I don't drink but This Saturday we ate dinner and at the next table I witnessed father and mother consume 5 to 6 drinks each while having dinner with their 3 small daughters. I know they were driving them home. Now how am I as a permit holder held to a higher standard than a parent of small children?

Thanks everyone. I got to look at some yesterday. The way I saw them is Baer has a superb finish for the price, STI just not what I am looking for, didn't see any Browns, Wilson's are nice but expensive, Nighthawk was impressive but couldn't find one with the new optic cut. For me the Wessons have a lot going for them for the price. The only thing I fell for was a Wilson EDC X9. I got to hold a couple and although nice the trigger is not as good as my Wessons. Fit and finish was good but not Baer smooth. What got me was the feel in the hand and capacity. I appreciate the store that had the Wilson in stock letting me look but being $200 over list and getting but hurt and walking off when I said I would have to save up for one of these took purchasing one from them off the table. Wife had picked out a $500 gun she had been looking for and I was going to buy it for her but they didn't want to waste any more time on us so we left empty handed. Does everyone in Franklin just drop $3000+ on the counter in 5 minutes on a weapon they had just held for the first time without a little research? Oh well I will say again I do appreciate them letting me look. All said it was a productive rainy day.

Yeah I see the one in the classified add but at this time I just want to hold one and see if it is what I want to save for. 3 Dan Wessons in 2 months is stretching the budget. I would not ask someone with one for sale to show me theirs knowing I am not in the position to purchase.

Had the same thing happen to a buddy of mine. He called me to come get him as the officer would not let him ride the bike off and was going to have it towed. When I got there I asked the officer if I could take the bike home for him and he said sure. I informed him that I did not have a helmet with me and he said you can just use the one your buddy was wearing. (the one he has getting the ticket for) Talk about messed up. He got a helmet ticket and I got to ride off with the same helmet and no ticket.

I had to do the same thing but I refused to leave a handgun with someone that I did not know. They allowed me to keep it in my pocket for the test. I might trust them with the money in my wallet but not with something they could kill someone with. Can you see the lawsuit coming from just handing a loaded gun to a stranger?

I hope the officers that stood with the governor when he vetoed allowing us to carry, also stand up against their own officers doing the same.

Just shows how dumb some people are. If this "gang banger" could get a HCP he could have walked into any store and purchased a firearm just like the rest of us. He was the clean one for his group, he could have purchased dozens of firearms legitimately. He screwed up, he was stupid. Good thing for us, crooks are so dumb. Just for information I sent in my renewal paperwork on Feb 6th and it came in the mail April 26th. So a little less than 3 months.

My renewal has been gone 60 days now and was told today it could be up to 60 more. I know TN says the receipt is good enough to continue to carry. My question is how to explain this to an out of state officer who has an expired license in their hand? I just do not understand, as an employer I can have a backgroung back in 1 day and it takes the state 3-4 months:screwy:

According to channel 7 in Jackson Tn news cast last night we must have gun registration in TN. They reported that the Commercial Appeal data base has the name of every gun owner in the state. Not one time did they mention the words handgun carry permit. Thanks to them everyone that does not take the paper now knows where to look at our information, thanks WBBJ television. You would think they would get the facts a little bit closer to the truth. I guess that would not stir the masses up enough, so lets add a little bit of the Enquirer type journalism.

I sent this to the Commercial Appeal I have a very dear friend who is being stalked. Now not only does he have her address (which he already had), he has her date of birth, and he knows she is armed. She was scared before but she was dealing with it because she knew she had the element of surprise. I want to thank the Commercial Appeal for caring enough to share this information with her stalker. Her blood is on your hands now. I pray nothing happens to her because of this. You get a good nights sleep and dream about what you have done.

I have called John Tanners office to see if we can get some heat from above. I have called everyone I know that has a permit to piss them off and to get them to call everyone they know to get them pissed. My Representatives have been contacted, waiting for call backs. The argument I am using is that I want to keep guns out of criminals hands. I tell them that this is a golden opportunity for criminals to obtain firearms through theft. I am going to wait until midnight to call the people from the Commercial Appeal just for effect. I went to renew mine yesterday and was told I had to bring my birth certificate to renew. They did not even check to see if it was on file. which it is .They just refused to look. I also was the only person in the place and they made me take a number and wait to be called up to be assisted by one of the 4 people working the desk. Then I was given a form to fill out to renew my DL even though I told them HCP. Filled it out and then they told me "I" filled out the wrong form. I love my government they make my life so much less stressful. Off my soap box now. Good for another 4 years now.
