  1. So Im sitting here watching "Prophets of Doom" on the history channel and they are addressing the rapid loss of drinking water. Well dang, can't make it, can't live without it. There's an old debate I'd like to dig up. Distilled water. Some sources say its bad fr you. Some say that the removed minerals make it bad but that's bunk because we get our minerals for our food. I've read where distilled water latches onto elements making it potentially dangerous to store. Granted distilled water tastes bad but taste isn't a real concern. Last thing I want is a visit from the revenue man but I'm seriously thinking of building a large scale still. I have a Durastill but it is NOT efficient and requires a lot of electricity. Discuss!

TMF, I agree whole heartedly. Robert, I also see your point. It does all boil down to self control and personal responsibility. I drink occasionally and occasionally I might even be two sheets in the wind. You'll never EVER find me on the road though. Never! I'm dumber than a bag of hammers so if I can do it, anyone can. Drink at home, or have a driver. Anything else and you suck as human being. I know that might step on a few toes around here but I don't care. If you drink, take a bunch of pills, smoke a joint, freebase crack what ever you like, go for it if it makes you happy. If you drive while under their influence, I have no use for you. If your bills are paid, wife and kids are fed and you aren't getting violent, get wasted! That's YOUR business and no one else's, so long as the criteria are met. Drive on a public road and it becomes EVERYONE'S business. Tncobra is right, drunk driver? Get a rope.

Ohh, so lets pretend people are NOT burying their children because useless idiots lack the wisdom to stay sober or stay out from behind the wheel. I thought I would become more tolerant with age. With age comes wisdom and patience. Unfortunately for me, the older I get, the more do NOT have patience for people and their idiocy. As far as myself? I often wonder what life would be like had I been caught and punished for some of the things I've done. I often wish I had. As far as driving goes, I have been so hammered I couldn't properly annunciate my name. Not once was I fool enough to drive. In my young and dumb days I've slept in the yard and woke soaked in the morning dew but NEVER did I drive a car. Seems no matter what people do wrong, there's always sympathy and excuses.
  6. Accuracy would probably suck due to the amount of free bore caused by the .410 chamber.

Sounds good to me but you know well, asi do it'll never happen. I don't care if a man smokes crack in his own home as long as he ain't hurting others. Problem is, it'll never be that easy.

I certainly do! I don't feel it's unjust to punish someone financially for being irresponsible. If you drink in public and don't have a ride or the presence of mind to set that up before hand, then that person should be made to suffer for endangering others lives. Remember the founding principle of this country. You are free to do ANYTHING you want as long as what you're doing does not infringe on the right of someone else to do what they want. Joe Blow getting hammered does not infringe on my life at all. Joe Blow operating a vehicle inebriated DOES effect my right to drive home safely. His lack of personal responsibility is putting me at risk. This is a multi lane highway too folks. You SHOULD be free to carry a gun without restriction. ONE screw up proving your lapse of judgment should resultin the thing being forcefully inserted in your rectum. People REFUSE to take responsibility for their actions and its disgusting. It proves what a country full p-----s we have become. Do what you like should be the first law of the land. Violating another's right to do the same and suffer dire (violent if need be) consequences. Personally I think it boils downto the fact that idiots are allowed to survive. Never before in history were so many morons, lazy, inept what have you; people spoon fed life support to the detriment of the productive.

I'm all for first offense attempted murder. Wreck or not. Start charging people with a crime that will destroy their lives and people will stop (or at least slow down) ruining others. If you operate a vehicle under the influence, I have no value for your life because you obviously have no value for oer peoples lives. Sorry......wait, no I ain't sorry. There is NO excuse for this. You know damn well what's happening when you take the first sip. It's no mystery. What is a mystery is why I see the papers around here; Third offense, reduced to first with a fine. What is a mystery is why mothers bury their babies every day because some asshat can't drink at home or get a ride. What is a mystery is why we allow these people to continue producing CO2 and wasting precious oxygen.
  11. A push mower works if you're so inclined. I've done that a few times. Start the mower and run it close to idle to keep the noise and fuel consumption down. Push it oer the hole, come back later. It will royally piss them off and they will just ground up like burger meat. They will come out of the hole because of the noise and vibration and attack the mower. The majority will never make it out alive, the rest will try to get back into the nest so they die coming and going. I like to lay a board over the discharge to help keep them in. I'm not a fan of gasoline. I watched a good size of ground explode from lighting it. So if you use gas, don't light it. My grandfart poured about a gallon down a hole once. He waited a good ten minutes and then poured a trail back about fifteen feet. When it reached the hole and chunk of ground the size of a basket ball blew out of the ground. Sure it was cool as heck but I was a kid sooooo...... Not as cool anymore being as I don't heal as fast as I used to.
  12. Dang straight. If you can't use it, lose it. Make something out of it you can put to work. Like putting meat on the table.
  13. If I cared, I'd probably vomit.
  14. Shell collection?
  15. I've seen the grass smolder a good bit at Charlie's from muzzle loader patches. Get a couple of smoke poles going and dozen patches on the ground during a dry summer and you'll get a bit of smoke. My stuff would take divine intervention to ignite. You can't get fire or sparks from cast lead. Well, maybe if I was shooting a chunk of flint rock.
  16. If you wanna sell those 6.5's send me a PM with a quantity and price. I might be interested. I have a Swedish Mauser and a Norwegian Krag that'll eat em up!
  17. Somebody is trying to make up for .....short comings elsewhere me thinks. You could hunt all season long with the 45/70's I could load from the lead and powder from one shot!
  18. Might reduce barrel harmonics.
  19. Meh, you just ain't made it to the basement where me and the rest of the jerks and Aholes hang out. LOL!
  20. Kwik seems to be TGO's case of the clap. No matter what kind of shot this forum gets, it still has periodical outbreaks.
  21. Replaced the control box under warranty. Plugged it up this morning and the display worked for a few seconds and went off again. This sucks. I'm just going to live with it and get a better set up later. It all works but the digital display went out again Can't be anything I'm doing. There's only four wires to connect. Black on black, red on red.
  22. Just imagine how offended the dog is! Sweaty turban, no deodorant; take a bath you cave dwelling douche bags!
  23. Every time I turn around somebody is passing a new law or something. I try not be a warmonger on here cause everyone already knows my point of view, but come on! This guy is going to pass a zillion more laws before he's out. You tell me there won't be an insurrection on account of all these restrictions? Hell yes there will be. ....and it's gonna be nasty.
  24. I've thought long and hard about this lately and come to the conclusion that these things are a novelty. Certainly better than nothing, don't get me wrong but they have a modicum of usefulness in my useless opinion. They will not, by their very design, do what a quality dedicated rifle platform will do. I've seen the CZ before and having the rifle barrel on bottom is a horrible idea. Your sights or scope sit way high relative to the bore. I've shot the older savage 24's and they are fun but I don't get the feeling they'd hold up under abuse and the ones I've shot we're not particularly accurate. I'm sure others are so don't take my word for anything. The new Savage is mostly plastic and just look cheap. If I'm going to take the time to actually carry a rifle, I'd heap rather go ahead and drag my AR or one of my bolt guns with a proven load. I suppose I can see it for some people who need a more diverse capability but if y'all would listen to me and start casting for your bolt rifle, you can load a plethora of differing things. I can load my 308 to hunt bear, or using a single buckshot pellet run through a sizer, I can hunt small game. If I were bugging out on foot, this would be the way I go. I'd have a small assortment of ammo ranging from hot to not in lead and jacketed bullets. I see the appeal but upon heavy consideration I feel a person would get much more benefit from a dedicated platform. Just my opinion, yours will undoubtedly vary.
