Just picked up one of these on a sale and wow I couldn’t be happier with the quality. Not something I will use very often but it’s solid as a rock. As with everything these days I feel quality goes down and price goes up. I felt like I got a real bargain on this at 129$ for something that feels so well put together. I waited a long time before buying one and I really wish I grabbed it sooner. If you are like me and have been on the fence I 100% vouch on this one. I don’t have the heaviest or lightest rifle deer rifle in the world (ruger American gen 2 6.5c) and this thing clamps down and i would really have to work knock it loose. Would be a nice way to mitigate some felt recoil for a young hunter too.2 points

Staccatto trademarked the 2011. So they theoretically are the only 2011 makers, everyone else is a doublestack 1911. https://trademarks.justia.com/855/56/2011-85556563.html2 points

I love Sako's. That is why I bought this even though I don't shoot this caliber. Since I never shoot this I thought I would pass it on to someone who would actually use it. It is a 1967 L61R Sako Finnbear in 338 Win Mag. Overall it is in great shape. The bore is nice and shiny. Another reason I bought this is because it had all of the original paperwork from when it was first ordered. Just made it a little more cool in my eyes. It also comes with period scope bases and a box of Hornady Precision Hunter ammo. Not really looking for trades right now. $1000 $9001 point

Two tone Kimber 1911 in 45ACP $600 Chattanooga area Kimber Custom Target II has the following upgrades: Kart Match barrel Thick barrel bushing 20 LPI front strap Flat Trik Trigger Ed Brown magwell Also two 7-round mags with base pad update 12/23/2024 Took out a few guns that I'm trying to sell to Mountain Top Gun Range, north of chattanooga, to check the accuracy and function of the guns since I haven't used them in years. I did a 5 shot grouping at approx 15 yards with the guns and the best I could do offhand was about 1.14" for all 5 shots (3" diameter sticky targets), however I was able to keep 4 rounds down to about 0.82". The gun is capable of higher accuracy, the limiting factor is definitely me. Being in my 50's my vision is not what it used to be and my hold is a bit more shakier than I remember. bullets used for testing were 200gr lswc with 5.2 gr of W231 test results from 12/23/20241 point

Finished the small deck I built for my wife last week and had some material left over. I had 2 outdoor tables I built out of treated pine 15 years ago. I got them up on the patio and took my high-pressure washer and cleaned the dirt and funk off them, then decided to rebuild them. The tops were 1 x 4 treated pine that had become pretty rough. If one was not careful you could get a splinter while using them. I took the old tops off and started my rebuild. My wife wanted one of them to use as a potting table. Both tables were 3' x3' in size. I took some 2x4 and widened one to 4' x 3'. I had some Trek flooring left so I used it to put a new top on her table. It turned out pretty good and she liked it. When the weather warms, in the spring, I am going to seal the old and new wood with Thompsons Water Seal and help prolong the table's lives. It cleaned up well and I had to replace some of the structure because a couple pieces had split and rotted. The other table was on my shooting range, and I have been using it out there for several years. It was in a little worse shape, but I decided to rebuild it also. As I tore the top off, I decided I wanted to widen it, and also put a rifle shooting side on it and make it multi use. I am right-handed so I extended the same side back an extra 18" and cut one of the side pieces of trek on a slant, starting at 6" going to 0" over the 18" length to allow me to get closer to the extended area when my Led Sled was sitting on the top of the table. I finished the last table today. I took my Sled and one of my rifles out today and the thing worked great. I can scoot right up to the sled and access the sights without being in a strain whatsoever. Actually, it is perfect when using the rifle and rest. I am totally surprised how well both tables had held up over the years. They have set on bare ground for their lifetimes. I only had to cut about 1" off the 4 legs, due to rot, which is great considering their life span was 15 years and they have never been sealed, not one time. I plan to take better care of them in the near future. The cost was minimal, and they should last until I don't need them any longer. Sometimes, one just hits a home run guys!1 point

Good evening. Up for sale tonight is a Smith and Wesson M&P chambered in 45acp. This beautiful pistol has seen very little use or action and is looking to find a new home where it will be loved, cared for, and fed a regular diet of 230 grain FMJ. This pistol has only 100-200 rounds through it and a simple physical exam will reveal very little if any wear. At this time of year it’s important to take care of those less fortunate than yourself. For a small, one time fee of $400 this little pistol (full size of course) can come to your home and know love, affection and the hands of a marksman who can hit bullseyes. What do you say? Are you willing to feed a poor little M&P this holiday season? If you do, I will include a black leather Galco holster. My gift to you as a thank you for helping these poor guns get the love, attention and full metal diet they so richly deserve. But wait, act quickly and you can get a crimson trace laser grip on the gun as well. A $200 value, yours free. Make a difference in a pistol today.1 point

That was my thinking. I have a bench for when I sight in my rifles but this will be nice when I just need to quickly check with a shot or 2 before I hunt after I travel. This saves me from having to bring the whole other setup which is more of a day of shooting type thing and takes up a ton more room in my truck in comparison.1 point

Agreed. Personal preference is key. I myself find red does everything I need it to.1 point

The clamp and rotational aspects are knobs with large handles so it doesn’t take much to get them tight. The legs are pressure clamps. Feet have rubber bases the tighten or loosen to expose the metal depending on shooting surface. The legs have 3 different locking positions at a 20,45, and 85 degree angle. I’m 6’4 and i have trouble with general items being tall enough but I can stand tall and shoot this without being hunched over.1 point

So I pretty much live my life shooting off a trypod. I've used tripods that run 2k+. While I don't use a bog pod or the $2K trypod, the bog pod will do 90% of everything that needs to be done from a trypod. If you've never used a trypod, it's amazing. My trypod is probably around $800ish for a small fraction of extra functionality. You'll be happy once you get used to it.1 point

Ended up with this on a trade deal, and thinking about moving it on. This serial numbers as S 1111xx, and from what research I've done, that would be a 1954, first year Highway Patrolman. It has some honest holster wear, and at some point has been ported, appears to be a Magnaport job but I don't know for sure. Grips are nice later Magnas, but are not the orginal diamond stocks. I haven't shot this one, lock up is good and tight and it has an excellent trigger like most old Smiths. Asking $950 in Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Lenoir City area. Trade interest would run towards a .44 mag or a nice pump or semi auto 12 gauge shotgun. I prefer wood stocks but I'm open to most stuff. Just let me know1 point

Up for sale is a 16" Colt M4 Carbine (LE6920) chambered in 5.55 with lots of upgrades. How much? $1,200 or best offer. What is the round count? 500 (ish) Any blemishes? Standard wear and tear. A few nicks around the trigger guard from the punch The receiver was rattle canned coyote tan at one time, but stripped back to the original black later. There may be some small specs of paint in a few corners, etc. Everything else is new and wasn't painted. What's in the box? 16" Colt M4 Carbine LE Prefix (6920) 1 30-round Magpul Gen 2 Pmag What parts are original and what is upgraded? Original: Colt LE6920 Lower Receiver Colt Upper Receiver BCG Buffer and Spring Colt 16" 1/7 twist barrel Upgraded: Magpul MOE Carbine Stock Primary Weapon Systems Enhanced Buffer Tube with Ratchet Lock Castle-nut and Endplate Breek Arms WARHAMMER Mod2 Ambi Charging Handle Strike Industries Extended Pivot & Takedown Pin Set Dirty Bird Ambidextrous safety selector Bravo Company BCM GUNFIGHTER Grip Mod 3 RISE Armament Rave 140 3.5 lb. Why sell such a great Rifle? Honestly, I really don't want to sell this, especially after Colt discontinued the LE models. But, according to my wife, I have "too many guns". While I don't think you can ever have too many, I am running out of space in the two guns safes, and all my other rifles are SBRs that have been Form 1'd (so selling them is much more complicated). I'm sure I'll kick myself in 10 years looking back at this. Looking for any trades? Not currently, just cash. What are your terms for sale? Face-to-face sales only - facilitated in the Mount Juliet, TN police department headquarters parking lot designation for person-to-person exchanges. This cuts down on scams and counterfeit cash deals. Must have valid TN Carry Permit. Must be legally allowed to purchase a firearm. Cash only. Email with any questions.1 point

This is the bottom line right here. Safety is paramount. Legal or not, if you endanger others, you're wrong. 20 years or so ago I was at a group shoot up in Missouri. We were on one guy's private property and using a large hill as a backstop. One of the neighbors came over and complained that bullets were flying over his property and were dangerously close to his house. Frankly, we thought he was full of it and just wanted to be a PITA. That hill was huge, no way it didn't stop every round. But, just to be sure, one of our guys went over and took a look. 10 minutes later he came running back yelling "Cease Fire!" The bullets were ricocheting off that rocky hill and were indeed landing on this man's property near his house. There was never the slightest doubt among any of us. We immediately stopped shooting and never used that area as a range again. Safety has always got to be the first consideration.1 point

The son dug an old series 70 Colt gubmt model out of the safe the other evenin and I handled it for a while. It re- reminded me how great they are. I went ahead and rounded me up a Fusion Freedom ( gubt with good sights, beaver tail, n skeletonized hammer ) to shoot a bit. I finally took it out the other day n shot it. I like it alot, the problem is my 78 year old hands are wearing out. I'm letting the pistola twist in my grip a bit, and it ain't lockin the slide back on the last round. I like the Fusion alot, I just need a bit more wrist n hand strength. I'ma guessin that that trip was the first time in 40 years I've shot one. They are a great pistola, plenty of power and an extra good trigger. There ain't nothing like a gubt model... leroy...1 point
