Handgun in Vehicle, while having a drink at dinner?
Caster replied to a topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
There you go, from our own trusted legal man. It doesn't matter what you can drink. If you get stopped and he thinks ........ It a deep hole you have just fell into. AND for what? A snort of hooch. This is not a case of right and wrong, this is a case of what is and what is not. I'm not clear on why people are so combative about it. -

Prices on Armslist ? Anybody else thinking the same?
Caster replied to plank white's topic in General Chat
This is true, if and when you ever feel unsure.........walk away. It isn't your soulmate or your sisters honor, there's millions of them. I've seen a few deals on Craigslist, cleverly disguised. After a round or two of e-mails, trash, delete, and block user. There are all manner of predators out there. Constant vigilance is your best weapon. -
Handgun in Vehicle, while having a drink at dinner?

There's a rift between people here on the subject. Apparently some think they are in complete control of their person while drinking. Personally I'm a drinker who loathes the idea of drinking in public. My non biased opinion would be for you to do a threat assessment of the situation. Do you really think you'll need the gun, if there's a chance then it would behoove you to not have your senses dulled in the least bit. Also, the threat of losing your permit. We all know that just because something is legal, doesn't mean it's legal. It only takes one cop who's had a bad day to make your day even worse. Is it worth it? Even if you beat it in court, was that drink worth it? IMHO, drink at home, or leave the gun at home. OR, get you a designated driver with a permit. ...and no matter what notions people delude themselves with, inebriation starts with the first drink. The fact that you can't feel it means nothing. -

Maybe, but unless there's actually proof of wrong doing, it's really no one's business and digging into it would be baiting, entrapment, or an invasion of privacy. -

I bet a dollar it was a reduced charge reload with the base of the bullet drilled out. No way he'd just wince and walk off a 10mm.

States Do have the right to circumvent the Constitution of the United States? Seriously? They may have usurped the ability but they do not have the right. Any more left wing misconceptions you need to get straightened out, we're happy to help.

I have a Grip on the front of one of my AR's too. I like it very much. I also have the option of putting a light there if I need it. A light on an AR, Glock, XD, M&P ect makes sense. Lights and lasers hanging on a .22, revolver or a lever gun ...... Well, there's a time and a place for most everything.

OOoooooo. Many possibilities. Think 45/70 when searching for molds. Lee makes a 500g RN with a gas check. They would be devastating!! I think they'd really shine sub-sonic and suppressed. What ever you engaged would feel like they had been run over by a dump truck. VERY doable.

Lead poisoning is a valid concern but I believe it is one that most people take too far. I've been around lead all my life and there's nothing wrong with me with me with me. Seriously, don't eat or smoke or touch your face, and good ventilation is pretty important but the real danger isn't with the clean stuff, it's when you are smelting lead from wheel weights. I wear a respirator. It can get VERY nasty. As far resizing jacketed bullets, it won't hurt a thing as long as your not trying to size down a great deal. I have made many a .357-.358 jacketed bullet into a .355-.356 for 9mm. A little case lube and run it on through. Of course I'm referring to Lee's sizing dies, not a more traditional lubrisizer type. I have a .224 sizer that I run pull down bullets through. Not all of them, just any with burrs or large deformities. Works perfect. Also, in a pinch I have sized .303 british bullets back to .308. It's not a big deal as long as you don't try anything stupid. Jonnin, pure lead is used a lot in slower things. Think slugs and muzzle loaders. It's so soft though, you're right, you can whittle on it with your pocket knife without hurting your knife. I use pure lead for 12g slugs. They're uhhh...pretty devastating. I don't think 20 is excessively hard, depending on what you're trying to accomplish. It makes a great ball load facsimile.

That's right. They shoot incredibly well. I load them over Unique strictly for my Ishapore 2A. Accuracy is very good and recoil is an absolute joke. I have a CZ chambered in .223 that has more recoil and about three times the muzzle blast. I would never do it extensively, but you could shoot these loads with no ear plugs and never have a ringing ear. I probably will never do anything with it but bust clay targets, but it is an absolute joy to do so with. They explode like a pipe bomb from the slow moving lead slug too. I know what you mean about being busy. I've made some changes to NOT be so busy this year. I've worked hard for the last few years ferreting away quite a bit, especially 9mm. I plan to burn the bulk of it this year. I will be shooting a lot more this year, getting better with this new Glock and I'm trying to work out taking Advanced Handgun I at the Range Inc. this summer.

Williamson County. I shoot at CHMR mostly.

Where is everybody? Everyone wants to find ammo cheaper, I'm sittin' here tellin' you how to make it cheaper.... Lead is more expensive than ever and you can STILL save money here. The above pic of the .45 acp was loaded with a 200g bullet I cast, pan lubed with bullet lube that I make, using range pick up brass and bullseye. It's a very light but snappy little round and in all honesty, it's about the most accurate load I have ever run through the Taurus. Wish I could convince a few of you [local] guys to get into it. I meant what I said about CoOp working together. I love to cast and I'll bet you a dollar I have more time to cast in a day than most of you

Hmm, I'll have to watch that again, I swear I heard the hollow *tink* of empty brass.

Boy I would like to, but every M&P I've handled doesn't feel right to me.

Little dogs barking warning and shooting legalities
Caster replied to graycrait's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Do you mean your little dog barking in the house? That's a home invasion and you need no justification for that. -
I think I have a new respect for Rick. Did anyone notice him putting the empty brass in his shirt pocket??? Does this mean he's a reloader? There's not enough time in the show and they don't want to lose their target audience, so they'll never show it, but I think Rick has a Lee Loader or even a Lee hand presstucked away in his things. Go Rick. Now if I could just see him by the fire casting a few bullets he'd truely be my hero!

Ohh, you're too late. I drank a 44oz cup of Glock koolaid in one gulp. I'm in the process of trading off the last XD for another Glock. The wife is mad at me for being a Glock hater for so many years. Now that she's shot mine, she loves it and wants to know why she's had to do without. As soon as we can, we'll be a Glock 19 only couple. As far the Taurus, it's fixed...sort of. The trigger is fixed as is the slide stop spring. The trigger, amazingly enough feels better than ever. I shot it today and I had several failures to fire. I loaded the ammo last week. I picked up all my brass and the primer strikes are VERY weak. I never had that problem before. Never. I figure the trigger is not pulling the firing pin back as far. The way the PT's work, they have a ten mile long trigger pull. That's because in the process of the trigger stroke the firing pin is completely cocked and released. It actually makes the PT one of the safest pistols to carry. Anyway, I'm going to tear into it tomorrow. I'll pull the pin, clean everything very well, and maybe stretch a little tension into the spring. The gun is precious to me, so it's not going anywhere. I won't be carrying it ever again and shooting will be very light and casual from now on. Once it's back to being reliable, I'm going to pack it away in my bug out bag. It'd be a very nice last resort pistol. Back to the Glock though, I've been buying everything I can afford for my Glock. I've got a foothold on magazines, not enough, but a start. I'd like to have a dozen for each gun eventually. I bought a Lone Wolf barrel so I can shoot cast bullets because well, I cast bullets. I also put an extended slide release and extended magazine release, though the mag release needed some file work to round out the edges and trim it down. It was actually too extended. When I get the wife one, I'll do the same to it and buy up an extra part or two every time I go to the gun show. They're cheap insurance. I have a Ruger Revolver that I play with. It's a serious toy, not a serious tool. I wouldn't hesitate to trust it but it's just a toy. As far as I'm concerned, I'm done with other handguns unless [like the ruger] I just want a toy.

Doomsday preppers false sense of security

I know it was wrong of me........but I laughed when he passed out. If you're gonna be dumb, you gotta be tough. -
So they say. Most of the time they're close....but this is TN and if is a big word. You know what they say, if you don't like the weather in TN, give it a minute, it'll change.
