It's the idea of it though. A small group run with everyone having a say so will get killed. I like my freedoms as much as anyone and there's no other country I'd rather live in, but look at our country. Would you survive in a small group when TSHTF if you're all constantly squabbling like a bunch of delegates? No. Under such circumstances, men need to be TOLD what to do. How well do you think any military would operate if people had a say so in everything, all the time. All the swollen chest, super proud patriots cry in an uproar when this is said but it's true: A group of men who are justly and fairly ruled can accomplish more than men who are left to their own devices. At least in small groups. We all know what happens in large groups. The ruling class get lazy and corrupt and need to be hanged in short order. Power corrupts and all... And I don't think it's much different than hitting a ban button. The leader makes a decision and it gets done. Period.

Right, a small group monarchy. It might not be the comfortable decision, but if I were Rick I would shot Shane already. You are right, there can only be one leader and his word must be law. If you disagree, LEAVE. Look how smooth TGO runs. Take it as example. Opinions are listened to, all of them, but at the end of the day one man, one decision. Opposition gets the hammer of justice. In a SHTF situation things MUST be run that way.

Loads for 30-30 win. lead cast bullets?
Caster replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
2K FPS is pushing too hard for the average plain base bullet. There are guys who can get close, but it's not advisable. That kind of velocity with a plain base bullet will most likely give you a bore full of lead. -
I wouldn't go to Rivergate mall if I was open carrying a squad of Marines. All the malls suck. They're just a dump tank for people to ditch their kids for while

Loads for 30-30 win. lead cast bullets?
Caster replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
I would say for a good place to start though, try Unique. I'd say around 8g to start, but I don't have my manual to reference at the moment. ALWAYS double check what you read against professionally published data. -
Loads for 30-30 win. lead cast bullets?
Caster replied to jeff43's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Hey jeff, what are you wanting to do with them? It makes a big difference. If its plinking and for fun then the load will be much lighter than if you need to kill something. Also, some info on the gun is very important. We need to establish proper size too. Happy to help, just give me more to work with. -
Depending on the hands of the machinist, anything is possible.

Who around Nashville can hone a 12 gauge barrel
Caster replied to Dad03's topic in Gunsmithing & Troubleshooting
Order this from midway and do it yourself. Go slow and keep it oiled. Stop and patch it out often to get rid of debris. You won't get anyone to do it for you for $50 and you'll get to keep the hone. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/323326/flex-hone-shotgun-bore-hone-with-protective-stem-coating-34-12-gauge-800-grit -
Well, More failures to fire today and getting worse. Some took 5-6 pulls to get the gun to fire. Something else is going on. BUT, I'm done. I have a safe in the attic where I have a few guns that I cannot, for various reasons, sell. They all belonged to someone or some sentimental something.... The gun now rests in its original box and is headed to the attic safe that I call the sea of forgetfulness, to which I will cast it. If I could sell it, I might put more effort into it. It's kinda liberating actually. Now I can take all my 45 acp dies and such and put them away [most likely] for good. This was my last 45 I had left. I'm done with the cartridge now. I have a close friend that has been shooting my inventory of 45 reloads. He'll be so happy to know he's going to be getting a good deal on the last 2K I have left. I've talked about caliber consolidation before, though I don't believe anyone agrees with me about how relieving it is to rid yourself of another mouth to feed. But it is! Now time, effort and funds can be put into the only pistol calibers I actually like. 9x19 for work, and 45 colt for play. Goodbye little Taurus, James Hetfield sings of your fate......

wow. Just wow.

Don't understand how he could even log on though. Looks like if he was banned, it wouldn't accept his user name and password when he typed it in and hit enter. Not saying you're wrong, only that I don't understand.

Who knows. Ghost in the machine?

Right. Super Moderator Lagerhead posted that IPB is not showing that he is banned, but he is. Read here:

I actually agreed with a few things he said, but I too got a bad vibe from his open desire for revolution and war. I believe it may come down to that, but to openly desire it and promote it? Come on. I'm guilty of spouting off too much without thinking my thoughts through, but..... I missed the reasons he got banned, but I agree, I don't feel like he'll be missed and TGO is better off without all the warmongering. Not surprised, TGO has some of the best moderating staff of any forum I have ever visited. *edit* Make that THE BEST. They hunt down BS like a pack of wolves but I have never read one single thing that makes them look like bullies. Can't say that about a lot of other sites. +1 for the TGO staff.

It means that pistol shoots best with Alliant Green Dot. A blue sticker means it shoots best with Blue Dot and red with Red Dot. HEY! You're reading it on the interwebz, it HAS to be true!

I don't know if I agree that Jiu Jitsu is THE best, but I will say it is awesome. If it's a hand to hand fight that lasts more than 30 seconds, the chances of it going to the ground are very high. If it goes to the ground and your opponent is trained in brazilian jiujitsu, you're screwed! Can't beat them Gracie's on the ground!

Blunt talk about potential for ammunition shortage
Caster replied to QuietDan's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I don't buy loaded ammunition as a rule. Most people shoot more in one trip to the range than I buy all year. BUT, I will say that DLM will be seeing my version of panic buying between now and november. This is a good point with me. I was a victim of panic buying back when....I bought powder and primers like a mad man. I'm only now starting to get even close to the low mark. I don't see anything I did, including the 35K primers I bought at once, that has made me say "Well, I wish I hadn't bought all this." In fact, I think I'll devote most of my free $$$ to buying up brass, powder, primers and maybe a new mold or two. Toss in a few 20mm ammo cans for storage and the stuff lasts forever. Hooray for panic buying. The good folks at Hornady, Lee, Hodgdon, Alliant ect and their employees appreciate us. -
I've been working on a new plan that I have developed. Some people want to bug out, some will bug in but I plan to 'bug around'. I'm working toward being mobile while bugging in. When the big one hits, I feel it best to stay put but detach myself from the rooted position of my home. Staying put but working out of my camper and treating my current position as though it were a bug out position. I dont care to elaborate too much, but great focus would be on being mobile all the while trying to carry as normal as possible. Depending on how people are reacting I may ease around known positions of good cover watching the small community in which I live. Not actually going far but not being static either.

Any good Krav Maga instructor will give you the tools you are looking, as a side bonus you WILL get in better shape. If you progress at all, you won't have a choice but to get in better shape unless you are in top shape already. IMO, Krav Maga is one of the best there is and it's not because I am a staunch supporter of Israel. Not many martial arts get to the point any better. So many of them deal with fit, form and all these katas and other crap that's only beneficial if thats what you like. Krav Maga is more of a ' Neutralize the threat as fast as possible so you can move on to the next enemy'. Don't get me wrong it's very involved but from what I've seen they focus on crippling your opponent by any and all means necessary; As fast as possible. Not something you'll learn at the local Karate dojo.

Anyone remember Conan the Barbarian? The step mom and grandmother need to be tethered to a similar carousel contraption and whipped while they push it.....until they lapse in to a seized coma.

Makes me wonder what else they have done to her. It takes more than verbal threats to frighten a kid into do that. Most kids I know would have just hit the dirt and sat there no matter what was said to them. I feel sad for the little girl who never got to live her life.

Are the SEALS getting too much publicity?
Caster replied to strickj's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
I wouldn't want to meat anyone at a bar, certainly not a Navy Seal. -
Sorry. It can't be emphasized enough. Too many stupid people in the world. If it gets on your nerves because it's *duhhh* well then be proud because you are smarter than the average internet video making gun nut. For every video you find like that, you can find one of someone doing something really stupid.
