  1. Uninted Nations Police Taskforce = target rich environment and no moral objection to causing them to rapidly acclimate to room temperature.
  2. Don't get me wrong, I do too,I've just taken up with a slower pace of shooting lately. I'm NOT saying anything I'm shooting is more accurate, but I know "I" am shooting more accurately.
  3. Race war? Humph. Sometimes I wish it would just come on and happen. Then the dust would settle and we'd know for sure just who the big boy on the playground is and get on with life. Race war, civil war, whatever, it's all a joke. The metrosexual man of Amerika has no testicles. What few men actually have a pair are dying out. Modern Amerikanism can be justly labeled 'testicular cancer'.
  4. My interests have done an about face in the last few years. Before it was mall ninja tactical everything. It was ARs or go home. My ar collects dust. I love me some single shots, Savage lever guns, and my bolt action rifles.
  5. From the mouth of Peter, Acts 2:17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: I don't believe these things plagued men of clear conscience years ago like they do now. At least, not with such great frequency. Something bad is coming. AND HEY!! If it ain't, you'll have lost NOTHING by being prepared for it. Quite the contrary, you will rest easier. That in and of itself is worth much. Be prepared for as much as you can. The darkest days of this country have only just begun.
  6. .308 hands down. Ammo? You should be loading it anyways! Now, I can make 308's from .270 brass but you can't go the other way around.
  7. Cngraduations! But I think I would have just got another Glock....or two LOL.
  8. There's used to be a large clique of old farts who shoot their "smoke poles" as they called them; here in middle tn. I guess the got too old and started either dying out or just gave up. I imagine theres several groups around though. I've been tempted so many times. With my love of casting and here lately I have gravitated to single shots, you'd think it'd be a natural thing for me but I just can't get into it. Messy and too many accoutrements needed on the spot. I imagine one days will take the plunge and be upseti didn't do it sooner but not right now. Do yourself a favor though, stick with real black powder. Swiss, Goex, etc. As Dave says, pellets and pyrodex, Triple Seven and all the other 'substitutes' are crap. There's a reason they are called black powder substitutes and not black powder replacements. There is no replacement for the real deal. Making your own is not that difficult either.
  9. The man who can cock a crossbow 137 times is a bad SOB! Mines only 150lb draw and a dozen or so and my back is throbbing.
  10. I feel for you bother....but my garden sure loves it. It's a raised bed and drains very well. I have a pumpkin in there right now hitting about 50lbs or better. I can't get my arms around it. More tomatoes and cucumbers than we (and the neighbors) can eat. Plus it ain't been near as hot and I just can't stand hot weather. Yep, I hate it for you. Laying block and stone in the rain don't work very well dot it? Lol!
  11. Everyone knows its not a hate crime for blacks to attack whites.
  12. Good for them. Screw New Yuck.
  13. Berkey filters are made by Doultan of the UK. According to them removal of viruses is not a certainty. For absolute safety the water would still have to be boiled to kill any viruses. If I have to go through that and still have to pay the $300-400 bucks for a Berkey filter, I think I'll just distill it and get it in one shot. Do Berkey filters have to be cleaned? I know a sand filter will work about as well but the sand would have to be changed at some interval. If the "creek" as you say is relatively clean or even better spring fed and you can get to that spring, a good sand filter would be easiest. I have some food grade 55gal drums. They had 7up syrup in them and I rinsed them well and put where they won't get contaminated. Some play box sand and some fittings....maybe $50 total depending on the final set up. I'd like to have a Berkey but ceramic filters can get damaged. As clumsy as I am........
  14. Yep, that's what I meant when I say vote with your wallet.
  15. Act of valor was good. I loved Defiance. Daniel Craig leads a group of Jews to survive WWII. One of my favorites. Inglorious Bastards is pretty good too although parts are rather boring. What's funnier than a bunch of Hebrew Children slaughtering filthy Nazis? Ha! Great! Gotta throw Enemy at the Gates in there too.
  16. Then that makes half the people in the country who work hard for a living a criminal. I don't know very many people that I would consider a hard worker that DOESN'T flip an item or two for profit. What else can a man do to make ends meet? I said it before and I know y'all don't like it but I think most people are mad about this because they want something today, for yesterday's price. The market dictates price. Not what we all think is fair. If there were no market for this ( meaning people buying it) then they wouldn't be do this. Another thing that'll really ruffle some feathers; people have done this to themselves by becoming dependent on real time inventory. For 99% percent of us, there's NO reason we should be desperately looking for rim fire ammo. It's been cheap all my life up till recently and so I bought plenty based on my theoretical consumption. If you typically shoot a box a week and you only buy a box a week, then you shouldn't be surprised that you're out when supply stops. This really is a silly argument on both sides. My point of view is silly, as is everyone else's. Why would I say that? Because its foolish to complain and worry over the things you have NO power to change. Who by worrying can ad one cubit to his stature? We can't force them to produce more no matter how much we scream. We can't force people to stop jacking up prices. The only tool we have is to vote with our wallet and refuse to do business with those we disagree with. ....and yes I know I'm a hypocrite because I'm constantly bitching about things. LOL!
  17. The country would be a lot better off if she got hit by a bus.
  18. Okay, lets back up. I understand basic physics. Matter can neither be created nor destroyed. So the water that's here, is here to stay. The turning of this world into a mars like desert wasteland is preposterous. The show I was watching was referring to the rapid loss of DRINKING quality water. According to them, the underground aquifers are being depleted a lot faster than anyone s telling us. Since they are nothing more than trapped glaciers from the ice age, they cannot be replenished by rain. Despite people's efforts, pollution still escalates. There's trace elements of some nasty stuff found in the fish we depend on. Millions of pounds of fish come from our rivers and its getting more and more unsafe to eat every year. I don't believe for an instant that water itself will ever be difficult to acquire. POTABLE water....different story. Therefore purification techniques are paramount to a persons survival.
  19. Well, gas stations out in the county don't have an FFL. The local CoOp don't have an FFL. Random hardware (old school) stores don't have an FFL.
  20. None, and mine never will go up. I don't have insurance. If I see a physician I pay with cash or I DON'T see one. Upon implementation of ghettocare I will become a criminal I suppose. I will not comply. I will not pay the fine. They can kiss my azz. I see medical care no differently than a mechanic. I dont get my car fixed and NOT pay the bill. I don't get an insurance policy to pay it for me. Payment due for services rendered at the time of completion. If it costs me my life because I cannot afford their service, that does NOT make them some soulless monster. That's just life. If I can't afford food and I starve to death, it ain't Krogers problem. Jeez! Who sat around and let me run off on that unnecessary tangent!?!?
  21. My God, if one could figure a way to buy some of those big buildings and generate your own power, food and water as well as enough revenue to pay land taxes, you'd be set! That place is ripe for a survivalist movement to pick.
  22. It might make everyone angry but buying for a given price and marking up for a profit is capitalism. If you got a deal on a car and flipped it for a profit, what's the difference? Sure, somebody would be pissed but that's just life. It all boils down to the haves and the have nots. The have nots are always upset with the haves for having something they want. Fair pricing and price control for anything is communism. That's why there are anti-monopoly laws. To keep absolute control out of people's hands. And, as has been stated over and over, there is no law that says you have to buy anything you fell is unreasonably priced.
  23. This is capitalism. It's the way it works. It's not an unethical practice despite how much it pisses people off.
  24. I have a Katadyn in my bug out bag. I'm thinking about ALL water. LONG TERM. Not just a short while for drinking water. What would you do if you can't even come up with water suitable to bathe in? Sanitation will play pivotal role in a society's collapse. If you can't even get a water good enough to wash yourself in, your clothes and what not......you're in more trouble than you think. Most people will never give a thought to what would happen if they turn the spigot and nothing comes out. Scary thought.
  25. My first step has been to collect the items needed to build a sand filter. They are great, easy to build and work very well provided the source water is not overly contaminated. Here's the rub, what if your source water becomes contaminated by man made chemicals? You can't just filter out caffeine or prednisone. What about all the chemicals that can't be removed by normal means? Distilling is the only method a normal man can use to reasonably remove all the heavy metals and chemicals.
