  2. Greetings everyone and thank you for this group. The title pretty much says it all. We escaped in July of 2024 and haven't looked back. We do miss our BFF's horribly, but we do not miss the laws, the politics, the taxes, the cost of gas, the cost of insurance, the cost of LIVING! Retired from a 30YR LEO career and post retirement I worked as a sales rep for First Tactical apparel, marshalled at a golf course (Roy Roger's old home course) and since 2017 I have been a firearms instructor teaching civilians and LEO's firearms. I am a: - NRA Firearms Instructor (Pistol,Rifle,Shotgun and CCW) - NRA Range Safety Officer -USCCA CCW and Home Defense Instructor - All around good guy and smart alec!!

  3. $1100 Purchased this from Modern Warriors 11/9/24. Since then I've decided I want all my guns to have red-dot/reflex sights, and I don't feel like having it milled. It's had 30 rounds through it, just this past weekend. I paid $1300 for the gun with 2 mags. I'll through in an extra mag too.

  7. Nothing official yet, but I don't think this is a school shooting per say. Teenage boy shoots teenage girl, bystander wounded. I'm thinking its likely a case of a murder/suicide. They just happened to be at a school. But I could be wrong and there's no telling how the media will spin it.

  8. Idiots really, aren’t they always. Williamson County jail and Sheriff’s Office is like 2 or 3 blocks away. Not sure how they got to Brentwood before being caught.

  9. Wife works at JFK middle a short distance down the road. They are on lockdown. Hobson pike closed at the Wilson CO line. Three shot, two dead. one other student injured not by gunfire. I was already stressed and tired when I got the wife's text. Media coverage is too much. get out of the way, let parents pick up their children in relative peace. We will not find anything out today. Very saddened and upset by this though not a surprised in the least. Also going to say that having that many LEO standing around after the threat is eliminated is unneeded in my opinion. Only hindering getting those kids out and CSI getting their job done. I worry for my wife's safety and this did not give me any warm fuzzy feelings. I have resisted the urge to reply to someone calling for state Republicans to enact gun control. I mean, 17 year old in possession of a handgun on school property, not like that's against any current laws is it?

  14. I am definitely interested in this as I am looking for a EDC for the wife who has hand strength issues. I am not too terribly far as I am in Cookeville. That being said, I am a new guy here so not sure how to reach out to you . I had some of my students bring one of these to my class in California where I was an instructor and it was the SOFTEST shooting gun I've ever felt.

  16. First, I can't view Fox news website. Apparently I have an ad blocker the object to. Second, After a web search and reading other articles, it isn't clear to me how authorities knew the suspect had a firearm after the tour, but not before. Honestly, like most reporting these days, I'd need a lot more information to form a valid opinion. This is an odd story, no doubt. You are correct that very few folks take pride in their job now; especially government employees.

  20. Stand by for date, original date won't work. So I want to put together a big event where we can all show off our bbq rigs, eat some good smoked meat, and bang some steel after the meal. I'll smoke ribs, chuck roast and a pig butt on the smoker. Feel free to bring sides and non alcoholic drinks to contribute. Open carry of fancy leather and engraved pistols is encouraged. Bring out your best. After a big meal of smoked meat and sides we can retire to the back field to bang some steel with pistol and rifle. Address will be posted at a later date or sent via PM. It's in Oliver Springs. Please no alcohol or drugs, they have no place around loaded firearms.

  25. The new common sense laws the antis are wanting to get passed will do nothing to stop this. Background checks and red flag laws, and on and on will do nothing to stop this from happening. I am not sure there is any law that could be passed that would stop attacks at schools. Edited to add; I just don't understand why a 17 Y O would want to kill himself!

  26. I normally stick to 9mm, 10mm, or 22. Unless it’s just something I can’t pass up. Thank you for your offer. I just don’t have a use for it.

  32. I thought the left assured us that the "gun show loophole" was how criminals got guns. I guess we need to implement stricter background checks on burglars to stop this. When criminals want guns, there's little they won't do to get their hands on one. At least these scumbags didn't get their hands on any weapons this time. I'm sure the mild slap on the wrist they get will be a true deterrent of future crime.

  35. So something I have learned working in a manufacturing environment that relates to most aspects of life. Perception is reality. What people perceive in a 1-2 second look/interaction will shape their thoughts and their response to those thoughts. 3 different scenarios to consider. Scenario 1. Clean cut professional looking adult wearing business casual styled clothing with a tucked in shirt is opening carrying a firearm in a nice leather holster. Scenario 2. Unkempt looking adult in old, baggy, dirty or otherwise sloppy jeans is opening carrying a firearm in a cheap nylon holster thats floppy or leaning out and unsercure, with their t shirt obviously tucked behind it to display the gun. Scenario 3. Male in hip hop styled clothing is carrying an unholstered firearm in his pocket with the grip openly out and on display. I have seen all 3 of these in public local and recently. There is a right and a wrong way to do things. I'm not saying I'm for or against open carry as a typical manner to do things. As a right I support it 100%. But if you open carry you are guaranteed to receive a better response 98% of the time if you are well dressed, wearing a well fitted holster and belt and acting in a polite and respectful manner.

  36. CZ's are fantastic! But before ya spend a ton of money i'd head out to a range and rent a few different guns before it gets expensive on you real quick! Do the You-tube video tour and get a basic list and then go out and try em before ya buy them!

  37. Love my Max 9 as well. Great little gun. I like it much better than the 43x
    1 point
  38. I am a Ruger fan also. I now have a Ruger Max 9 micro pistol. Love it for what it is. For me it is a pocket pistol with the flush mount magazine. If I were in the market for a RXM size pistol I would not hesitate to purchase one after they have been on the market for a year. I never want to purchase a new pistol until Ruger has a chance to see if all is well and that takes a good year for them to show their warts, if any happen. I have never had a bad Ruger handgun or rifle.

  39. Good choice with the M&P, I was going to suggest the CZ P-01 as well, if you're ok with a DA/SA trigger
    1 point
  40. CZ P-01 . It's DA/SA so you will have a heavier first trigger pull since you wanted a heavier trigger. The frame is aluminum which is light for carrying. Replacement parts and aftermarket parts and holsters are EVERYWHERE. If you decide that you dont want it then the resale value is extremely good.
