  1. What's up with the emo kid and his "I love you but I've chosen darkness" Tshirt. THe gadget is cool as heck but I could live without the upside down cross.
  2. I was playing outside in the woods of our 50 acre place when I was 5 or 6. Home by dark or my butt cheeks would suffer dire consequences. Although, mom was MORE than happy to let me stay indoors. There's always something that needs cleaning, so feel welcome to stay as long as you like. By the time I was 9 I knew the property lines, I knew that crossing them involved a leather belt and I had no issues telling my parents on a fall friday afternoon, "My homework is done, I'm going hunting, I'll be back in time for church sunday." Maybe my dad would drive the truck back there to check on me, maybe not. Until i was a teenager I was allowed 5 rounds for my single shot .22 and by God you better not take 6. Never needed more than that because I never liked cleaning more than two or three squirrels anyway. Cooked over a little campfire, that time alone was most therapeutic and kept me from going barking mad from idiots I grew up with. I hope that mother wins her lawsuit and gets enough cash to put that kid through college.
  3. $700 may sound excessive and maybe it is to start......BUT....Bet on having thousands in it after a few years. You'll never save a dime reloading....but you can shoot a helluva lot more!
  4. I think he was detailing his current shooting range situation.
  5. The only thing missing on Ruger P series pistols are the tracks. Those things are tanks! Tough, accurate, it will last you ....heck, it'll likely outlast you!
  6. Can't add anything to that. If I were buying an outta the box AR, the Smith would it.
  7. ...And I intend to build a monument to myself and have my body interred in a mausoleum, paid for by the working middle class, on the beautiful hill to my left....
  8. ...and a bunch of dumbasses playing with a book of matches.
  9. Like there's a shortage of old sick mules? They could have easily found one that was in poor health and knocking on heavens door. A good taxidermist could smooth out anything that didn't look good. To beat all, they could have went to any number of wax museum professionals and had a reproduction made. People are idiots.
  10. Of course you do. He also has the ABILITY [not right] to abuse his authority and make your life hell. No, I'm not one to take a lie down and take it attitude, BUT there's a difference in retreating and a tactical withdrawal. It's not cowardice to refuse to fight a battle you know you can't win. Roadside arguments NEVER go well for working men. Go for it. In a respectful and nonthreatening manner, you let him have it. The way i see it though, I'd rather step back and fire from cover if ya know what I mean.
  11. Get you a nice and DRY pine 2x4 and cut it up into blanks. Proceed to make your handle and screw as many of them up as it takes until you learn what NOT to do. THEN, go somewhere like the Woodcrafters store and buy a really nice piece of exotic hardwood that tickles your fancy and you will already know what to do.
  12. If I had to choose between an XD or an M&P I choose a Glock 19.
  13. I agree 99% I will say, I would have complied too. BECAUSE, there's no threat and it's the fastest way to get away from the guy. During the process I would have noted the name tag and car number then immediately made a complaint to his department. Confrontation on the spot is never advantageous so why do it? I would certainly like to but WON'T. I'd bottle it up and ream his supervisor in a setting where there's no possible way I could see the back seat of a car.
  14. If one's not chambered the gun's not loaded IMO. I don't train like the Israelis so it's not natural to me to rack the slide in a panic situation. If my pistol is unloaded [empty chamber] it's not in my holster 'cause I ain't carrying it. If a person is so paranoid OR [more to the point] so unsure of his/her ability to maintain control over the weapon then perhaps that person needs to reevaluate their decision to carry in the first place.
  15. I asked a while back. I was still looking when I sold the gun. You're just about gonna have to ship it out. The local smiths all gave the same "yeeeeah weeeeeeeellllll, see the thing is," *click* I just hung up on a couple. You either can or you can't. Most around this area want no part of it. Lots of complaints about expensive tooling. I understand that. Just seems like you'd know that getting intot the trade. As popular as shotguns are, I believe I'd own a tap for remchokes and win/mossbergs for all the boogered threads where bubba cross threads his choke. Lots of luck brother.
  16. THE most significant pistol ever made is the humble Glock 19 I carry everyday. It's here to guard the life of me and my wife. Can't think of a more important handgun than that!
  17. Okay, this is a Tim Wilson skit but it's one of my absolute favorites. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UW8dWpq83qU
  18. Fixed that for you.
  19. I don't want to participate. I'm forced to. I will suffer the wrath of our wonderful government if I tried to circumvent paying that. ANY system that takes from one person, against that persons will, and gives to others is theft. You are absolutely entitled to what you paid in, but most people will draw far more than they ever paid in. Can't convince me that it was profits for wise investments that allow people to get more out than they put in. Even if I'm wrong and it IS working that way the fact remains I DON'T WANT TO PARTICIPATE but I am being forced. You might as well called it armed robbery because if I refuse to participate and hold out long enough there will be an armed response by our wonderful government. The system is communist crap. Thankfully for you my friend, you're at an age where the likelyhood of you getting you money back is reasonable. My chances are a joke. You make a reasonable argument to only want what you paid in. I'd be happy to make an equally reasonable offer. The crap system can HAVE the money I paid in if they will agree to go away and leave me alone.
  20. 49% ? Bet you a dollar 95% of at 49% are a bunch of lazy dead beats. I'd love nothing more than to see the collapse of all social programs. SS is theft with fancy wrapping paper. It's a communist crap idea and a joke. Many will suffer for the greater good but it's all fat that needs to be trimmed.
  21. Yes it would!!!
  22. So very sorry for your loss. As far as growing up, I've met the man a couple of times, once in the store. That was the first and last time I ever went in. I don't wish him any bad luck, quite the contrary, I wish him the best of luck in ALL his endeavors but he was very rude to me in the store that day. I thought I was going to need to file plea to congress just get waited on. Being polite goes both ways. Doesn't matter now and I don't hold a grudge, I hope whatever he's planning next does well and you all can prosper from it.
  23. Do it yourself portable target stand??? Made In China
  24. We had a boxer growing up. I buried him on my 16th b/day. I still hurt and I'm 35 now. Honestly, I hate dogs. They get ahold of you. You have no choice but to love them. They love you, don't gripe or complain. They don't mind if you gain a little weight. They don't mind if you fart. They don't mind if no one else in this godforsaken world loves you or not. They love you and with the exception of Jesus Christ, there's not another organism to ever exist on this planet that understand unconditional love anymore than they do. They give you years of faithful service and companionship......then they leave you. Biggest religious argument I ever had with my family was over the dog. I grew up in a strict religious household and their contention was that animals didn't go to heaven because they had no soul. If my dog isn't there, I don't wanna go either. It wouldn't be heaven if he wasn't there. I miss the old butt licker. I think he might have been a marine in a past life. He sure lived and died by the creed Semper Fidelis.
