Admittedly, I don't know much about politics. They talk about the elections on TV and they may as well be speaking Hindi, I can't understand a thing they're talking about. Really don't care much either. BUT..Liberal? What is liberal about the liberal? You can be gay and murder an unborn child or worship the flying spaghetti monster? Is that it? Where is the liberty that is the root word of LIBERAL? If they're so LIBERAL why are THEY constantly passing law after law after law? Conservatives don't want all these laws? I'm confused? If they're so liberal, why are they trying their best to turn us into a slave nation? WHat's liberal about being told what to do in EVERY aspect of your life? Why is this such a mystery to me? Why is such a simple minded, half educated redneck like me able to see that they are not liberals but manipulative control freaks?

Doesn't the receiver opening have to be elongated to eject the longer shell? Seems like I've seen 16g A5's where bubba would grind the receiver open to clear it. They weren't pretty. No way I'd do it. Shot shells are just too darn easy to load. I'd buy a loader, set it up 2 1/2" 16g and make my own.

RIght. You know how boring this board would be if we all agreed on everything? There's some good debates here, We can do without the other nonsense though. One thing about it though, the hammer of justice here on TGO makes Thor's hammer look like a trim carpenter's hammer.

...Customer service department beware. If they did it to you, I'm betting they did it to others. They're 'bout to get an earful.

It wouldn't have cost them anything in the long run to send you some magazines and a RRA Tshirt. You'd be happy and telling a different story. As it is, I bet they've lost a sale or two from the readers of this thread.

The dept. is in an old bank building it says. Obviously well built thick walls blocked the crunch and pop of sheet metal and glass.

I'd have paid money to watch that.

No, there's not much difference in it. As far as quality, I'd say the rifles will run just as well for just as long......BUT that AIN'T what you paid for and yes I'd raise $50 worth of heck over it. They'd do something about it just to get me to stop harassing them over the phone on a daily basis. I'd call everyday and complain until they did something or blocked my number. Then I'd just call from a different phone. Don't forget to write a nice E-mail and copy it. Send that once a day too. If there's more than one email address, send it to each of them.

Well of course. People love "stick it to the man" stories, even if the "sticking" is wrong, people love it.

You know, without bringing religion into it, Solomon was truly a wise man. We got a lot of childish people in this country. I dunno if if childISH is right. More like aged children. .....foolishness dwells in the heart of a child but the rod of correction will drive it far from him. SO, TMF, you're on to something there.

The only thing that's sad is the stupidity of this country. We did it to ourselves. We deserve what we get. -

Our next president right there! That's the spine we need, that's reasoning we need, THAT is what it will take to fix this country. These other goons are only prolonging the inevitable....our fall. -
Funny because no one was hurt. Not funny because that community doesn't have patrolling officers as they should. No cop bashing, just funny what some people have the balls to do when they get mad. http://news.yahoo.com/vt-police-man-angry-arrest-used-tractor-monster-093018626.html

Judge allows paralyzed dad to sue Glock
Caster replied to East_TN_Patriot's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
If we can ride one of these frivolous law suits just think at the money we can pump into worthy causes like Ruger, S&W, Daniel Defense, LWRC, Larue, Johnny Walker & Sons............. -

I'm filing suit against McDonald's cause my gut hangs over my belt. -
Universal is NOT the same. Run away. They are copies and not even a good copy. You will find some that cycle but they are junk on the whole. Buy a real M1 carbine so you can buy real M1 parts. M1 parts do not fit Universal carbines. At least not the ones you see often. There were a few early ones that would interchange but, seriously, I'm one of many who got burned on the Universal. Don't waste your moeny.

Calif. prof.'s email reveals shooting plot
Caster replied to plank white's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
[rant back on again] People have somehow got it in their head that freedom of the press is a right to invasive practices. YOU DO NOT have a right to know ANY details pertaining to some random man whose wife was raped a strangled. You do NOT have a right to know ANY personal information in a tragic situation. IT"S NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS! Likewise, the people of this country seem to think they have a right to know what's going on everywhere. NONE OF US has a right to know what our military is doing specifically. Thanks you Reagan for being the only president in my lifetime to tell the media to piss off. We need a president to act like Reagan did during Grenada. Instead we have Heraldo Riveras giving away troop positions in real time. They should have tossed him in front of a M249 for treason cause that's what it was. Someone tell me why they think we have a right to know names and faces and the actual bullet placement that killed each one of the people in this last shooting? OR the names and personal interviews that the media extorts from bereaved survivors and families? Am I the only one who'd like to see some of these media groups burn to the ground? -
Calif. prof.'s email reveals shooting plot

THink back to Columbine. Jeez, every kid who said the word gun got suspended after that. People are stupid. People are sick. I will tell you this too. The sheeple are worse than the culprits. Which one os more sickening? The whacko who kills several people, or the masses who can't get enough coverage and fine details? People eat this crap up. Face it, the people of this country LOVE sick and disturbing news. It sells. We are a money driven people. If this crap didn't sell, they wouldn't show it. If people didn't buy it up in wholesale quantity, they wouldn't sell. 100 years ago they would not print this sort of thing out of decency and respect for the families. Now they want interviews. "How did it make you feel when your kid got his head blown off?" What kind of sick !@#$%^&*( country is it when people crave this sort of news reports??? [/rant] -
Obviously we all like to think we are smart and observant enough to know something is wrong when we're at the range. In the heat of the moment [no not the Asia song!] I'm not sure anyone is that observant. SO, consider this. It doesn't matter how well built that thing is, Murphy decides to lay down his law at the same time, your life is in jeopardy. You draw and fire and guess what? That thingy broke off and is now......a bore obstruction. Bad day for you.

Question about lead bullets for magnum loads...
Caster replied to JAB's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Ohh and as far as actually doing it, I have several 45 Colt loads I play with. 255g plain base Keith style bullet close to 1200fps. I have a 325gRNFP gas check I can get up to 1400 or so. My wrist doesn't approve of anything more. I don't have a leading problem. In fact, I only clean with patches to remove the soot and burnt lube, and then wipe it down with a clean oiled cloth. I never scrub the bore. -
Question about lead bullets for magnum loads...
Caster replied to JAB's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
It's almost impossible to "buy" a good cast bullet. I don't know why, but companies just don't seem to understand how to size things properly. First two rules of cast bullets. 1> Fit is King. 2> Lube is queen. My meaning. That bullet has got to make an absolute seal in the bore. IF you are shooting a .357 magnum, take one of the bullets you bought. Using a sharpie, number the chambers in the cylinder. Now gently drive one bullet through the cylinder. Squirt a little in in there first. You need to do it five more times, one to each throat in the cylinder. Measure carefully and look for the loosest throat, or the largest one. THat'll be the one that will lead on you if there's a lot of difference. The largest number you come up with, add .0015-.002 and that'll be the bullet size you need. Next slug the barrel the same way. You need to make sure the throats are not sizing the bullet down before they reach the bore. That doesn't mean it's a poorly built handgun wither. Ruger and S&W had several runs where this was a problem. Back to what I was saying about fit; IT has to make a perfect seal or gas cutting will give you leading. People tend to think that the lube is just that, a lubricant. Not really. Sure it does to some degree but a bullet doesn't really need a lubricant. Jacketed bullets don't. THat bullet lube acts like an Oring seal. It takes up the slack where the bullet is not sealing by itself. It's lubricating properties, while important, are secondary. The bullet has GOT to fit the gun. Manufacturing tolerances and variations is why manufacturers cannot get it right. WHy they insist on staying on the low side is beyond me. If you're shooting cast in a 30 caliber and using a .309 bullet, I doubt you will have much luck. I shoot .311 in all my .30 caliber guns. Here's what people can't get in their head. It's really not possible to shoot a cast bullet that's too big. IF ti will fit the throat of a given gun, it will fire. Many is the time that I have developed a load and never slugged the barrel. Slug the throat and see what size it is. Chambering a load to match all guarantees it'll be big enough. I suck at typing this stuff out. If there's gaps in there, I'm sorry. I try to explain it every time someone asks, but I get started and then get impatient. Sorry. Ask away, I love to help people the silver light. -
We're also building mountains out of mole hills here. The Vietcong had stuff in rice patties. They're STILL digging German caches out of the ground in eastern Russia. It's not like any ComBlock nation used highly sophisticated methods of storage. All that stuff has yet to rust. We get mosins in every day that haven't seen light in my lifetime. No rust. The wonders of heavy grease!
