  1. Henry model H012GRCC. Purchased around a year ago. It shoots great , trigger has Ranger point precision sear for awesome trigger. I didn't get a chance to hunt with it, to old to get around, but you can. This rifle has just a few sighting in rounds through it and pretty much as you'd see it NIB. But I don't have the box, just the end flap. I have added the Henry scope mount. Please direct questions or comments to PM, rather than confuse the ad. Henry is 100% Lifetime guarentee by the Factory, and their motto is: "Made in America, or not made at all." Also, have a leupold 1.5 x 4 scope, which is also available, for $200., either way the Henry scope mount goes with the Carbine. . ,

  3. We sent Parker 300.00 for his 16th birthday. Wife said it was a special b-day. His dad called me last week and told me Parker used his b-day money to purchase a 12 Ga Mossberg Pump 3 1/2' chamber with a 28" brl and 3 screw in chokes to hunt ducks etc. It was on a Xmas sale for 199.00 + tax at their local gun store. Great purchase!

  4. I have ridden/driven the complete length a couple times. South to North on a motorcycle, North to South on a motorcycle, North to South via truck, and partial South to North via truck. The rides were for my own enjoyment. The car trips were work related where I had to get down toward South Mississippi for work and had to the time to take it and stay off the interstates. The North end is very scenic and curvy, lots of pull offs and stops at points of interest. I would frequently stop and hike a small side trail for 10 or 15 minutes to stretch my legs. The South end is very pretty. Tree canopy over the road with filtered sunlight like driving through a tunnel. Spanish moss hanging from the trees. Very old south and peaceful. The middle is like the mid west, fly over. Not much to see, the road is pretty straight and boring, the views are nothing special, the side trips are sparser. There is a ton of wild life on the road, be extremely vigilant, especially near dusk and dawn. No hunting on any of this land and the deer, turkey, and associated small game have gotten the memo. You will see groups of 5, 10, or 15 animals just a few yards from the road and you will see that every 75 to 100 yards for miles. There are some areas in North Mississippi that are nice side trips, especially just west near the Holly Springs National Forest. I went off the trace to do some off road riding in that area and had a blast.

  6. If it is in fact caulk, you might try braided fishing line with cross sticks tied on each end as "T" handles you can saw your way through it like a garrote, OK maybe I could have used a better analogy.

  8. Got drawn for a tag this year. Was hunting just outside Dayton in Rhea county. The birds were flying great this morning. We all limited out by 9. We would finished earlier if we didn’t suck at shooting. lol. You would think such a large bird would be easy to hit.

  9. I saw this came out a couple of days ago and has got my interest, especially at $350 online (plus shipping and transfer). For this price, it seems like a great value, optic ready, front night sight, interchangeable grip module. Has any one picked one up? https://ruger.com/products/rxm/specSheets/19400.html

  14. Like everyone else has said, the Tennessee section is best. I have ridden the whole distance on bicycle 3 times. We carried our camping gear on the bikes and averaged 60 miles a day. To me the best way to go. Car and motorcycle trips are good too but as you go farther south it becomes flat and not as scenic. Several free campgrounds (no hookups for RVs) on the Trace along the way but no showers. You would have to get off and go into towns for more comfortable accommodations.

  15. +1 to all of the above. There's a great little coffee shop in Collinwood called the Dragonfly. I'm not a coffee drinker but they have other good non-coffee frozen drinks and some fantastic baked goods. Tupelo, MS makes for a good place to stop for the night. There's not a ton there but it does have some interseting Elvis stuff and a few good restaurants and local shops. It's a cute little town.

  16. I rode the TN side numerous times on solo my motorcycle and in the Jeep with the family with the top down. It was nice. We stopped at most of the stops to see the sites. I went the full length with a couple of friends on motorcycles once. We fueled up our bikes and bellies in Tupelo, but got stuck between exits in a downpour within a few miles. By the time we found shelter we were soaked to the bone, so we just rode wet the rest of the way in the rain since we were already wet. It was still fun. The best parts of the trip were seeing the Spanish moss in trees once we got far enough south and on the way to check LA off our list we found a great seafood restaurant called Roux 61. It was awesome!

  17. We are close and will drive the northern sections several times a year. We also hit some of the hiking trails. It’s a nice drive with no road reflector posts or power lines along the way.

  21. Absolutely worth the trip! Lots of history associated with it. Meriwether Lewis is buried near Hohenwald with a small monument and museum there. The iron mines are interesting for a quick look. The "old trace drive" and several old trace walking sections give a sense of what it was like back in the day. It was an important overland route since way before white people sailed over. There's a visitors center in Mississippi near tupelo. The gem of the trip is the nature. There's every kind of hike from paved paths to no path at all. Water falls, state parks, River Access with awesome fishing are around every turn in the Tennessee section. Off the top of my head near here there's Devils Backbone state natural area, Laurel Hill wildlife management area, Meriwether Lewis State Park and Jackson falls right along the trace. It's best done in an rv with bikes for side trips, ebikes even better. Take your hiking boots, binoculars and paper maps. Cell service is spotty. Have fun!

  22. Driven the Parkway from Franklin to Natchez. Camped in RV along the way. Natchez is worth the trip alone if you want a peaceful scenic slow drive in the country. TN is great with lots of pullouts however you can leave the parkway to explore some of the towns while going in the boring parts (N Miss) if you have an adventurist spirit, and time. I would say go for it. Lots to see along the way. Did our trip in the spring. My advice, take some safety gear (EDC) with you because you are secluded on lots of the pullouts and hikes.

  25. We, my family made a day on the TN portion of it a few years back. We stopped and hiked almost all the trails to the waterfalls and observations spots. It’s was October so it wasn’t hot and made for an enjoyable experience. If y’all like the outdoors I’d recommend it. I wish I had brought binoculars, because there was lots of wildlife to view.

  26. Ladies and gentlemen. This one hurts my heart to sell. This is my deer rifle of the last couple years. This rifle has nothing wrong with it in any sense and is still actively my go to rifle for hunting. A 16” Aero Precision upper (heavy barrel profile CMV) paired with a lower I assembled personally. PSA stripped lower with Aero LPK except for trigger and bolt release which are Geissele SSA and Maritime. The buttstock is a magpul CTR and the Optic is a Primary Arms SLX LPVO 1-8. Obviously the optic and buttstock are painted from where they were on another build (last deer rifle). So, here is my pricing proposal. If you buy the gun as is (including Blue Force Tactical sling) I’m asking $900. I have $1,350 in the firearm but I recognize painting has a cost. If you want just the firearm without the optic- $750. If you want just the upper - $450. Im not interested in trades except for potentially a Geissele super duty or a Galil Ace Gen 2. Both in 556. I am always willing to hear reasonable offers.

  27. Good evening. Up for sale tonight is a Smith and Wesson M&P chambered in 45acp. This beautiful pistol has seen very little use or action and is looking to find a new home where it will be loved, cared for, and fed a regular diet of 230 grain FMJ. This pistol has only 100-200 rounds through it and a simple physical exam will reveal very little if any wear. At this time of year it’s important to take care of those less fortunate than yourself. For a small, one time fee of $400 this little pistol (full size of course) can come to your home and know love, affection and the hands of a marksman who can hit bullseyes. What do you say? Are you willing to feed a poor little M&P this holiday season? If you do, I will include a black leather Galco holster. My gift to you as a thank you for helping these poor guns get the love, attention and full metal diet they so richly deserve. But wait, act quickly and you can get a crimson trace laser grip on the gun as well. A $200 value, yours free. Make a difference in a pistol today.

  28. I used to live a few miles from the northern start of the Trace. It was my 'therapy' motorcycle ride. I could leave the house and be slowly cruising some beautiful scenery in minutes. It's a nice drive for the scenery - at least the northern part.

  29. Yep. If it is construction adhesive, it'd be fastest to just cut that drywall out and replace it. Sanding it down would be tedious.

  30. This was my first thought as well. I can see a Loctite brand adhesive or similar holding up a sink but most caulk does well to hold itself to a surface much less a fixture to the wall.

  31. I think I’d try a scraper blade on a reciprocating tool. Then a solvent like above to remove the residue that’s left. Are you sure it’s caulk and not construction adhesive?

  35. After talking to my wife's uncles, they recall the gun always looking like this. I'm wondering if it may have always looked like this? For the time being I think I will clean it well and do nothing. In a side note. One of the uncles told me that he had his dad's rifle that he captured and brought back, but didn't have any paperwork for it. He said that it is duffle cut and that his dad took it from a German officer. I suspect the P-38 may have belonged to the same officer. He didn't have specifics on the rifle, but I'm hoping to learn more about it.

  39. I haven't fired one but did get to handle, dry fire, and take the slide off of one and "look under the hood" yesterday. The range was busy, so just a quick look. It's very "Gen 3 Glock" like. The grip feels good to me, but I long ago shortened and modified my well worn G19 and this Ruger is very similar. The trigger is good for a Glock-like trigger, Smooth and no glitch, moderately short reset. ETA. I shoot factory Glock triggers fwiw. A lot of the parts looks interchangeable with Glock. I definitely like the sights. All metal instead of the Glock placeholders, good sized and clear to see with my aging eyes. Definitely like these sights. The slide has plenty of holes to accommodate a RDS. From what I've seen online with various RDS mounted there is a need for a quality adapter as the slide does not support a RDS fore and aft. (My slides are milled so I'm biased). Hopefully one will go into the rental rotation soon and I'll get to shoot one. It has potential. But I've been disappointed before LOL Time will tell.
