  1. Custom built Ruger Blackhawk. Her name is Isabelle. There was a young lady I loved dearly. Tragically, she was taken from me long before I was ready to let her go. I miss her terribly, but I think fondly of her when I shoot. This pistol is now my memorial to her. I even had a holster made with her name on it.
  2. Hot Dangit ya'll. Quit nitpickin' the details, you're rurnin' my new favorite show!
  3. A living history??? That makes no sense.
  4. My newest creation, the first batch finished tonight! 38 special: Lyman 358429 170g [actual weight 161g] cast from dead soft stick on wheel weights. Air cooled they are very close to pure lead. My own lube recipe, CCI primer, 3g of Bullseye all wrapped up in some very sweet Norma brass. Can't wait to test these out this weekend in a buddy's pistol. I don't even own a .38 right now! Finished up some .45's today. Properly packaged and ready to go.
  5. Oh not that thing again! I think I just threw up in my mouth a little.
  6. HA! that's awesome!
  7. My wife has one of the little hand held ones. We don't have any carpet so it's all she needs. It's been worth every penny she paid for it. It really sucks....no wait
  8. I've never loaded a single powder charge from an electric scale. Never will. I did have a Frankfort Arsenal digital scale that I used for weighing bullets. I used it for about a week. Never worked right. One evening I set on the floor in my shop and I beat it with a dead blow hammer. Dust pan and a broom.....all beam scale ever since.
  9. I prefer the Eotech. Even over the aimpoint. I am red/green color blind and I have GREAT difficulty finding the red dot and staying focused on it. Couple that with a bad astigmatism and, well... The Eotech, having a ring around the dot draws your eye to the dot, and quickly. This along with the different intensity settings may help with failing eyesight as well.
  10. Honestly, I know it's kinda mall ninja, but I like a single point sling on a saddle ring carbine. Might talk to a 'smith about making yours into a saddle ring [unless it's a collectors rifle] and then, it will look appropriate.....well except for the sling
  11. I know there's a lot of serious cannon shooters here and there that actually like zinc cause it's much cheaper than lead. You get a lighter ball for the size, but in trade you get a little more velocity I suppose. They sure would penetrate well as hard as they are.
  12. If any of you shoot cannons AND you cast your own cannon balls, please send me a PM. I have some zinc ingots I will let go cheap. I don't know how much zinc I have, I am in the process of smelting zinc wheel weights right now.
  13. That was the law....over two decades ago. You carry anything you dang well please.
  14. Not whiskey. Vodka and even more so, pure grain alcohols. Reason being, they are multi purpose. Not to say a 20 year old bottle of scotch will be worthless.
  15. Not all of mine are named, but the ones I have a particular fondness for....yes. They have names.
  16. Did you mean Thunder Bowel?
  17. Well, put the fired cases back in try to feel where it binds. I would say it's at the top where the counterbored area for the case rim is, but that's just an assumption.
  18. Wow, really? I hate your truck brother. No way would I want that! Pull into a parking lot, put it park and gather your things when all the sudden mutant zombie ghetto thug snatches open your door. What kind of truck is it? ...and yes, not clearing the weapon is scary. Can you imagine getting shot by your own weapon because some doofus who should know better...didn't? Yikes. Be careful out there!
  19. If you don't live in the immediate area you could file a complaint. Your best bet is to let it go. Cops are not attorneys. Few of them actually KNOW half the laws they are charged with defending. Don't get mad, but I fault you a couple of things. First, why weren't your door locked? Second, it's none of their business that you had a rifle. You also stated there was no ammo in the truck. That doesn't mean anything. As a carry permit holder you can have the magazine loaded also, you just can't have a round chambered. Overall you did good. Don't get in a fussing match on the side of the road. Keep the door locked, have all your papers ready before they get to the door, keep you hands in plain sight and be courteous. I would not have told the officer about the rifle and as far as the pistol, they DO have the right to take you weapon until they determine the situation is safe. There was never an unsafe condition in the first place but that's a bunch of he said she said. When they back you against a wall, cooperate as best you can and demand for their supervisor. The lack of knowledge is almost understandable, but the non professional conduct and being rude is NEVER acceptable. Like I said, even though it boils you blood, it's best to let it go.

    Glock vs 1911!

Hmmm, I like this James fella. Tells it how it is.
  21. Actually the Judas thing goes waayyy back. When in doubt I find decapitation works universally. Even if not permanently, separating the two will usually lighten the tension of the moment enough to allow you some thinking/breathing room to plan your next move.
  22. Au Contriare, the leeches descendent of Judas are highly allergic to silver.....wait...are we really going there?
  23. Sweet. I've been wanting to do a .308 Garand for years. Now maybe the price will be low enough on a donor that I can.
  24. Can't wait to see the finished pistol. Dang... that's a complicated little bugger. Makes me appreciate my Glock even if is butt ugly by comparison.
