cast for .357 it was a real little putty cat. Loaded on the upper tier with a 280g soft point, it was a sledgehammer. It's an extremely capable cartridge.

Generial Powder Help - ball or spherical
Caster replied to MarkInNashville's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I may do that this summer. This has peaked my interest. Maybe I'll refrigerate some and put it in a cooler, then while I'm testing it, I'll set some more out in the sun of midday. I should have already done this, shouldn't I? -
Generial Powder Help - ball or spherical
Caster replied to MarkInNashville's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I haven't noticed major accuracy differences in the ball powder I use, when shot at the TN extreme temps. I'm a ball powder fool. I like AA2520 and WC846. They meter flawlessly, and give extremely satisfying results. All my powder and loaded ammo are stored in sealed ammo cans, but my shop is not insulated. They do feel cold of winter. My shop doesn't get too hot in the summer though. Shade and ventilation help a lot. I find accuracy to vary little to none, but then again, I'm not the worlds best shooter either. All I know is, I have had the best success with ball powder especially in my AR's. WC846 & AA2520 burn VERY clean and give better accuracy than I am capable of utilizing. -
I bet the owner doesn't have a problem with employees rightfully carrying either.

Well, they're free to let their money buy them happiness, but I fail to see any application for it. There's nothing it can do that a .50 BMG cannot do. After a certain point the amount of muzzle energy becomes moot. I will be hard pressed to accept that it can penetrate half as well as a .50 AP. I'll never believe it's more accurate. The rifle is ridiculously clumsy. The cartridge could have some antiaircraft applications on a mounted platform, but what can it do that a 20mm or 30mm cannot? If they're happy with it, I'm happy for them, but I can't see it being anything more than a useless toy.

Ah well. I used to day dream in class of a magical item similar to the BloodStone oF Fistandantilus that, instead of allowing the user to swap bodies with another human, would allow me to swap my 80lbs of glasses and acne with my character sheet. I wonder how much people would laugh and make fun of an 18th level black robe mage? Back to the real world, paper & die based RPG's will forever be the target of those who lack the understanding. It's the price player pay for being a part of something so enriching. Metal head, I wanna say that video is so wrong....but it do trigger some flashbacks.....LOL!

I had a preference for psionics myself. When Dark Sun came along I was in heaven.

Lets just hope she never becomes involved with a man named Raistlin.

3rd edition is crap. Simplifying the rules for the unintelligent masses is crap. It's supposed to be difficult to understand, it keeps the community close to one another. Wish someone here played, I can't bring myself to throw these out.

Don't hide. They can't make fun of us anymore, we all carry guns now:) Seriously, I was digging around and pulled out some remnants of days long gone. Just wondered if anyone still got together and played?

A properly placed 70g Barnes from your 223 will put a deer inyour freezer. It just means a little more care and discretion on your part. Its not big deal for reasonable people.

Chinese Ammunition – Disarming Americans One Gun At A Time
Caster replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Yessir! One thing don't like about 45 colt that I load: I could easily fit a TRIPLE charge in there. I did it to see what it looks like. Before loading I always double a charge one case and stare at it to get it in my head what to watch for. Then I pay close attention to each and every one. For this cartridge and any others I ever load where a double charge is possible I weigh each charge and seat the bullet on the spot. No filling a tray full of cases first like I normally do. Even in the Blackhawk I shoot them in [which is a friggin tank] it's a game you don't ever wanna play. -
Cheaper....eehhhh. Cry now, or cry later. Buy a GOOD mount for the Nikon now. That'll be significantly less than the magnifier. Put the Eotech in the safe. Save for the magnifier. The eotech, even on aging eyes, would be better for that elusive zombie hoard that looms like a shadow over us all:) Seriously. I learned the hard way. There's a reason cheap crap is cheap and good stuff ain't. It's not snobbery to refuse to accept the substandard or even mediocrity. The Ruger SR556 deserves something quality and you won't come back later cussing Caster for bad advice when you do buy top shelf stuff. Once it's paid for, it's paid for. Give it a few weeks and you'll never miss the money spent.

Background check vs. gun registration
Caster replied to littlerivermike's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
What difference does it make if the feds know you have a gun? Do people really sit around in the dark stroking the stock of their gunshow bought AK thinking, They don't know about the precious...my precious. My God, no wonder the term "gun nut" is a negative connotation. We got a bunch 'tards acting like Sméagol. -
RIGHT, and there can be no name by which this system can be known other than THEFT!!! SS and misappropriated tax dollars is the outright theft of american citizens money. In other countries they cut off thieves hands, but in this country we keep electing them, giving them cushy amenities and retirement/pensions that dwarf any working mans paycheck. I often dream of the days of the old west where thieves would hang in town square.
