  1. Since it wasn't foul play, I can't think of anything else that can wipe out 3 living things aside from carbon monoxide. Good reminder to keep detectors in your house and replace them every 4-5 years.

  2. Wanting to sell my like-new Smith and Wesson 460XVR 7.5" Performance Center (model 11626). I purchased it new in early February, and have fired about 100 rounds through it. I decided I want a model with a longer barrel. There are some minor scratches on the cylinder, but it is in like-new condition otherwise. Includes the original box, carrying case, and all other accessories. Looking for about $1,150 (reduced from 1,600) but am open to reasonable offers. I live near Sherwood TN, and am willing to drive about 2 hours (this includes Nashville and Chattanooga). Must be a Tennessee resident to purchase.

  3. For sale is my P-01. Have had it for 2 years now and it’s in very good condition. Only seen a handful of range trips. Less than 300 rounds on it. Love the gun, but just don’t shoot it as well as my other guns, so it sits in the safe these days. Looking to move on. Comes with 7 mags (2 OEM CZ Mags, 5 Mec-Gar CZ75 15rd mags). Slide was cut by the man Wage92 (Wager Machine Works out of Crossville, TN. If you know optic cuts/slide milling, you know who this is. One of the GOATs). Was cut for the RMSc pattern so K footprint optics will work on this. Comes with Vytal metal grips and mag baseplates, as well as the OEM rubber grips. TLR-7A as well. I will also throw in the EPS Carry MRS red dot optic, for an additional cost. Will sell everything for $850. If you don’t want the optic, grips, or all mags I’ll let it go for $500. Must be of legal age to own, willing to fill out a bill of sale and meet in a public area. Will accept cash, Zelle, Venmo, or PayPal F&F. NO CHECKS.

  4. Hope they find out what happened. It's a shame to feel even at 95 he might have been cheated out of some more time. What a life. Give his Wikipedia page a glance. Lied about his age to enlist in the Marines at 16, made a mark in some prolific films, would up on Nixon's Enemies List. Impressive at any level. I'm also happy he got to leave Hollywood and enjoy some time of quiet reflection and peace. Santa Fe is a beautiful area. Peaceful rest wishes for a helluva guy.

  6. This. The result of “holding them accountable” will be either metal detectors or more likely, security guards with hand wands. Either way, not a favorable result.

  25. The last time I went to the Chattanooga Zoo and the Knoxville Zoo, both were posted, and both exist within a larger public park. I have not been to either in awhile, and I can't remember if I went before or after the parks law changed. I probably posted in the prohibited locations forum thread, but that has disappeared. So in summary, I think it is common for entities like zoos that lease public property and post rules that may not comply with the law, and there does not seem to be any movement to sue them into compliance. Tennessee has been living with the "signs carry weight" law that is rarely enforced for so long, coupled with what appears to be much less open carry, that there are doldrums when it comes to change. Also, as pointed out by maroonandwhite above, they might just go through the trouble of adding metal detectors if forced. A local Chattanooga example is Riverbend, a music festival that takes place in a large public park. For years, the park was a prohibited location under the old law, then parks were essentially removed from the list (with those pesky school children caveats). My memory may be fuzzy, but I believe Riverbend only had to operate for one year under the changed law before the law was changed again, giving them the ability to ban weapons with metal detectors. The next year, and every year since, they have had metal detectors. (As a side note, their screening is easily defeated, according to multiple attendees who have carried "stuff" in through the screening). Also doesn't help that a good gun rights bill can be introduced and then inevitably is swallowed by a committee, never to be seen again (usually due to the direct actions of Republicans).

  26. Downsizing & streamlining things so this one's up for sale. Bought it new years back. Haven't shot it much at all. Tiny bit of holster wear on both the grip & manual safeties. Otherwise in pristine shape. These are some of my favorite 1911's & as far as I know they are no longer producing this 5" railed model in black. I have 4-5 Chip McCormick magazines & 1 Wilson Combat 10-rounder. $1350

  28. Honestly, I’d rather just continue on as is at this point. My guess is that they likely won’t react favorably and take signs down. They’d probably be more likely to add metal detectors if that’s what is required to comply. It’s a great zoo and my boy loves to go. Memberships are cheap and concealed is concealed. Totally get where you are coming from but I’ve lost faith in many of those in positions of decision making and power.

  29. I did go before the new laws were enacted, and would like to go again. When I went, they did not use metal detectors. The reason for my inquiry was to see if they are now in compliance with the laws passed since my last visit, to see if they are in compliance, as I would like to go again. I have learned here that they are not. They should be made to come into compliance. Do you agree?

  30. There is no children gathering clause. It is a school event clause such as a field trip. And you're right, that should be eliminated. Does a small field trip on one side of a 100-acre park make the entire place off limits? That does not jive with the standard set forth in the U.S. Supreme Court Bruen decision.

  31. I recently started using a service called Tailscale to provide a VPN connection back into my house. You can enable a setting called an Exit Node, and then when you make the VPN connection, you can choose to use the exit node. The exit node passes the traffic back into your house and then back out to the internet from the PC inside your home. To the world, it looks like you are browsing from your home PC. All of this enables encryption from your phone back to your home network, so if you connect to a sketchy WiFi, they can't snoop on your traffic. Walmart would have no idea what site you are browsing. It sounds complicated, but it really wasn't. I enabled it all in like 15 minutes, and it was so easy I was like "That's it??" The service is free for X number of devices. I forget how many, but it was more devices than I own, and I'm nerdy.

  33. These are the changes I’ve made to 2011s I’ve had. They were improvements for me; some may find them dumb, which is also fine. 1. Mag release spring - either a lighter spring or trim the existing one. These springs are often too stiff and I don’t drop the mag. This may possibly be due to my left-handedness - I use my trigger finger to hit the mag release and I may not have as much leverage as you right-handed thumbdumpers. 2. Short trigger - I don’t have small hands, but I tend to use the tip of my finger and a short trigger helps mitigate this bad habit that I’ve never shaken. 3. Steel mainspring housing - I’ve added a steel MSH to add an ounce or so of weight in the heel (when the grip/MSH is polymer). Maybe splitting hairs, but I like the feel of it better. 4. Reduced power recoil spring - some factory guns are badly oversprung. As a competitive shooter, I often hear the misconception about “powder puff” ammo that non-competitive shooters assume we use. A lighter spring changes the recoil impulse, but has little to do with light ammo (at least for me). My gamer ammo is slightly spicier than what I usually carry. 5. Aftermarket fire control parts - only worthwhile if A. your gun has MIM junk (sometimes MIM stuff is ok), B. you want to improve/lighten the trigger, and C. you will shoot it a lot (10,000+ rounds). Some MIM parts will hold up, but some high volume shooters go ahead and ditch them when doing a trigger job. Having said all that, and the Mac 9 being your first 2011, I would just shoot the hell out of it and not do anything to it for a while, if ever.

  35. Here for sale is a 1960s Manurhin P-1 chambered in 9mm (French made Walther P-1). The firearm is in good condition with a very smooth action and comes with a vintage German holster and two original magazines. The recoil springs have been replaced with brand new Wolff factory replacements. I am most interested in a trade for a Walther PP or other small, vintage, .32 caliber pocket pistols (I can add cash to the deal if needed). I’m located in East Nashville and you can contact me by text as well at (615)925-9979. Please feel free to reach out with any questions and thanks for looking.

  36. I read a post by him on either Rumble or X where he said he had no interest whatsoever in working for the govt again. He went on to say that if Trump wanted him and asked him, he would serve again, at no salary, but he said I'm definitely NOT interested otherwise.
