  2. I know from experience how much better (and colder) you feel! I did the same thing with compounded semaglutide at my doctor's recommendation (no insurance) & dropped from 285 to 205, 44" waist to 34. I'm sure your doc already told you, but before you reduce your dosage, start making a food journal. Literally write down every single thing you eat. As you come down, refer back to your journal & treat it like a recipe book. It's really, really easy to add an extra ounce or two of food, here & there without even realizing. Stay strong Bill! The effort is absolutely worth it! It does get kinda spendy buying new clothes though, doesn't it?!

  3. Updated 12/13/2024. Just got a text from Kathy and Jim passed away this morning. AuEagle (Jim) has been fighting some serious health issues for the last year or so. He fell recently and broke his hip. He has not been able to bounce back from the fall and surgery with everything else going on. He went into hospice last week. He hadn't responded to my texts the last couple of days so I knew something was up. I just spoke to his wife this morning and he doesn't have long left. Please keep him and his wife Kathy in your prayers for a peaceful passing. Jim and I have been friends for many years and I was at his house just a couple of months ago. He told me then he was at peace and ready whenever God called him home. The fall was unexpected and basically just moved the timeline up some. It's been a tough couple of weeks. Another dear friend who was my office manager for years and a 2nd momma to me found out she had brain cancer 4 months ago. She went into hospice yesterday. I visited with her this morning. I am always amazed how fast an illness can move. This is a reminder to tell the people important in your life what they mean to you now. Things can change in the blink of an eye.

  4. Today it is hard to say goodbye to the best little dog ever….Bella, our toy maltipoo crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday afternoon after church. Sweet girl, you were such a good girl, and you will always be in our hearts. I know we gave you the best life we could, and had 15 long, wonderful years with you!! I can honestly say, I don't cry very much, but I cried hard last night. She was our first baby, and gave comfort on so many nights when things were rough, not to mention we grew up together. My wife and I were 21 when we got her, and she has been there through so many up and downs. Hug your pups extra tight tonight.

  6. For those that have not met me I have always been a pretty big guy. One of my favorite sayings was I was not recoil sensitive. I have been over 300 lbs for the last 15-18 years. At my heaviest I was 419 lbs but for the last 5-6 years I have been around 380-390 lbs. With the help of my wife I finally decided to have weight loss surgery. So last year I started working with Vanderbilt to get ready for the surgery. Then I find out that my insurance will not cover it. I can still do the surgery but it would be 21-23K out of pocket. That was kinda a kick to the nuts so I stopped thinking about weight loss for the rest of last year. I was talking to my doctor at my annual physical in February of this year and he suggested I try the weekly shots like Mounjaro or Ozempic. These would have 2 benefits for me. One it would help control my A1c(blood sugar) and help with weight loss. So I took my first shot on February 15th. For the first 2 months I was on Mounjaro. Then there was a national back order and could not get it. So no shot for month 3. He then switched me to Ozempic for month 4 and I have been on that since then. This has been the only medicine I have taken that has made me not want to eat. This medicine works differently for everybody. I have been pretty lucky because I have had only minimal side effects and have lost a lot of weight. In the last 10 months I have lost 150.6 lbs. I went from 380.2 lbs 2/15/24 to 229.6 lbs 12/12/24. I have been seeing my doctor every 3 months while I have been taking this medicine. One other benefit beside the weight loss is that the doc has taken me off my blood pressure medicine. He is also considering taking me off most of my other medicine because my bloodwork is coming out so good. The hard part is going to be starting soon though. Maintenance. I have finally gotten in the habit of eating less. I just have to make sure I do not revert back to my old habits once the doctor starts reducing my dosage. One of thew worst side effects of lasing weight is being constantly cold. I use to rarely wear a coat. If it was above freezing I was in short sleeves. Now I wear long sleeves in the house. I bet I have worn more sweatshirts and coats in the last 2 months than I have in the last 10 years. For visual reference I went from this: To this:

  8. God is faithful in His mercy and salvation. "Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints." --Psalm 116:15. Jim trusted in Jesus to bring him eventually to His eternal reward. That's comforting to all who keep the same hope.

  11. This is the bottom line right here. Safety is paramount. Legal or not, if you endanger others, you're wrong. 20 years or so ago I was at a group shoot up in Missouri. We were on one guy's private property and using a large hill as a backstop. One of the neighbors came over and complained that bullets were flying over his property and were dangerously close to his house. Frankly, we thought he was full of it and just wanted to be a PITA. That hill was huge, no way it didn't stop every round. But, just to be sure, one of our guys went over and took a look. 10 minutes later he came running back yelling "Cease Fire!" The bullets were ricocheting off that rocky hill and were indeed landing on this man's property near his house. There was never the slightest doubt among any of us. We immediately stopped shooting and never used that area as a range again. Safety has always got to be the first consideration.

  33. Everything starts with a great antenna. Best radio in the world will never overcome a bad antenna. Most get caught up overthinking Antennas. Simple can be better. Walt's YouTube channel is one of the best about antennas and getting on the air. He keeps it simple and doesn't get all up in the hype. I've made more antennas since watching his channel than ever before. https://youtube.com/@coastalwaveswires?si=MgtCE9zHJU2J7k4_

  44. There's a difference between a 3-D printed gun and an 80% build. This gun looks like a P80 to me. And no one has explained how you can 3-D print a threaded steel barrel on a home 3-D printer. No photo of silencer yet; I'm guessing because it, despite police claims, it wasn't 3-D printed. It was just home-built, like the home-built silencers for which plans are available all over the internet. But it's important to cops and anti-gunners to demonize 3-D printing of weapons, which is why the phony claims of 3-D printing in this case are so numerous.
