I picked up a new lever gun I wasn’t in the market for. However, when a good deal on a really nice gun comes your way, you can’t let it pass by. It’s a very clean and very nice 1982 Browning B92 in 44Rem Mag. I shot it today and it’s dead on. It has one the smoothest factory action of any of my rifles. Unfortunately, it is so nice, it will probably (for me) end up a safe queen. I all but can’t find a mark in it. It’s nicer than my new Marlin 1895 45-70 SBL. I will have to decide if it’s too nice for my collection. Enjoy4 points

It's strange what happens to people in an event. You never know how you'll react until something happens. I've seen people cry, vomit, scream, and some act completely normal. My Wife flips a switch and goes into trauma nurse mode. It over rides her crazy fear of the dark and everything else. We've discussed what she should do in an active shooter situation. I hope I never find out if she does what I suggested.2 points

SOLD. Have a nice smith & Wesson M&p 2.0 5” fde with an apex trigger installed. Two 16rd mags, 4 different sized back straps. 500$ with the box. I do not have the original trigger. Unsure of round count but I would call it less than 300 just from looking at it. Sorry for the sloppy presentation, but thanks for looking. I live in Dayton tn.1 point

Guns handed down by family members are some of our most cherished. I’m sure many of you will have examples to show here. I have my Dad’s first rifle, a Stevens single shot.22 and a Remington semi auto.22 given to me by my grandfather. Yesterday my father gave me his Smith and Wesson model 19-4 Combat magnum. I have memories of seeing it safely protected in his bedside table drawer but have never shot it. He said he thinks he only fired it once or twice. Still looks like new.1 point

This new season of Lioness was even better than the first one. Several times the shootouts put me in mind of Sicario. Huge shoes to fill, but almost as good.1 point

Landman was pretty darn good. I can always tell how much I like a show when I watch the last episode and realize I have to wait God knows how long on the next one and it makes me feel angry and sad.1 point

Reading a book "Defensive Living". Discussing our awareness, the authors gave an example of 4 different people who were all in the same terrorist attack while stopped in a intersection at a stop light. First was a lady who was driving her brand-new car and was sitting in traffic at the stop light. She observed a man walking toward her passenger door with an AK 47 in hand. He stopped and looked directly at her, then went around the car and walked up to her driver's window and turned and shot a man in the car beside her in the next lane. All she thought about was she hoped he did not scratch her new car. Next guy was a politician being driven to an engagement. They were turning in the turn lane, and his thought was someone was making a movie. Next was a paramedic in a car a couple cars lengths back. He seen the glass shatter and his thought was, oh must be a wreck, so he grabbed his emergency bag and began to exit his car. Last guy was in the turn lane behind the politician. He was a highly trained intelligence officer who had been stationed overseas in a dangerous terrorism assignment for months. Had his radio blasting, windows rolled up, and in a state of total unawareness. Sit there and watched the whole incident, then it finally dawned on him what was happening. He quickly turned to the left and got outta dodge. Trainer says it just goes to show how people can watch the same incident and come up with very different conclusions on what they were seeing based on their different experiences in life. All 4 people were totally not in line with defensive living awareness. I must say, at times, I am exactly as these 4 people as far as defensive awareness goes. Something to think about guys and gals!1 point

Ok, so they eliminated the lock. You still have a two piece barrel, MIM parts, a frame mounted firing pin plus the QC problems that have plagued S&W for the last 20 years or more. So what's the big deal? I do admit, I am digging the looks of the new Model 10. Damn fine looking gun there with some nice older features. Very nostalgic. But I already have several older Model 10s and M&Ps. I'll wait until they've been out for a while and get some real world reviews before spending any money.1 point

Great to see. But maybe a little too little, a little too late for me to buy another. Thank Colt. I think this is a direct response to sales losses as Colt’s recent revolvers are great and they truly stand behind them. Smiths problem is not just the lock. Their declining quality and non existent service for revolvers are the larger problems. As far as the lock, I did have a lock freeze up the action on my 686. It was either the first or second year of the lock, maybe contributed. happened right away out of the box. S&W fixed it and has been trouble free over 25 years. Old smith service. It’s a great gun Would love to hear them acknowledge and work on those bigger concerns. That is how they will win back those that have gone elsewhere seeking higher quality guns at their premium prices.1 point

Tommy Norris’ job in Landman reminds me of my job somewhat, minus the fistfights and bodies. His character cracks me up. On a side note, the plot of all of Taylor Sheridan’s shows lately seems to be how many F-bombs each character can squeeze into a paragraph.1 point

MSRP is on the S&W website. 849 for the 36, 979 for the 10 and 1099 for the 19. I'm glad to see new no locks but you can get dandy almost LNIB examples of all 3 of those guns for less than the MSRP. Hopefully street price is a bit lower and this is the beginning of the end for the lock1 point

MSRP is $969 for the Model 10. No telling what the actual price will be in your gun shop.1 point

Started watching Landman last night, and I'm really enjoying it. It's another Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone) series, staring Billy Bob Thorton. Speaking of Billy Bob, his series Goliath from a few years ago was pretty good.1 point

Then they should go into the legal states and stop the "legal" sales imo. They know 24 states allow it now and I don't hear of fed agency trying to stop it.1 point

Another pre-SHOT leak. This time it's Primary Arms new HTX-1 enclosed emitter optic. https://www.primaryarms.com/htx-1 This one looks REALLY interesting to me as it uses a modular chassis system that, unlike conventional optics mounting plates, adds nothing to the overall height of the optic over the slide. In fact, if you watch the video that Primary Arms did for the announcement you will see that the optic co-witnesses with standard height Glock sights on a Glock MOS pistol. The chassis system also has a chassis plate that is compatible with the RMR-2 type mount that uses posts for the screw mounts. Zev slides and the Zev OZ9 are two slides that immediately come to mind as using this style mount which has hitherto made it challenging to find optics that were completely compatible if they deviated from the RMR footprint in the slightest. More info here...1 point

These are the new metal Glock compatible mags that Staccato is running with the new Staccato HD pistol. What I failed to appreciate when looking at the leak of the new HD is that these mags are Glock 19 size and carry 18 rounds. Read that again carefully. They are Glock 19 size. And carry 18 rounds. https://themagshack.com/shop/pistol-magazines/9mm/mec-gar-9mm-18-round-magazine-for-glock-19/1 point
