  3. 22 LR, 6" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1948-made revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, barrel, cylinder, yoke, and extractor. The metal retains 97-98% of the original blue finish with some mild fading at the sides of the muzzle, along some of the high and exposed edges, and a light turn-ring at the rear of the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain a commensurate amount of their original color case-hardening, with some very mild fading on the edges, and correct original sights are fitted. The lock-up is tight, and the action is fully functional. This is a splendid five-screw K-frame .22, and is in fine-near excellent condition overall. SOLD Thanks for looking

  6. I bought this 02 here on the forum about a decade ago. It is a 4 cylinder, automatic, and has 167k on it now. I think I put an injector in it once, and squirrels have chewed the fuel lines up a couple of times. Short of that, I've changed the oil every 10k, put gas in it, and drove it. It doesn't have much power, gets only about 20mpg, and isn't overly comfortable, but it is boringly reliable, and I've yet to have it stuck. I pull a boat with it just fine. I plan to keep it til it dies, which it may well outlast me. Dad has a 98 model. The speedometer quit working, so I'm unsure of the miles, but it's over 400k. Same thing. Gas and drive. His is a v6 5 speed, and has twice the power mine does. My son had an 03 and drove it for years. Sold it to a buddy and it's still on the road. If he can't tear one up, that's saying something! I've no experience with newer models, but the older ones are amazing.

  8. All are the sale 1/8" D-2 steel blank ...Overall length: 6 3/16 inches overall, Sharpened Blade Length: 2 3/8 inches. Pins are brass and also contains a larger mosaic pin. All come with kydex sheath shown. $95 each shipped. D2 is part of a tool steel category called “high carbon, high chromium” steels. D2 has somewhat better wear resistance and toughness than 440C, the most commonly used stainless steel in the 70’s. D2 has since been used in many knives, famously by makers such as Bob Dozier. 1. 9. I would submit that there is a market for such a pickup, but manufacturers are going to cater to those who want huge ass trucks with 7+ year loans they can’t afford to take up two spots at the Walmart.

  10. If you want folding sights, Magpul Pro are nice. For fixed, I like the scalarworks. You may want to start with he optic / optic height first though and make sure they are the right height for what you want

  11. Exactly. I used to live near there and rode my motorcycle all over the place around there. This area is as country as it gets. Everyone knows everyone else and has for generations. The OP is the outsider and will always be viewed as such. There's a good reason why they always leave just in time. Theres also a good reason why rural appalachia has the reputation that it does. If they've been doing it for 30 years, their family has been doing it for 130 years.

  13. This big heavy b*stard poked his head out of the safe at me the other day so I thought I'd take him out, take a couple pics, and throw him up for sale just in time for Santa to deliver him to a new home. Egyptian Hakim 8mm mauser Clean specimen but it's not without its "character" which shows up on the stock more than anywhere else. Metal has tons of stamps and markings and a more knowledgeable collector of these can probably identify more about it than I can. It comes as you see it with 1 included magazine. Looking for $1250 cash Only single trade I'm looking for right now is a 1301 Tactical mod 2 ( yes, I'm aware there is one on here ) but I'm trying to get better about impulse buying (yes, I'm aware the humor in that statement if you know me ) I'm in east tn but occasionally find myself traveling to other parts of the state. Shipping it is possible but if you know this rifle you also know it ain't light lol. And with the holiday near shipping ANYTHING will be a PITA. More pics available for serious folks. I just snapped these quick before it went back into the safe. MERRY CHRISTMAS !

  16. I’m looking to add another birth year Marlin to the stable. The Model 1894 was re-released in 1969. I had one from 1976 but sold it recently. If anyone has one from 1969 they want to let go or if you hear of one or see one, please let me know.

  18. Hello Chattanooga locals. I am new to the area from FL. Just wanted to make a post to get to know everyone and possibly we can help each other out. I have a lot of experience in the firearms business and I work on my own guns. Lots of garage gunsmithing. I have some tools and experience with ARs. AKs. Glocks. SIG’s. And other platforms (more modern guns) if you need any help. I don’t have heavy machinery or a mill but I can help with the basic stuff. I work as an instructor and sales at Shooters Supply in Hixon TN but on my off time I’m always messing with guns. In FL I had lots of friends and connections and it was always easy to buy/sell/trade and help each other amongst friends and I would like to do the same here. if you ever have any questions or would like my opinion I’ve owned and shot most modern firearms just hit me up. im on the forums and IG as Foxjordan22

  19. If you aren’t using an optic, I’d suggest a fixed front sight at least. If you need it, you don’t want to forget to deploy the sights

  25. So my latest acquisition in the realm of lever guns is a Marlin model 1889 born in 1890. Octagonal barrel, chambered in the venerable.44-40. Looks to be all original. She is old but still shoots straight. The condition was a bit more rough than I thought it would be (the auction photos were dark), but a little TLC to the wood and some gentle work on the barrel and she looks better. The barrel and receiver are mostly now a dark brown patina (rust). The barrel was a little rough. Not wanting to hit it with sandpaper which could round the edges of the octagonal barrel, I took a chance and ran a Case Knife oil stone up and down the barrel flats with lots of oil, it worked like a charm.

  28. Not advocating ignoring reloading manuals, but a noted big time bullet supplier said lawyers complicate things. If your OAL compressed the powder charge it would be a different story, otherwise I wouldn't worry about a nominal change of length in standard loadings.

  35. I probably would too, but I wouldn’t be shooting .357s through it. In a small package like a Mdl 36, .38 spl is plenty. Even through a 3” .357 K-frame, most carry .38 rounds.

  36. Always liked Community, Hill Bros, or Eight o Clock medium roasts. I’ve had some exotic stuff that was great, but I’m just too tight to buy it regularly. I prefer to grind it as I use it, but the whole bean selection is getting scarce at stores locally.

  37. Don't have the BOG, I went with the Primos Trigger Tripod, but got this for it. Works pretty good with my PCP .22 rifle and backyard squirrels, but it feels hefty enough should take larger caliber as well.

  38. Do you have a positive ID on the culprit? Is he in fact a fireman? If so, contact his Chief and the Mayor of his town/county. Most cities/counties have an ethics clause in their employment rules that allows for termination for people who's actions bring dishonor to their department. He may think twice if his job is on the line.

  39. You know, this makes me wonder. The OP has stated that they have gotten more aggressive this last year. I wonder if they have been feeling emboldened by the decision that we all were happy about, and I still am, regarding the state constitutions private property protections, and the prohibition against utilizing open fields doctrine. I imagine that the TWRA would leap at the chance to place cameras with landowner consent to catch folks hunting illegally. if the ne’er do wells were to abscond with the TWRA’s cameras, I have to imagine that they would bring the hammer down with great vengeance and furious anger.

  40. Some cell cameras have gps location tracking. A picture will be sent to you phone just after the picture is taken. While the police may not arrest them, they will be under a bunch of pressure from everyone that pays their salary to stop. If they see the camera, they will destroy or take it. If they take the camera, you're golden. Use an air tag in each one. You'll want some cameras brushed in though. If they take a camera that normally doesn't have GPS, but dose have an air tag, they have committed crime that can be documented. Hopefully they take it home with them. If you use one for bate, make sure it's an older one without cellular service. The TWRA will also set cameras out for you if you give consent. If the local officer is not helping, call his LT. If that doesn't work call Nashville...every day...7 days a week.

  42. Well, it's not a firearm, but I'm still pround of it. I've long wanted an automotive hoist, but really didn't have a place to put it. So I finally put up another pole-building specifically to house a lift and give me some space to paint. I got a great deal on a used 12K hoist, but I spent something over $25K on the building, so penny-wise and pound foolish. Anyway, the hoist is now fully assembled and operational. I still have some dirt work to do outside, as the approach is a muddy mess right now. The hoist came with two bridge jacks, and both of those need some work, too. I'm never without plenty of chores and projects.
