This is a Civilian colt 1911 manufactured in 1917. The gun is in very nice condition for its age, retaining most of the blue finish. The firearm has two spots on the same side with no finish, resulting in some dull spots that had a little oxidation . the roughness from the oxidation is not very pronounced, it only effected it enough to take away the polished shine in those areas. It still very much falls within the margin of able to be restored. I’m asking 1700 or you give me an offer. I’m open to all cash offers within reason, unfortunately no trades. I will need a signed bill of sale after the transaction and need to glance at ID. Contact me, Kevin, at 61540340026 points

Mine is my S&W 642. I bought it on a whim when they were on sale at Rural King about 10 years ago for less than $300. Now that I've changed careers and wear dress pants and suits more often I find myself carrying it more and more. I still prefer my Glock 48 for daily carry but this has turned into a gun I love to both shoot and carry.3 points

Like The mailman, I think they have too many cold range cycles. It seems like I'm just starting to get in a rhythm when they announce "COLD!". But it's usually a pretty good place to shoot 100. I don't know if they allow just anyone to shoot on the 200 yard lanes. It used to be that you had to join with an annual membership but I don't know if that's still the case. IMO, the handgun side is downright dangerous. Too many goobers who have no business being there sweeping the line or worse. The RSOs on that side used to be crazy strict (I assume they still are) but for good reason. Just look up and count the bullet holes in the roof. I don't plan to ever go back to that side. It's the busiest range in the state by a large margin so the RSOs have to be on top of everything.2 points

It's time to let this one go to a new loving home. I originally had this rifle built for me because I wanted to try long-range shooting, but I got distracted by service rifle matches with open sights and never did shoot this one that much. So I'm hoping there's someone else looking for it. This is a Remington 700 with 24" Krieger heavy barrel, McMillan forest camo stock. It's built in the USMC M40A1 pattern, with work done by Mike Lau at Texas Brigade Armory. You can visit his website and read full specs on this rifle at Rifles. No scope included; I shot it with a Leupold 12x varmint scope, which I'm keeping. T Also included with the rifle is a Starlight heavy-duty gun case. These were once billed as the toughest gun cases made, but the company went out of business in about 2012. New guns now come with Doskocil, Gun Guard, or Pelican cases. This case is as tough as the day it was made. Check eBay and you'll see astounding prices for these things. This is certainly a gun that will have a small pool of interested buyers, but I decided that TGO would be the best place to offer it for sale first because I know there are some leftys here. If I can't find a buyer in a reasonable time, I'll either consign it with one of the local gun shops or else perhaps try selling it on Gunbroker, although since the gun and case weight 33.6 pounds, shipping costs would be horrendous. Better to sell it to a nice TN citizen. I want $2400 for the gun and case. I'll consider trades or partial trades. Since this is my only gun in this caliber, and I have a great stockpile of ammo, I'd be interested in another .308 or 7.62 rifle, but in a sporter weight. A Ruger SFAR would be great. An M-1 Garand is also something I'd like; it should be a shooter and not a collector. I'm also interested in Colt or Colt-pattern (USFA, Cimarron, Taylor, Uberti, etc.) single action revolvers in .38 or .357 with short barrels. I always like .44 Special revolvers (no five-shot models, please). Other trade offers cheerfully considered, but I don't need any more AR-style rifles except the Ruger SFAR, and no more plastic pistols except the HK VP9 or the CC9. I live in Chattanooga but will drive a reasonable distance for a deal. Feel free to ask questions or to request more photos. Thanks for looking, Whisper1 point

I didn't know they ever had a skeet range. They have a neat little archery area beside the parking lot. Back in the day it had a multi-level tower to simulate different heights in a tree stand. Not sure if that's still there or not.1 point

Been an instructor, especially with new shooters around 12 yrs. Many hours taking (borrowing) from others in regard to SD. Karl Rehn favors their use if the student practices. IMO, for SD in low/ambient light they may be a tad quicker. Truly a point shooting situation. Understanding the laser will never be without movement. Also like you, after shooting 'dots' my iron shooting got better. This also spilled over into my clays shooting.....I know, crazy! But maybe target focus, or any focus just improved.1 point

They have one or two lanes for 200 yds and you have to shoot thru about an 8’ pipe to get to the 200 yd target. There will be times when they do get busy and have a waiting list. Sunday afternoons are probably the busiest times. They can get busy on Saturday also but I would recommend Friday if you can. Of course the nastier the weather the less busy it will be. Probably gets the busiest just before a season opens like deer, turkey etc. or before muzzle loader season opens You can use your own targets but they have decent prices on the ones they sall. Not sure about the size nut you can probably use up to a 12 x 18 anyway. Targets will be mounted with push pins. It’s probably the cheapest show in town. I think they have too many cold range times. I prefer ranges without safety officers but they really do need them on a public range like that.1 point

>>> Price Drop to $2400 <<< I have a huge Reloading Package that I've decided to part with. This would be a fantastic set-up for someone just starting out that is interested in reloading .223/.556 & 9mm. Everything you need to load thousands of rounds is included in this package. I don't shoot as much as I used to and I just never have been able to find the time to put into it. Everything I have was purchased new by me and has been kept in a temperature and humidity controlled environment. Everything is either new or like new. I reloaded less than 500 rds of .223 and Zero rds of 9mm. I have looked online at a few of my regular places that I always order from and found the cheapest prices I could and have made an itemized list. This list reflects what it would cost to buy these items today, minus taxes and shipping. I totaled it all up and then decided to ask 60% of that total. The Grand Total is $5554, which would actually cost you well over $6000 with tax & shipping. 60% of $5554 is $3332.40. So I'm going to do even better than that and ask $3200.00 for the entire package. I don't want to mess around with breaking stuff up. I'm only interested in selling it all as a complete package. I'm located in Bybee which is about halfway between Morristown & Newport in Cocke Co.1 point

Simpler solution, stop making people leave firearms when they should be carrying them.1 point

Maybe he should worry more about real criminals instead of regular people- These putzes's are continually finding things to blame us with while completely ignoring the real criminals out there- These idiots really get under my skin-they must just sit home and think of stupid things to make illegal- If my car is locked it is now a secure container-unless it's broken into which now makes it a crime-against the person doing the breaking-not the vehicle owner-1 point

Buying directly from Aero Precision nowadays is apparently a catastrophe. I ordered a receiver set on January 3 and never even received a confirmation email. Thank goodness I always screenshot my order number after hitting "submit." Aero billed my card on January 5. No worries, I figured, they got blown out over the holidays. Fast forward to day 44 and they still won't answer the phone, reply to messages (I can't find an email address), and their chat just kicks you off after 30 minutes. Five minutes of internet research reveals that there are a lot of other folks with the same story. Their customer service is awful. Meanwhile, they keep emailing me about receiver sets and other parts ready to ship. Yeah right. I like Aero receivers and hand guards and I might buy them from a retailer if I can temporarily get the taste out of my mouth, but I will never buy directly from Aero again, no matter how good their prices are.0 points

Hands down it's the best place for clays. Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays. $13/round for Skeet or Trap and $0.55/bird on the sporting clays courses. My 12 ga. works like a cost limiter . . . After about $30-40 worth of clays, my shoulder says it's quitin' time0 points

It's been years since I shot there but used to you had to "qualify" at 100 to shoot on the 200. I can't remember the requirements but it wasn't anything crazy. Basically just a requirement to keep the same people off the 200 yard range that were destroying the roof on the pistol range. Another question on that range, do they still not let anyone use the skeet range? To my knowledge it's never been used, it at least publicly available. I have a group of guys that would wear it out.0 points
