  1. Well, it's not a firearm, but I'm still pround of it. I've long wanted an automotive hoist, but really didn't have a place to put it. So I finally put up another pole-building specifically to house a lift and give me some space to paint. I got a great deal on a used 12K hoist, but I spent something over $25K on the building, so penny-wise and pound foolish. Anyway, the hoist is now fully assembled and operational. I still have some dirt work to do outside, as the approach is a muddy mess right now. The hoist came with two bridge jacks, and both of those need some work, too. I'm never without plenty of chores and projects.

  3. There's a lot of back yard mechanics just dreaming of something like that. I know I'd have used it back in the day. Congrats on a fine addition.

  5. Please read ALL the details! This is NOT a regular American, although it mostly looks like one. Barreled action is from the compact model, so only 20" Stock is from the regular model, with AICS mag well & MDT 10 round mag & adjustable cheek riser installed. I had the chamber re-cut from standard to .223 Wylde & throated specifically to shoot heavier, long projectiles & take maximum advantage of the 1:8 twist. The bolt has been refinished & polished to get rid of the infamous 'zip-zip' noise. I also installed a beautiful Timney trigger that is hands down THE single nicest trigger I've ever tried. Dead on 2lb break with zero slop or creep. I can happily & easily put 30 rounds into a 1.25" 100yd group & it will maintain that accuracy of to 800yds I've got much, much more invested in the rifle than I'm asking, but I also understand that to most folk it's "just a Ruger American" I don't know my exact round count, certainly over 500, but well under 1000. The rifle WILL come with the rings but without the scope. The scope will be available with the rifle, or possibly after it sells. It's an SWFA 6x42 milquad with mil turrets. VERY highly sought after & has been unobtanium for a couple of years now. It won't hurt my feelings at all to keep it. I have 3 others & a spare couldn't hurt. $500 for the rifle, $400 for the scope.

  6. I bought this one new earlier this summer with plans on adding a scope and shooting the heck out of it but that never happened. It's still unfired and now ready for a new owner. I bought it at my local shop but included a screenshot below from KYGUNCO to show details if you want to research this particular model more. Feel free to PM with any questions. $550

  8. VPN’s can throw red flags to apps and websites, not many ways around it. Typically just have to deal with a captcha or something. I used to use a VPN pretty regularly but I rarely do now. All of our data and personal information is already out there, and no one is really hiding from big brother these days. The most important thing you can do is have complex, unique passwords for everything and a secure password manager. Also multifactor authentication for everything, preferably a method that’s not sms(text). Credit card masking is a good idea too.

  10. Looks great, the older you get the harder it is to crawl under a vehicle but a tractor isn’t too bad yet.

  16. I have this same gun and would not sell at this price. It will handle Ruger only loads in 45 Colt if you can hang on to it. It is also extremely accurate with 45 acp out to fifty yards. Great gun to have in your survival kit.

  19. Damn, you're caught between the liberals in Chicago and Minnesota. Tough spot to be in. Personally, I'd just keep them and keep quiet. Hang onto the estate papers and just go on with life.

  20. First, there is no registration requirement for firearms in TN. The executor may legally transfer any non NFA firearms to the named beneficiary without going through an ffl, as long as all state laws for both states are followed. In TN there is no state law requiring transfer through an ffl. As long as there is no state law in MN requiring it, you can just drive up and bring them back or ship them home to yourself. The fact that they are currently in a trust may or may not complicate matters. It may be best to consult an attorney concerning disposal of trust assets. ETA: Are you inheriting them or just taking possession in order to sell them? Because the latter would pretty much negate my above response. ETA 2: Are you and/or your wife a trustee or named beneficiary of the trust which owns the guns? If so, which?
