    Smith or Colt

Maybe I need to shoot the Colt first? I have shot the Smith several times with my loads. A Lyman 358429 170g semi wadcutter over Titegroup. At 15 yards it's so accurate it's almost boring. Shooting a bowling pin was fun, just toss it out 20 yards and chase it all over creation. Shortening the barrel of the Colt wouldn't be hard but it would heresy.

    Smith or Colt

I'm on the verge of trading with a good friend of mine for a 38 revolver. He has two, but I just can't decide. As far as condition, they are equal. The first is a model 10 Smith with a 4" heavy barrel. The balance is GREAT even though the grips are dainty for my hands. The other is a Military Colt with a 6 inch barrel. I don't fancy the longer, thinner barrel but I do like me some Colt revolvers. I know for a fact the S&W will shoot one ragged hole all day. Thoughts?
  3. Jokes on fat aside, I have been trimming the fat around here again. That always helps. Freeing up funds to allocate to a more consolidated kit. Glad this came up too. Reminds me I HAVE GOT TO go get a new vacuum sealer. MIne died.
  4. Heck yeah. Stored up for hard times!
  5. I wouldn't. Course, don't you find a hater like me often. If I did trade, it would be to sell the overpriced Baer and fund more reasonable, equal in quality items.
  6. Bass Pro/Redhead is right in there with them.
  7. That's exactly right. I'm only responsible for one guy. Me.
  8. Have ya'll seen Norman Reedus's iPhone? This is his personal phone. Only a real man can make a hello kitty spoof of himself and still be kick aßß!!!
  9. Good for him. Our soldiers need it more than his liver does.
  10. I put mine in a coffee can. They're primed already so I figure if I ever get bored I can put 2g of bullseye in there and fill it with creme of wheat and fireform them. I'm gonna have to be REALLY bored.
  11. Small dents aren't a problem just be sure they aren't large dents. Depending on the caliber and powder, it could up pressures. I've been making 300BLK brass and had to really keep a closer eye on them. It's a small capacity case and I'll be running Lil'gun and H110 so pressure can climb fast.
  12. They have an indoor range at the Blue Oyster bar?
  13. Love charlie, he's such a great guy but does anyone else find his good attitude and happy demeanor a bit foreboding? I mean, every man has a breaking point and a man THAT nice has to be hell on earth when he finally gets pissed. I've seen him correct numerous people for some really dumb stuff and always with the smiles.
  14. Unique is well, unique. You will find that it gets cleaner on the upper end. I was shooting 10g in my 308 and it was pretty sooty. I worked up to about 15g and it was clean as a whistle. As far as the residue, it is neither corrosive or function inhibitive. Why worry? It cleans up really easy too. An oily patch will wipe it away.
  15. Glad you weren't hurt. As far as the broads go; It's what you get for dressing like trash.
  16. 12g is max for me. It's stout but not abusive.
  17. Well, I don't shoot 44 mag but I do stoke a 45 colt up to similar pressures. I use H110 some, but I can get just under 1,200 FPS from a 255g cast bullet using Unique.
  18. You're welcome. I know the cliche is old but it's my best explanation; This aspect of reloading is like Alice in the Looking Glass, Just how far down the rabbit hole do you wanna go. For most people, it goes deeper than they need or are willing to travel.
  19. Okay, used tires. That one went over my head by 30K ft at over mach 3.
  20. I don't know how to process that one.
  21. Yep, he's too cool. He's forgot more than a lot of us know. He's one of those "Been there, done that" kinda guys.
  22. $20 per hundred is a good deal now? Yikes. You need to buy a mold and a press, mate.
  23. Yep, remember the .224 BOZ that was supposed to be all the rage years ago?
  24. Looks like another expensive mouth to feed with limited uses. BUT, it may be JUST what you need to be happy.
  25. Dad03, you won't know till you try it. Good thing is, loading them is relatively cheap. RED333, No, the handle on the bottom is a core pin. It's what forms the hollow base. If you look at the pile here you can see the hollow base
