  2. If you are part of a safety/security program for your church, synagogue, or faith-based school or organization within driving distance of Nashville, or have personal contacts filling those roles, message me privately please. I am helping organize a private event in March that will be of interest. Material will be presented by two former CIA members on the current and emerging threat of terror attacks by ISIS and Al Qaeda against faith based organizations in the United States. Pastoral leaders, principals of faith-based schools, and leaders of faith-based organizations are welcomed and encouraged to attend with their safety/security leads. This is a private event. Security will be very tight. Advance RSVP will be required for admission. This the most public thing you will see mentioned about it until after the event has occurred. Again, message me if you are a team leader for a safety/security program at your church or synagogue or can put me in touch with them. Also if you are a security leader or officer for a faith-based school or college. Thanks! **Driving distance means whatever you want it to mean. I'm expecting a few people from other states.

  4. Quick and easy meals is my main motivator Mac. My preference, taste and texture-wise is to soak them overnight and then pressure can them. Go easy on the seasonings as the pressure canning process can really enhance the flavor... that's always a desired outcome. But the texture of the bean is darn near creamy, intact, but really delicious. Markedly better than store bought canned beans. I also pressure canned boneless pork loin in pints and half pints recently. (It's only me in the household these days as my Bride awaits me in Heaven ), so canning helps in portioning for one person as well. Just pour a jar of beans along with a far of meat into a pot and heat for about 15-20 minutes. GOOD eating IMHO. (We need to heat what we can at least to a boiling temp, JIC).

  5. One of the craziest fishing trips I've ever been on was when Poplar Tree Lake in Shelby Forest was being drained for repair. Fish were competing with each other for the dwindling supply of food and would knock the crap out of anything that touched the water. We caught a bass with every cast but we almost bled out from the mosquito bites.

  6. Hello, this is a wonderful AR upper that has served me well and is an excellent rifle. I have sent roughly 600-700 rounds through this upper over the last 3 years. I have no issues with the upper in any function or appearance. This upper includes the following components and what I paid for each. Aero Previous upper (Ballistic Advantage heavy profile barrel)- $450 Aero Nitride BCG (unmarked)- $140 Radian Raptor LT charging handle- -$80 As you can see, for you to build this upper/ the amount I have in it is $680. However, I recognize this upper is used . Therefore I am asking $575. Optic is no longer available. Not interested in trades. Reasonable offers considered.

  7. Buying directly from Aero Precision nowadays is apparently a catastrophe. I ordered a receiver set on January 3 and never even received a confirmation email. Thank goodness I always screenshot my order number after hitting "submit." Aero billed my card on January 5. No worries, I figured, they got blown out over the holidays. Fast forward to day 44 and they still won't answer the phone, reply to messages (I can't find an email address), and their chat just kicks you off after 30 minutes. Five minutes of internet research reveals that there are a lot of other folks with the same story. Their customer service is awful. Meanwhile, they keep emailing me about receiver sets and other parts ready to ship. Yeah right. I like Aero receivers and hand guards and I might buy them from a retailer if I can temporarily get the taste out of my mouth, but I will never buy directly from Aero again, no matter how good their prices are.

  10. Is anyone interested in this lens? I'm selling it for $500. I haven't posted photos yet but if someone is interested I can bump that up in priority. It's a great lens and in almost like new shape. The hood shows some wear and the tiniest of a tiny spot on the front element has a small coating irregularity. It takes great photos but it limits my Canon R5 to 6fps so naturally I want to upgrade to the 85mm f/1.4L (I just love the older, "bargain" EF lenses, ironically I don't own a single RF lens). Specs/details/pricing at Amazon.

  11. I bought this all for a trip to Alaska. I had high hopes of filming my entire adventure but I was so lost in the beauty that it barely made it out of my bag. I filmed a total of 15 minutes in the 10 days I was there and that’s the only time this has ever been used. I’d like to maybe get around $475 for everything but also willing to trade or trade plus cash on either side for the right deal. Located in Memphis. list of everything included below (everything that says GoPro is an official GoPro product) all prices can be checked through Amazon I came up with these numbers today 12/14/24 GoPro hero black 11 creator edition $529 Gopro chest mount $25 Gopro protective housing $50 Gopro dual enduro battery charger and 2 enduro batteries (makes a total of 3 batteries plus the grip Which doubles as a battery backup) $59.99 Teamgroup 256gb micro sd card x2 $30 K and F concept polarizer lens $30 Ulanzi magnetic backpack strap clamp style mount $20 Telesin magnetic neck mount $27.99 Lekufee waterproof hard case $39.99 also included is the original GoPro hard/soft case, a bunch of random attachment pieces, a usb sd card reader and an iPhone sd card adapter so you can upload the media straight to your phone. obviously I’m prepared to lose money on this but it really is brand new and totals around $900 before tax if bought new today. I paid more than that in June when i bought it. Trades im really interested in sig 365 Shadow mr920 or cr920

  13. I have Crimson Trace lasers for my G-19, 1911 and P-238. Yet I only have one in use right now on my Glock that is on my bedside table. The other two are in the safe. I took them off my carry guns because if I ever have to draw on someone, I want it to be as simple as possible. I am kind of old school. No red dot sights, no lasers on my carry guns and no high dollar race guns. I prefer carrying a J-frame revolver with a P-238 or P-365 as a back up. I recently purchased a Charter Arms Bulldog 44sp. I love it! a big fat slow moving bullet.

  15. Bought this set a while back and decided to go a different direction. I never mounted them and don't know that they have ever been mounted. Fits a 12 ga, and includes stock bolt. No dents, dings, etc. I live in Lebanon and I'm in Franklin often. Also Monday and Tuesday next week I can meet in the vicinity of any of the highlighted roads on the map below.

  16. Yes, that’s why I do it. Soaking and cooking a couple of cups of beans at a time is slow. Canning 10 lbs takes half a day but it it means I can have them ready for 2 years and have them ready to eat them fast. If there is a disaster water might be in short supply so having some canned reduces water use and makes them ready to eat with only heating. of course the best use of canning is to preserve food you grew yourself but this is just what I do. Quick easy meals without the need for refrigeration, but not the expensive canned food from stores. I have canned stew, venison, homemade spam…. They were ok too…beans are just easy and they can be used in a variety of recipes

  17. I don’t know that I’ve ever really considered canning dried beans. Is the thought process that you can just heat them up and eat them as opposed to having to cook and simmer for several hours?

  18. Rifle is wearing a Tasco 2-8x32 scope. It is sighted in at 50 yards and shoots great. In decent condition for it's age. Really like this rifle but fell in love with another. Story of my life. $400. Some ammo will go with it to kerp you busy.

  20. The expression long predates WW2. At least dates back another century (1800s). May refer to material needed for a Scottish Great Kilt (PhilaMor), or the normal full complement of sails on a three-masted ship. FYI, various types of US fighter planes had different lengths of ammunition for the .50 caliber machine guns. P-51 depending on model had either 270or 400 rounds per gun, P47 267, 350, or 425 rounds per gun, just as examples.

  22. Carry one everyday , my favorite CCW . I use shield mags . Leather holster on leather belt . I probally am about as rough on a CCW as it gets . My gun has been dropped several times , still no issues . Not a fan of the MOS reflex sight , I took it off . In my environment it gets dirty very quick . So I just use open sights

  23. That's high dollar meat these days Greg. But man, that makes my mouth water thinking about it. I canned some brisket stew meat and a pork loin last month into pints and 1/2 pints...cut into small cubes. I try to catch meats on sale, put in the freezer until enough is accumulated, and then do a couple of canner runs. Makes for quick and easy meals.

  24. I bought a 41qt pressure canner so that I could make sterile medium for growing mushrooms…gave that up because my old house promotes mold and therefore the mushroom production was not good or worth the effort. Now I use it to can deer meat, stew, and mostly beans. I don’t garden enough so I just buy 25lbs of navy beans for $15 and can those. At least once a year I can them. The canner can hold 20 qts so that’s lasts me most of the year. I use just soaked beans, water, and better than bullion ham flavor. The flavoring is not required but I just feel better knowing it is marinating in some basic flavor while it’s waiting on me to eat it.

  25. $300 18k gold fine nib. Fantastic writing pen, I just don’t do much work in the office anymore, so I don’t do much writing. Snapped a pic of it on my desk loaded up with ink, but will clean it prior to sale. Or happy to load with Mont Blanc royal blue.

  27. great perspective. I tried a laser on a p238 ages ago and could never get used to it. I tend to prefer the optics for all situations, near and far. Finding the holosun dot / 32moa circle has done wonders for quick acquisition and hits up close as well as precision further out.

I'm gonna try to meet with him sometime next week. I'll let call know how this works out as we get further along in this little project. leroy...

  34. I keep hearing about this need for like-minded people to align but it always seems to begin and end as text on the internet. It takes genuine effort to build relationships which most people don't seem to be serious enough to care to put in. Kinda sad that it has become a form of a virtue signal but I digress.

  38. My wife and I had three each Pfizer vaccinations; 16-old son had two (we decided not to booster him when it was available), and 5-year old daughter had two also. So far, I am the only one who had confirmed Covid (in January). It was not as bad as influenza or a cold (usually I am miserable with just a cold). Throat was mildly sore for two days, but not as bad as with other illnesses, and I was just tired (but not due to a fever). However, the other three had cold-like symptoms in December with some having coughs worse than usual with a cold. The ones who were tested for Covid, tested negative, but we wonder if it was false negative in December since none of them got sick or tested positive after I stayed at home for 5 days. My daughter has been tested multiple times for influenza and Covid; nearly each time she was sick, which was more than anyone in our house. She was positive for influenza once. We are all also vaccinated for influenza yearly. Since some of us have asthma, and my daughter gets sicker than average with colds, I'd like to think the vaccinations lowered the severity of illness and possibly the degree of infectivity.

  39. The 4 of us in my house have had no shots. My daughter got 19 and felt bad for 8 or 10 days. She is 18. No one else got it in my house. We do not do vaccines. We are sanitation freaks though.

  41. My wife and I both had three shots, and we both caught Covid anyway. Both of us experienced what could be described as flu-like symptoms, pretty similar to what I experienced in reaction to the shots, but of much longer duration. I dunno, maybe it would have been far worse without the vaccine.....
