  2. Tercel, no surprises at all in what you’ve said. Saw it a whole lot during the big flood we had around Cumberland City in 2010. Barricades, high water, and patrol cars blocking the road didn’t mean a thing. Saw it again last Wednesday night/Thursday morning here. After having to cut my way all the way through Houston county to get here, we had a big tree down near TVA blocking the whole road. I don’t know how many people pulled up to me, with me sitting in the middle of the road with blue lights on, “hey is the road open to go through, can I get through here?” ”Yeah man, that’s why I’m sitting here blocking the road, just so you can get through” On a brighter note though, while I was trying to cut my way through Houston county, this kid pulls up in a big jacked up Chevy 4x4 with vanity lights all over it. I was already about half irritated over the situation anyway, so I started thinking negative right off the bat, wondering what in the world does this guy want. NOPE. I was WRONG. This kid jumps out with a big Husqvarna chainsaw in hand ready to go to work. He followed me all the way to Cumberland City helping me cut. I realized once again that there are in fact some good people left in the world.

  4. This is my first 1911 I bought about 17 years ago, had many rounds through it over the years and the finish was looking pretty bad. Decided to tighten up the frame to slide fit and experiment with laser engraving before refinishing it with parkerizing, figured it was already in bad shape so I couldn't mess it up too much more.

  7. New to TGO! I am looking for a new home for my super clean 1980 (102-80xxx) Ruger Model 44 Carbine SA with 4 + 1 capacity, 18.5 inch barrel, and Bushnell 3x9 scope with protective caps. Bore is clean and the rifling is strong. Ejection port, action, bluing, walnut stock forearm are all in excellent condition. Check the pictures to see the small amount of wear on the loading trapdoor. The original folding leaf rear sight and sling mounts are all intact. This is a great hunter and shooter. Looking for someone who appreciates the older, well made Rugers and understands their value. $1,100 Prefer to meet in Jackson, TN, but will travel up to 1 hour within TN. Cash only if meeting. Can discuss shipping and payment in PMs. A sale to anyone outside of TN will be shipped to an FFL of your choice. I will require a copy of the FFL. Buyer will pay actual shipping and insurance coverage costs. No handling fees.

  8. And now for something completely different…… Winchester 94 Legendary Frontiersman 38-55 for sale. I understand a limited number of these were manufactured in the late 70’s. I used it in cowboy action side matches. It is accurate and an extremely fun “old caliber” lever action rifle to shoot. · In very good condition some light scratches on the right side of receiver I tried to capture in photos. · Has a Marble Arms peep sight mounted on rear and what looks like the original on front. · There is a dovetail for the original buckhorn which I do not have. · Will include the original box, however, it’s in very, very bad shape. If you’re considering a purchase, leave this out of your equation. · Comes with 35 rounds of HSM 38-55 240gr Round Nose Flat Point Cowboy Action ammo. · Approximately 300 Chey Cast Hi-Tek Super Coat Bullets. 245 grains. · Approx 450 pieces of Winchester and Starline 38-55 brass. · Set of Hornady 38-55 Dies. Asking $1200.00 for the package. I am just west of Knoxville however I will travel a reasonable distance for an established TGO member. Thanks for looking.

  9. We have had drivers in my area move barriers and drive through high water and then having their cars ingest water into their engines. Then their engines seize. The driver then learns the rules of hydrodynamics and how water and most fluids don't compress ending up in broken and bent connecting rods. Then we have had drivers drive up to barriers and then they drive through people's yards to go around the barriers and high water. This ends up destroying people's yards. The selfishness and stupidity has never reached a high like it has during this flood. I have seen a lot during my years and this tops how rude , inconsiderate , selfish , and dangerous people have become. Sadly this is a whole new generation and it is sad. I just had to vent. Their is nothing important or urgent enough to drive through high water risking your life and then getting screwed up causing Emregency personnel to risk their lives to rescue you when you should have just not gone through the water to begin with !

  14. Belgium Browning A5 Light 12 1970 24 inch Vented Rib 2 3/4 Modified Barrel SN 70G 44924 Rear sight bead gone, easy fix. This is a 50 year safe queen. I am the second owner, I purchased in 1975. I never hunted or fired it. The original owner (Michigan) did shoot it minimally so there are a few minor aesthetics. I would rate it at 95 percent quality. No box, no papers. $750 Pickup in the Loudon County (Lenoir City, Loudon) area. Daylight hours. Public Location.

  17. Up for your consideration is a Remington 870 Police 12ga shotgun. This is the 20” version and in excellent condition. "B" prefix of the serial number dates this one between 1994-1996 and the stamping on the barrel looks like "EP" which should mean October 1995 production. Asking $595 - Sorry no trades at this time. I’m available to meet around the Gallatin area. TNDL or HCP flash. Thanks!

  18. 1 Cor 15:12 Now if Christ is preached, that He has been raised from the dead, how do some among you say that there is no resurrection of the dead? 13 But if there is no resurrection of the dead, not even Christ has been raised; 14 and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is vain, your faith also is vain. 15 Moreover we are even found to be false witnesses of God, because we testified against God that He raised Christ, whom He did not raise, if in fact the dead are not raised. 16 For if the dead are not raised, not even Christ has been raised; 17 and if Christ has not been raised, your faith is worthless; you are still in your sins. 18 Then those also who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished. 19 If we have hoped in Christ in this life only, we are of all men most to be pitied. The Order of Resurrection 20 ¶ But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep.

  20. Bringing a new pup home in a few weeks after he gets some additional training. We met up with the breeder this past weekend to finally meet him. My daughter wouldn’t put him down. Meet “Scout”, a beautiful sable GSD. I've wanted a GSD for a while now since putting our lab down last year. My wife has been very anti the idea, shedding, she thinks they are “scary”, etc. Come to find out she was talking to the breeder without me knowing planning a surprise puppy for my birthday.

  29. I think with ARs, you hit the point of diminishing returns pretty quick, say around $1500. A good quality barrel is the key and as long as the other parts are decent, I don't see much point in spending a premium on them. There are only a few major manufacturers of most of the parts, so I'm a bit jaundiced when it comes to the boutique AR market, especially when they're like "yeah other people make our parts but we QA them and put our name on them " and then not bother to actually do the QA / testing.

  35. My pet peeve is people tossing trash out of their vehicles onto the side of the road. I pick up about one shopping bag of beer cans and fast-food trash every other week or so along the road that bounders one edge of my property. I'd love to know where one of those litterers live so I could go and dump a load in their yard.
