Pretty sure we refer to californias as damn hippies
That's a subculture of commies. You have damn hippies, dirty tree huggin hippies, bleeding heart liberals and left wing nuts just to name a few.

I was of the thinking that Yankees came from the north (or Florida) and Californians were more commonly know as pinko commies. I would wager that the transition from Cali-Commie bastage to good ole boy would be more akin to accepting Christ. First, you must confess that your previous ways were unacceptable and commit in your heart to stand against those filthy values in the face of all odds and opposition. Do that and we can get a bit of moonshine to baptize the sins of californication from you, thus cleansing you and welcoming you into the fold.

I've always thought of myself as better suited to be a cult leader. I'd like very much to move out to a cow farm in Wyoming and become a Ranch Dividian.

Sorry, but I say no. I can forgive a man for stealing from me but I will never trust him around anything I own no matter what he does, says or attempts to prove. Forgiveness is a divine mandate but I was never told to trust anyone. Penalties for just about any crime in this country are paltry and weak. If the punishment was severe enough, a major shift in any crime would happen in the course of a generation. A slap on the wrist and possible restoration of status does nothing but if a man knows he will have his hand cut off for theft or be executed the day he is convicted of murder, castrated or executed for rape, so on and so forth, he will think twice. THere will always be crime but it can be dramatically reduced if the people of amerika were not so spineless and cowardly. I DO believe in forgiveness but I will never believe in rehabilitation. A person who steals may serve his time and never steal again but he still a thief to me. The biggest problem in this country is peoples' unwillingness to accept responsibility for themselves and their actions.

Richard Louis Proenneke is my idol. He did it and made it look easy. It certainly wasn't. I know the difficulty for him was great but I bet his stress levels were not even measurable ey were so low. I bet he tossed and turned for 30 seconds or so before he fell asleep at night. In another life, I would live that way. What a life. Fresh fish and berries for breakfast and maybe some caribou for dinner. Spend the morning cutting firewood and the afternoon crafting new parts for the cabin.

I do love my AR. But I think there is a lot of deluded drama in some people's eyes when it comes to the poop hitting the fan. Do you have military or other high quality training to fight with a rifle? Most of us don't and even the ones who do have a long way to go before reaching Jedi master. Do you really intend to allow yourself to be put in a position where you are repelling multitudes? Do you think you would fare well against a large group with an Ak or Ar? The 45 colt, properly loaded will hit like a sledgehammer and will cleanly kill any animal in TN. It can be loded light with a lightweight bullet and take little bunnies or heavy and knock down black bear if you put the bullet where it needs to go. It will feed you and your family. It is handy, quick and since you handload, you should be able to get a great level of accuracy from it. You get seven or eight rounds and it's easy to top off. How long past those rounds do you think you'd be able to make it in a fire fight? I won't make it much past that. I can't say for others. My opinion would be that it would be anincredible first rifle and would do very well for you needs. It will also draw very little attention as well. An AR or AK bring an automatic opinion to the mind of any who see it. The little lever gun is humble and unassuming.

We were in wally-hell a few hours ago. The idiots were standing in line to buy crap that didn't go on sale 'till just a few minutes ago. People are stupid. Sitting in a lawn chair in the aisle at a store like the Stones are in town. Spreading germs, inconveniencing others...typical holiday bull crap.

Nope, no coverage. Thought about, but its not really worth it to me. What little I have is dispersed and I am home all day, every day. If our house is ever burglarized it'll be an armed robbery and if they getaway, I'll likely be toast anyway. I don't keep all my stuff together or even in the house. I don't WANT to lose my stuff but the way I live my life, if I ever do, I won't be in a position give two wags of a rats azz.
If your going to spend more than $2500, just get a SCAR. Went from M1A to SCAR and couldn't be happier. I would like a 308 AR...but would want to keep it under $1500.
Funny how tastes differ. The SCAR is a great rifle but I would totally disagree with you. I have shot one and didn't find it all appealing. For the money I'd rather build an AR10 rifle. Just differences in folks!

You don't need prostate exams or seat belts either. Who cares if a man dies from something he could have prevented by simple measures of fail safe implementation.

Gotta check that out. I'm in that area a lot.

I've been very tempted to build one in 260 Remington. May be a bit odd, but you can form it from 308 brass and 6.5mm rules!!
-
THat's cool, I don't think you'll get any demerits against your man card for that. It's not like it's pink, that doesn't look like a pimpin' gold. Looks good.

Factory Remington 115g ammo is less than $15 per box of 20 at the local Academy sports. That's high to me, but it's also against my religion to shoot factory ammo anyway. In the scheme of purchased ammo, that's quite reasonable. I backslid once and bought a box. I was unimpressed. Then again, once you start down the deep rabbit hole of handloading for such a versatile caliber, the mundane factory offerings are going to be lack luster. You want reasonable to high performance, you go buy the stuff and load your own. Inside of it's intended range, the 300 BLK is a force to be reckoned with. A 208g Amax hits like a hammer.

So, when's everyone planning on shipping their stuff out?

Where would you shoot.......head or body
Caster replied to chances R's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Center mass as they say. The torso does not move wildly and is the largest target. You are responsible for that bullet when it leaves the barrel. Setting the threat aside, do you want it to pass through or by the head and hit a bystander? The center of the body has the greatest chance to stop the bullet. Absolutely train the way you shoot, shoot the way you train and TRAIN OFTEN. I tend to shoot center and a touch low. a touch below the sternum. Reason being, when I follow up with two or three very rapid shots I tend climb and inch or two. Three shot in the torso;liver lung and heart....this guy will have to be on PCP to keep going. If I ever do have to use my weapon, I'm not going to shoot once and then check to see if he's okay. Shoot to stop the threat, that means he goes down. -
I've never understood buying a car. I don't understand why I have to sign 50 documents for a damn car. I've paid cash for a few and just don't get it. If I pay you, why can't you give me the title, a bill of sale and handshake on the way out the door. Should take no more than 15 minutes TOPS.
not listening to anything right now, but whenever I see this thread It puts a smile on my face. Still miss you Shannon. RIP bud
Never knew him. I feel like I really missed out. Here it is at 46 pages, a little part of the guy carries on though.

This is going to start happening a lot. Thank the democratic regime for that. Company owners and executives will just give up because it's cheaper to say screw you and head toward a souther island chain and have some gal bring him a piña colada and soak up the sun. Start counting boys, how many companies will fall in the next four years?

Israeli strike on moving target, populated area

Galil, Uzi & Tavor make dead monkeys galore! -
There may be a gap powder out there somewhere but the two cartridges are too different to really share. The 223 is all rifle but the 300 BLK can be thought of as more of a magnum pistol cartridge. It acts like one and requires powders much the same. The 300 has more in common with a 357 magnum than it does a 223.

Would you believe that rubbish known as "Gangnam Style" is actually a decent piece of music? I would NEVER have believed it, but it's true. Watch what talent can do with crap. This is case in point that genuine talent can turn a turd into a ruby. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UmplmxwE2WM

No need to explain yourself brother. You were chosen for a reason. Hey people, remember its not a democracy here. Keep up the good work.
