  1. For what it's worth, suppressor spin off pretty easy. If there are no survivors, who's gonna tell the media in the first place.
  2. Castboolits is a great forum for lead nutz like me. The guys there are very trustworthy, I've done several deals over there and all have been great. Here's a deal for you Mike: http://castboolits.gunloads.com/showthread.php?t=146702&highlight=300+blackout
  3. Personally I would find a Zastava made M57, but there's nothing wrong with the Polish made ones either. If it speaks to you, that's the one.
  4. Yeah, but you know the crap media would twist and spin it in some way to make you look like a killer instead of self defense. I mean, a person with a permit could likely carry a Glock 18, but that'd be a very bad idea.
  5. Oh those do so very well with that powder. What rifle, barrel length and twist? I ran 24g and was VERY happy with it. Dolomite ran a touch more and was equally pleased. I would tell you to start low and work up. 22g or so would be a fairly safe place to start. I wouldn't go much past 25-26g. Dolomite is in the 25.? grains and we both agree that it's close to the upper tier. Much more would be a bad idea. BTW, the powder does it's job. I use Montana Extreme 50BMG solvent and it is POTENT. I can usually get a couple of blue patches after only hundred rounds but I run a dry patch through the bore with a tight jag and got the powder fouling out and then soaked the bore in solvent for 15 minutes. NO blue on the patches. The first one had some more powder residue but no copper. The rest came out a little off white. Woot!
  6. That barrel gets any longer you'll start losing velocity on that poor little short. ...and if you miss, you reach out and bonk 'em on the head with it.
  7. Wonder what charges would get filed against a person who put one through his head?
  8. Okay, good deal. SMP 842. Start low and work up slow. By the time you actually see pressure signs, you may already be past max pressure so watch yourself. ....and share your results.
  9. http://yhm.net/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=2_8&products_id=126&zenid=b9e6e8adbe592158425e88b5361adf7d It could work. Toss a pair of these [or the shorter ones] and slap a scope on that puppy.
  10. Depending on the load and where he hit the bear, it could be lodged in a fatty area and as such, would not bleed as much. THe fur would soak up a good bit until he was out of tracking range.
  11. I have the same Eotech on one of m AR's. I keep a couple of packs of Lithium Energizer batteries for emergency use and a couple pairs of GOOD rechargeables. They'll pay for themselves quick.
  12. Sad part is, the bear will likely die from sepsis or gangrene. You gotta do what you gotta do to survive but dang, that sucks. Note to self, when in bear country, leave Glock at home and bring enough gun to put the animal down.
  13. I'm a weirdo [iMAGINE THAT!!!] I'm going to build mine on an A2 upper. I don't think I'm going to use an optic on mine. I have the upper receiver, a carbine free float tube and BCG. I just need the barrel/gas system and a front sight and I'm in business.
  14. Ahh, Gotcha. Thanks.
  15. SHOT WHO?!? You mean physically attach it or you just need to be that close for it to work?
  16. That's not happening. It's ain't gonna happen either. Any that peak an interest in those who are collecting them get pocketed, the rest go to the recycler.
  17. FTFY
  18. Well, to be honest with ya, I've been asking HIM for snow, but he keeps telling me no.
  19. Sounds like a plan. AND Any gun that looks/feels questionable could be stripped down to bare frame, sold for parts. We could then stick the frame in a Kurt vice and use a face mill to make into a lot of little pieces. Depending on the gun, the sale of it's internals could net more than the whole gun.
  20. I think s too. I have had better results from the longer 73g Amax than from any of the small bullets I've tried. Even with my screwy Chronograph I could tell a difference.
  21. If you do, let me know what the over all length of that bullet is please. I wonder what it isn't close to the 62g steel core I shoot a lot of. It'll certainly be longer than any regular lead core 62g. I've tried their 70g triple shock and grouped 5 rounds in about .600 @ 100yards They're pricey so I only bought 100. I shot half and tucked the others away. If I were to take up deer hunting with a .223 it would be the one to do it with.
  22. I've got fried green tomatoes growing on the vine. If we don't get some rain, I'm going to have blanket of ash. Almost all my rain barrels are empty.
  23. Right. Good bit of difference. You have a chronograph? Love to have your results with the SMP842
  24. I doubt very seriously that's what's happening. It's a don't ask don't tell policy on most of them. It's one of the more brilliant ways of being rid of a stolen gun or on used in a homicide. Wipe it down, put it in a box and get paid for it. No Q's asked. After that, they're most likely destroyed. I don't have proof of it, but I'd wager that's what's happening. Is there proof that the authorities go through each serial number on the ALL the guns taken in?
  25. Maybe, but there'd still be a lot of buzzard feed in that very short period.
