  1. Got better my eye! You're under quarantine for the next few days.
  2. First, trying to stay on top of hardness numbers will drive you barking mad unless you are dealing with proven alloys which most of us are not. As far as velocity limits, it has more to do with proper set up than anything. You can drive pure lead to 2,000+ before you get nose deformation and other issues by paper patching. With plain base bullets the thing to watch most is size and having a perfectly smooth base. Any little tears or voids in the base will allow propellant gas to find a spot to start melting. The vast majority of leading is due to hot gasses either melting the base or gas cutting from an improperly fitted bullet. For rifles, unless I am purposely making a subsonic load, I don't start with one. This is such wild, almost alchemical area where information can be easily misinterpreted it's hard to know what to do. Everyone does things differently, I don't know much but what I know has been learned from trial and error and time sent swearing while scrubbing lead from my bore due to a bad choice. The REALLY maddening thing is that the load I have developed for me, it won't work for the next guy. Even if he has the same kind of rifle. Jeff, don't give up. I suggest you pick up a pound of AA5744 at your next gun show if Unique isn't working for you. If you're not getting any leading then the size v/s barrel is right on. You just gotta find something the rifle likes. It's worth the effort. I know because I am a lazy sob but I still do it.
  3. And I thought HALO jumpers were crazy.
  4. There is one good thing to come from that though. WTSHTF, they'll be gone in the first 8-10 months and think how things will calm down with them gone? This country would have great promise with that cancerous tumor removed. I'm all for that. Go Bob Barker on this...Have your ghetto trash spayed or neutered.
  5. Glock with a Lone Wolf barrel. I will go to my grave professing a love for the XD, but the G19 fits me MUCH better. Everyone is different and it just feels RIGHT. PLUS, Glocks are easier for paranoid delusional buts like me to inventory parts for. I have one XD left. It's an OD green XD9 and it's going to the gun show with me this weekend.
  6. Okay guys, I'm still mad at Taurus for refusing to sell me the parts, but.........I'm going to man up and eat this half cooked crow. I sent the pistol back. Cost me $55!!! I should have been able to buy the parts I needed for less than that. I sent it off thursday last week and the Fed Ex man just dropped it off. All I can say is, well, they done good. They replaced the trigger bar that I just bought, the trigger, the frame pins and get this......They replaced the whole grip frame! The only thing original are the slide and receiver block. They even put some new springs in there for the firing pin and recoil springs. It would have been cheap on everyone if they'd just sent me the parts but hey...It's basically a new gun. I'm not as thrilled as I should be about the grip frame. That frame had TONS of scratches and the stippling was nearly smooth. It had history. Oh well. This crow tastes like but at least the gun isn't ....or so I hope. I haven't shot it yet.
  7. Yes, it took me a while to come to grips with this but it's the God's honest truth. Everyone is always looking for a handy place to store ammo.....magazines are a great place! The Pm will develop feed lip issues if left loaded so they put those fancy dust caps on there. Wow, I'm not sure people lIke Mikegideon and myself ever made it through the day before Magpul came along.
  8. Whaaaaat? 1000? Wow, I'm really doing it wrong then.
  9. Ohh uhh, I meant link...
  10. Okay, I'm watching the newest episode on my dvr. WTF???? The Kentucky pistol? This is by far the dumbest crap I've ever seen. The friggin ball is falling out of the gun. Is this a gun show or a looney tunes cartoon? Why aren't they patching the balls? Chee Kwan couldn't make it over the rope swing! Sorry Chee, you are the weakest chink, you should be saying goodbye.
  11. If he gets off easy I bet the other troops will suffer for it. One thing about them muzzies, they're tenacious about the causes they support.
  12. I love it. Very well done. BUT, Is it just me, or does having that AR pointed at the back of my head make driving a little nervous....I know it ain't loaded.....right....are you sure?
  13. Two El Monterey chimichangas from the microwave slathered in Kroger brand salsa, and a PBJ sandwich.
  14. HA! It's certainly possible.
  15. Not for .223 A Maglula is faster in the long run. Almost as fast loading the magazine, but you don't have to sit down and load the stripper clips. I use them for ANY bolt action rifle though. They're a Godsend for mil-surp bolt actions.
  16. Pppfffttt, Daryl Dixon don't need no gun. Why bother giving it back. Notice Daryl Dixon is alive.....I don't see Chuck Norris anywhere! That's right, I said it!
  17. Yes and Rick gave it to Carl and told him to keep it. I was pleasantly surprised by this. I'll bet you a dollar and a quarter Rick is happy he did that now!
  18. Funny. If we have to base all our opinions on the news we read and the fact that we are not getting the whole story, I wonder why anyone bothers to talk about it all. AND, maybe I'm wrong because I'm not interested in giving anyone who killed women and children a fair shake. And I don't care. There is a difference between apathy and flat out not giving a crap. I've lived long enough that I'm comfortable in the fact that I don't give two wags of rats ass if my opinions rub against the grain of the masses. I sleep well at night, I don't need anything from anyone for the most part. I wish you well Major Kong. Carry on with your good fight
  19. What do you want from me? Sympathy? God bless the engineers that have built our guided munitions and SUPER accurate artillery. At least the casualties are a mere fraction of a percent of what they used to be. As a people, we have a lot answer for.
  20. Yeah, Glenn is trying to be act like a gentleman. The pharmacy thing with Maggie wasn't a gentlemanly thing to do, but hey, it was one HER initiative so Glenn's gotta do what a Glenn's gotta do I suppose. I give him kudos for wearing a parachute before he made his HALO dive though.
  21. Yeah but if me and you starred in a zombie flick, where would the drama and suspense be? I mean, what's entertaining about two rednecks sitting on the roof with a few thousand rounds and a half dozen rifles? Coleman cooler, a loaf of fresh bread baked in a dutch oven earlier that morning to make sandwiches out of that thin sliced deer we smoked two days ago and a twelve pack of beer chilling in a Zeer. Solar powered iPod playing the Zepplin box set. A few hours later we pack up and move to the next location. ....yes, I've thought about it many a time.
  22. No I'm guessing it has something to do with Chevy trannies?? Turbo Hydramatic 350/400 Or maybe not.
  23. I care very much for our troops, but if he's killed women and children then he deserves to be skinned and burned alive.
  24. If they were going to do that, they could just dig out the tooling for the 3913. It was one of the finest compact single stacks ever made. Still is.
  25. Yeah, I stole the idea from an AK I saw here. It's wielded by a Random Hero.
