Being as this is a bolt action, you can get a collet neck sizer die set from Lee for less than $40 A Lee hand press for less than $50 Source a QUALITY digital scale, a pair of cheap calipers and some components (powder, primers & bullets) and you can fit it all in a .50 cal ammo can. For less than what you'll spend on three or four boxes, you'll be up and running. Those 80 pcs will probably last you for about 10 or 12 loads if you stay off max loads.

Don't misunderstand me, I'm not calling you out or anything, but I'm having a very difficult time accepting she's not much of a shooter. This may also come off as a sexist comment as well, but typically, no lady is gonna grab an automatic rifle and have that much control. Muzzle discipline, trigger finger, leaning into it, she's really got it under control. I know it may not recoil like a BAR but I have seen multitudes of grown men at Knob Creek with much less control than she exhibits. She's quite capable and/or you are a helluva instructor.

I know families that are so tight, you couldn't get a feeler gauge between them. To say I'm envious would be an understatement but I didn't get dealt that hand. The only intelligent and responsible choice is the one you are most accurate with. The old argument of bigger is better is farce. Holes kill stuff, put holes in it and it will go down. The ONLY way to make this decision is to extensively shoot both an look at the paper. Remember, a .22 short that hits beats a .50 BMG that misses. Only hits count. I moved away from .45 auto years ago for this very reason.

If he loved Rugers, a 1911 doesn't make much sense. If it's to honor his memory it should be something you KNOW he would have loved. Rugers can be made into quite classy little gals. Google Hamilton Bowen. He's in east TN and one of the finest pistol smiths on the planet. He knows more about Ruger single actions than Ruger does and that's no joke. There are more affordable options as well, but if pops loved Rugers, and you KNOW he love Rugers, why not get a Ruger? A smith in Franklin built the one I have but he's slower than molasses in the arctic.

First, I am NOT affiliated with this guy in any way. I'm always looking for nice, better ways to store reloads. I've been through lots of options from bulky and difficult to store plastic boxes, to home made boxes, you name it. I found this guy by chance while digging around the web. He's right here middle TN too, so your money stays local. I just ordered a pack of 9mm boxes and .308's. The pistol ammo boxes are made like the old WWII era 45 ball ammo boxes.
