  1. I will say this, if I were in the market for a 45acp I would give a bit of thought to the Para Ordnance LDA Question, I see them with a bobbed hammer. I like that but how do you decock that? In the pictures I've seen I don't see a decocker.
  2. Some might say if you can't save the boobs, who cares if you die from some other disease. Take away beer and handguns too and I bet there'd be people jumping off bridges nationwide.
  3. If its horse manure then why does every manufacturer trying to get business private or military contract demonstrate that their gun will cycle after being submerged in mud, sand, water ect??? The M&P commercial on tv shows them doing that. H&K constantly does that with their prototype battle rifles. When I chose to side with the AR crowd, I heard the same argument fro the AK crowd. AND they were right. In a dirt and debris test, AK beats all comers. I think 1911 owners are funny. You don't see Glock or M&P owners getting hurt when others hate them. They just smile and nod. Say one word about the precious and people come crawling out of the wood work to lay i on you. Too funny.
  4. Right, but what do people have more love for? Three inches up a mans butt or boobies? Just saying.
  5. I prefer "Save the TaTa's" or in the case of colon cancer, Ozzy Osbourne wore a tshirt that read plain and simple "F¥€£ Cancer" in support of his wife's battle with it.
  6. Hardcore pill heads have been shoving Lortabs and Percocets up their ass for years. You bypass the livers natural function. It's my understanding (certainly not experience) that rectally absorbed controlled substances are intense.
  7. Some more words: You'll starve. In a full on collapse silver will be worthless. YOu can't eat it, it's not medicinal [in it's current state of matter anyway], it won't defend you. Basically, unless there's an economy of some sort, it's scrap metal. Non perishable foods, medical supplies, ammo, alcohol, tools and fuel are much better and will ALWAYS have value.
  8. YEah, be sure it's not clicked on one of the other options. I use "Content I have not read" That way when I click "Mark community as read" I don't have to sort through all that again next visit.
  9. Ehhh, 'fore you say that....what do you KNOW. Remember "The Postman"? THe old dude working in the shed amongst all those young people? When asked how is it that you're here? He replied...Meh, I know things.
  10. Just don't drop it in the dirt!

Publix. THe one over in Bellevue carries it and when the new one here in town was built I went to the manager and politely demanded he carry it. He was more than happy to.
  12. By God you said a mouth full ole buddy. That's why 95% of bug out plans are a joke. THere's going to be a lot of couch commandos bleeding out in the holler when they take to the hills.
  13. Good luck with it. Let me know how it works for ya. I've never been pleased with mine. It works, doesn't leak and heats up fine, it just seems slow compared to my pace with a ladle. If you like it, I'l make you a steal of a deal on another. You can have one melting while you work the other.
  14. THose special skills; I have been harping about for years. WTSHTF people will clan together. A community of survivors will have no room for the lazy, infirm or charity cases. That means you dang well better be able to provide a skill, product or service that is essential to the community's continued stability or you will be shut out. LEarn as much as possible people. One day, it may feed your starving children.
  15. Try the other side of the spectrum and maybe load up some 125g bullets. I've had excellent luck with Sierra 125's in the past.

Not me, ya'll can have my share of that micro-brewery mess. I'm perfectly content with a case of Stroh's and solitary confinement in my shop.
  17. Red brings up a good point though with the cerrosafe. When it comes to cast bullets, the bore diameter need not be known [though it's always good to know!] because he's going to have a chamber cast. He can accurately put a micrometer to throat and fill it accordingly. Doesn't matter what the bore diameter is on his rifle if the [cast] bullet fits the throat, it will fire. Many times people get leading even though their bullet is over bore diameter. They can't figure why. An especially loose throat will let gas escape enough to have problems. It's GOT to seal. Start a new thread over in the TGO reloaders section so we don't I'm interested in your progress on this one Red333.
  18. ppfffttt! Look at you! Trying to be all professional er sumthin'
  19. I know I'm right......tell me, did you have to have the two wheeler again?
  20. HA! Tell the truth, he didn't save you any money, you just got a LOT more for the money you spent. Any money you would have technically saved, you probably just spent that too. David is awesome, I got nothing bad to say about the man, but if I did I would say that he's TOO easy to spend your money with. I never leave his table with any money in my pocket. A time or two it's happened that I just tell him "THis is how much money I have, how much can I get for it?" I always leave with more than I can carry.
  21. ONLY with a jacketed bullet. No danger at all with cast. Even if you are not casting, you need to know the bore diameter. if it's oversize, you're wasting materials trying the wrong size bullet. I have seen one or two of these with a .3095-.310 bore and a jacketed bullet made for .308 is a waste. In that case a .311 bullet would work very well. Do you intend to cast for it? I have a mold that would probably work quite well for that. Red333 can give you more definitive words on that once he's done a bit more leg work with his. The bore on any second world country made rifle needs to be checked. Their machining skills, tools and quality control is not what 1st world countries would call "up to standard"
  22. I'm with Dolomite. More damage and wear on the bore comes from you guys who think it has to be spotless than shooting will ever cause. I NEVER clean the bore on my rifles unless groups open up. I shoot cast through every gun I own except my AR's and accuracy will go to if I clean it. I don't know who started this "It's gotta be spotless" bull crap but it's just that, absolute rubbish. In the world of cast bullets, the lead will actually fill any pits, chatter marks or other microscopic void until the bore is very smooth. THe result is a perfect bore. I can shoot a "fouled" rifle and get a one hole group. Clean it and it'll be 10-15 shots of wild groups as large as 4-5 inches. Seen it too many times. As far as my AR's go, I use a LOT of SMP-842 which has the same copper fouling preventatives as CFE223 [although it has a MUCH hotter burn rate] That keeps the copper fouling to all but non existent. My AR's are either chrome lined or stainless. If there's no copper build up, groups are tighter than dicks hat band, zero cycling issues, and there's no corrosive salts present, WHY THE HELL would I want to waste my time & money cleaning it????????? It's stupid. The action and BCG I clean every range trip and I even wipe out the locking lug areas and use a chamber mop to wipe up any mess I made cleaning the locking lugs. I keep the engine spotless, but I rarely if ever clean the exhaust pipe. I'm pretty anal about clean guns. I clean every gun every time I shoot it. I rarely clean the bore though. It's a waste of time with detrimental consequences.
  23. Every day, all day no exceptions.
  24. I have, on large hunk that were otherwise unmanageable, used a wood cutting handsaw and some wd-40 to keep the teeth from loading up.
  25. Your dad is awesome. I can put a fancy spin on it, but it boils down to, David is one, if not THE, finest fella on this site. Period, end of story. I'll echo Mike's statement. YOu got VERY lucky in the dad department. Welcome to TGO.
