  2. This member pm’ed me one day, just out of the blue, and asked for my phone number. I’ve no idea why, but he did, and he began to calm every week or two. I’m not a social person by any stretch, but I don’t mind having an adult conversation now and again. It was sad last year when I learned he passed. I wouldn’t mind hearing from him again. There are a couple more members who no longer post here I’d like to hear from again as well. I’m not sure what happened to them. Perhaps I’m not as anti social as I thought. I don’t really know why I posted this, but I can tell you there’s some pretty good folks lurking on these pages if you get to know them.

  3. And when they or anyone else does, I’ll laugh at them for calling it an “insurrection”. Was it wrong? Yeah. But it’s silly to claim that it was substantively worse than sustained nightly attacks on cities during the previous summer. There was a months long nightly siege of federal buildings like the federal courthouse in Portland where they repeatedly attempted to burn it down with people inside of it. They set fire to St. John’s Episcopal AKA “America’s Church” across the street from the white house. So no, I’ve never gotten too worked up about what was mostly an unguided tour where the only person who died was shot by Capitol Police.

  7. Bought this new in 1982. It's in really nice shape considering its 43 years old! Used it for metallic silhouette matches and challenging squirrel hunts. It has an 8 3/8" barrel, factory target grips, target hammer and target trigger. As all older Smiths, a really clean, light trigger pull. It has a recessed cylinder and partridge front sight. There is slight holster wear near the muzzle which I tried to show. $1000 for me to part with this safe queen, sorry, not interested in trades, shrinking my collection.

  9. So for the last few months I’ve been working towards a production manager job at work, and in Late January it became all but imminent that as long as I didn’t screw the pooch it would be mine when it opened up. So to celebrate the fact I went ahead and put in a call to American Classic Gunleather for a BBQ rig to go with the classy N frame I had for it. The gun is a 25-5 4” smith in .45 Colt wearing Culina Claro Walnut grips, and the leather is American Classic Gunleather legend Holster, with a full floral carved belt and 6 round slide to match. I couldn’t be more ecstatic at how they turned out and they showed up on the same day as my final interview for the position. So Cheers to all of you on this fine Saturday!

  10. Why not post in the TGO Classifieds? You can list any stipulations you want. You can require a buyer to have been a TGO member for a minimum amount of time, must be a Benefactor, have X number of positive iTrader reviews from long time members, meet at your local police station for the deal, require an HCP and a bill of sale, must communicate via phone call instead of texts/messages, etc. Whatever you want to require. It might limit your buyer pool a bit, but my experience is that folks with a positive history on TGO are on the up and up.

  12. Since DataRepublican found out about all the Federal money being sent to liberal organizations, and DOGE put a stop to a lot of those money transfers, there hasn't been as much money to hire protesters and bus them around the country.

  13. Folks like to talk smack about Memphis and it being a leftist hive in the state. There is some amount of truth to that, however, Memphis is not Portland, Seattle, or NYC. They don’t go for that “burn down our own home” crap. Didn’t do it in 2020, ain’t gonna do it now.

  14. In order to pave the way for our future upgrade to the Version 5 of our forum software, I am having to make some changes to the way that we handle tagging threads. Up until this point, a member could basically create their own tag by using the hashtag symbol within a thread. From this point forward, members will have to use a set of pre-defined tags that the staff and I set within the software. I am also removing all instances of miscellaneous tags and settling in on tags that make sense for specific things. For most of you this won't matter at all. Not many people used the feature in the first place. Except... We use tags for our Trading Post forums and that is why this change will be a good thing and not a bad one. We will soon begin using tags that indicate where you as the buyer or seller reside. This should make it a lot easier for folks who browse TGO from a mobile device.

  15. Hit another milestone today. 199.6 lbs when I weighed myself this morning. I believe this is the first time I have been under 200 lbs since high school. I am close to being literally half the man I was when I started losing weight 13 months ago.

  33. AuEagle and I texted almost daily and talked about once a week. Can't tell you how many times I could be having "one of those days" and I'd get a text from AuEagle out of the blue saying "Praying for you buddy". Man I do miss him.

  34. A "services offered, services needed" with locality. In these troubled times of woe and want, it might be nice to support fellow members of the board with their projects or if one were to be a practitioner of said Trade or vocation, might be amenable to providing services for fellow members. Ad example "Wanted in Tullahoma area, well driller for water well". Inversely, "well driller available Tullahoma and 150mi in any direction, call for TGO prices!" I've found this a great way to get good deals, finish projects, avoid taking chances on Facebook flakes, and most importantly SUPPORT FELLOW GUNNIES! Just a thought. In my previous vocation as one of the nation's premier FAL, AK, HK, GALIL, AR builders and firearms refinishers i was able to trade all manner of needed services for my labors, from legal representation to dentistry, BARTER remains untaxable and a great way to exercise independence from the ever-intrusive State. 35. Yes. It was a protest turned riot. But if we compare and contrast with any of the riots that roared throughout the entire 2020 Summer of Love, it was a very minor one in terms of injuries, deaths, and property damage.

  37. Smith & Wesson .22/32 Kit Gun needs a new home. This one has 4" pinned barrel, square butt, adjustable sights. Excellent condition, with only some slight holster wear at the muzzle. This gun has the S&W J-frame target grips that are not serialized, so therefore not original to the gun (they were on it when I bought it). Serial number dates the gun to late in the 1973-77 time period. $700 to a Tennessee resident legally able to purchase handguns. I'm in Chattanooga but will drive a reasonable distance for a deal. Thanks for looking, Whisper

  39. I've done very well in the market so far this year. If you want to invest in the stock market, here are some free tips, so they are worth exactly what you've paid for them. 1. Educate, Educate, Educate yourself. Even if you're going to use an advisor. Good education isn't cheap but it will more than pay for itself. 2. Educate yourself some more. Study charts daily. It is the long game, not a get rich quick scheme. 3. Turn off the news. NEVER trade the news. News controls retail traders, not investors. Learn who actually controls the markets. You will be very surprised. 4. Stay off social media for advice, it's worse than the news. Don't listen to neighbor Bill either. If you do get a tip, do your own research. Remember that educate yourself thing? 5. Educate yourself some more. Know how to get your own information from real, reliable sources about companies, and know what that information means. 6. Do not attempt to day trade. Bots can trade 1000s of times a second. You can't. 7. Practice simulated trading until you can be positive on your trades 75 to 80% of the time. There are many free simulators out there. If you can be positive on 75 to 80% you will be crushing it and ready to hit the real market. 8. Did I mention educating yourself. It should never stop. 9. Have a plan and stick to it regardless of whats happening around you. ALWAYS have an exit strategy and get out per your plan. 10. DON'T GET GREEDY. The old saying is never truer than in the market. Pigs get fat, hogs get slaughtered. If done properly, the stock market is not really that big of a risk. If not done properly it will eat you alive.

  40. And if things still freak you out, God offers a supernatural solution: "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." (Philippians 4:6-7)
