  1. Funny. My AR's are the only gun i own I don't cast for. It's difficult to resist, but I'm just going there. Unless of course I ever get back to building a 300 BLK. Then I'd cast for that baby.
  2. Yeah, but that's too much like work.
  3. Well, even if there is, you are sacrificing reliability for it. Low power loads may not cycle as well. If you go that route, test them thoroughly.
  4. As I posted in your other thread, how about an older small caliber revolver? There are some really small Smith's, Iver Johnson, H&R & NEF pistols. A .32 would probably fit her hand. Just be mindful that the gun is in solid shape as a lot of these are out of time. For the price some of these go for, you can afford to have a competent smith check it out first. Obviously, she isn't going to take up competition with it. A box 50 would likely carry her for the rest of her days I would guess.
  5. AND that's it??? A gun you REALLY want and you're not even gonna share a detail huh?
  6. Wouldn't that be a vote of NO confidence? I'd like to make a vote of no confidence in the leadership of every politician that is currently consuming oxygen.
  7. Yes. Where'd you get it, I want one!
  8. I told people around me years ago that O'douche would pave the way to making it illegal to grow your own food. Everyone laughed at me. The harder you make it on the farmers, the more farmers will say screw it and do something else. Remember, you can have all the guns you want but if you control food, you control people.
  9. I have done more than 500 a day a few times. I'm glad I am ahead of my reloading enough that I don't have to do that anymore. I've done a 1K in a day but we're talking an 8hr day, my back was feeling good, two tramadol and several Vault sodas while listening to The Prodigy. Get the rhythm and roll on. The next day I question my sanity as hobble through the day like Quasimodo. Now I cast about 4 days a week through fall and winter to build an inventory for spring and summer.
  10. My wife bought that off slEaze-Bay years ago. It's Swedish and built better than a dozen modern made items combined.
  11. Unless you can afford to put a 12 grand Magma in your backyard, you are right. Casting is not necessarily a labor of thrift, it's a labor of love that, if you LOVE IT like I do, saves you a lot of $$$ but will cost you a fortune in time. I have a lot of time, so what do I care?
  12. This ain't cop bashing, this is Friggin' moron bashing. D-bag bashing. Idiot bashing.
  13. They are out there! Despite opinions contrary, there are lots of GOOD cops. There's some dang fine ones right here on TGO. I'm privileged to know a couple of 'em. One dirtbag tarnishes the reputation of many. It's a shame it works that way as many cops work diligently to maintain a good name and good relations. There's a couple of good cops here in town. They are friends and good customers to my family. ....and they will STILL write me a ticket! ...but I deserve it if they do and it wouldn't affect my opinion of them one bit. Good deal on meeting a good one. BETTER deal you and gramps walked away. Did you spill you tea?
  14. Feels good don't it?
  15. You can get inch and an eighth diameter marble on Ebay for around $10
  16. The whole country has their collective panties in a wad over some Floridian ghetto trash, but not a soul cries foul when this dog or that soldier went down. If anyone is crying foul, it falls on deaf ears.
  17. Sobieski is a Polish name. You could call her LeeLee affectionately.
  18. If I could vote these posts up more than once, I'd do it a dozen times or more. Good for you. Keep the ghetto mall ninja cråp off there. Looks good too!
  19. ...and I need to let this go before I type something I will seriously regret but I will say this. Where ever my dog gets shot, there too will I make my final stand. I have no problem leaving here and being off to the next life over something like my friend.
  20. Not me, I love dogs and I care very much for good cops. This guy......burn in hell coward. I hope you get separated from you weapon and pack of strays find you. Rest in peace Cisco. Meet this cop at the rainbow bridge and chew his face off.
  21. First, I'm not a big fan of this kind of optic mounting, but my choices are somewhat limited. More so since I refuse to modify this rifle. Second, This rifle is the most fun I've ever had shooting a bolt action. That's the reason I love this rifle ten times over any other I own. Despite the fact that it's worth less than half of any of my others. It's VERY accurate for what it is and it's favorite load to date is a 168g gas check spitzer cast from air cooled wheel weights and tumble lubed, 12.5g of Unique, Win LR primer and Hornady match brass. I needed something for my deteriorating eyes. Irons, as much as I love them, are not my friend any more. SO, I made a block that fits into the rear sight base [light press fit] held in by two screws in the side, and leverage from a set screw in the rear bears against the block and sight base in the front. It looks a little shifty but it is rock solid. Couple that with the fact that my cast loads recoil about the same as a .223 and it's good for good. Slapped a 2x Nikon on there and viola! Zero modifications. Next I am going to build a micro tool set: punch, screw driver and small round of solid brass to use as a hammer. I'm hoping to fit these in the trap door of the buttstock along with the sight itself. We'll see.
  22. I'll tell anyone what they'd do as prez. You'd be manipulated by the bureaucrats and career politicians. You'd do as you are told and be hated by the public for it. Your only other option would be to get a ride in a convertible past a school book depository.
  23. Think older revolvers. There are some .32 caliber revolvers out there made many moons ago that are quite diminutive. Be a sweet deal for her too if she can chisel out a cavity in an old bible to keep it in there. Unassuming is the ministers wife with a King James bible in her hand. "..And I heard as it were, the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying......Eat hot lead, filthy sinner!"
  24. Exactly and another thing, who'd want to shoot a stranger's reloads? I'd be hesitant to shoot a good friends loads [though I have] let alone someone else. How do you know what kind of gumby that guy is? Wait..what? Did someone call me?
  25. Somebody needs to put these judges in their places. I swear they assert more authority then they were ever meant to have. Most have a serious god complex when wearing their frilly black robes. Those black robes don't instill a lot of respect for me, only fear. Much the same fear I would feel if I were to see another [similarly evil] set of black robes. I'm all for law and order but judges from top to bottom are completely out of hand.
