I managed to shoot a buck I've been following on camera all year. He's not a monster, but I can't resist a quirky non-typical! First got him in camera in late June & as he sprouted, I could tell he was going to be cooler than average. By the time he was full & in velvet I knew that he would take up my concentration. I managed to luck into him on Thanksgiving around lunchtime & put a 77gr Tipped Matchking through him at 124yds. I stripped & cleaned him myself & finished him drying yesterday, for a simple euro mount.3 points

It sounds crazy and unrealistic, but it also could be completely plausible if this was his entire plan. Which is more likely: a. Dude is upset with the health care system, wants to do something, wants to make a statement, wants to be a martyr, and maybe (likely) has some mental illness. or b. The “government” or some other shadow organization killed the CEO, then somehow convinced an innocent dude who looks like the killer, to dress like him, get photographed, then sit in a. McDonald’s while carrying the murder weapon and other evidence.2 points

His "range" is 2 feet off of the plaintiffs property line in one direction and 150 feet in another. He is routinely sending bullets into the plaintiff's property and simply saying "No I'm not, prove it, I guarantee this is safe." The "giant" hill he is shooting into has an 8 degree rise over 150 feet. The plaintiffs own and frequently use the top of the hill. Their house is on top of the hill. His berm is grossly inadequate to contain rounds on his 1 acre piece of property. And he frequently shoots into the hill and not even at his berm. He seems convinced that his bullets just go into the dirt and denies the risk of skips off this low rise hill. He gave the plaintiffs no option but to pursue civil or criminal charges. He is lucky it was civil.2 points

Today it is hard to say goodbye to the best little dog ever….Bella, our toy maltipoo crossed over the rainbow bridge yesterday afternoon after church. Sweet girl, you were such a good girl, and you will always be in our hearts. I know we gave you the best life we could, and had 15 long, wonderful years with you!! I can honestly say, I don't cry very much, but I cried hard last night. She was our first baby, and gave comfort on so many nights when things were rough, not to mention we grew up together. My wife and I were 21 when we got her, and she has been there through so many up and downs. Hug your pups extra tight tonight.1 point

12-14 years ago I had a place in Blount County (Happy Valley) (which is WAY out in the middle of nowhere) and had a range in the back yard which was totally safe. I was shooting one day and a deputy pulled up. He was friendly and explained that someone had called in that someone (me) was target shooting and he just needed to make sure I was being safe. He looked at my setup and approved. We then talked guns for a little while and he departed. Later found out from another neighbor that there was a guy down the road that made a practice of calling the law anytime he heard a gun shot. They showed up a couple of other times as well and I got the feeling that they were a bit annoyed about the call, but never gave me any issues.1 point

I had the same problem about 15 years ago. Someone down the road was shooting and bullets occasionally bounced off my neighbor's house and mine. He found a .40 S&W bullet in his driveway. We called BCSO and an officer stopped by to talk to us. He told us to call anytime we heard gun fire. If they had someone available, they'd come investigate and let us know the results. Maybe a month or so later, the deputy stopped back by and told us he'd found the source and they were using an unacceptable backstop. They were required to correct the backstop. They did and it hasn't happened since. We still hear gun fire occasionally, so the shooting hasn't stopped. Every time I've been shooting on private property where houses are within earshot, a sheriff's deputy has come by to make sure we're being safe. Our interactions have always been pleasant.1 point

Maybe it would make more sense to just make a calm explanation of the situation. I think that most of us here are very interested in SAFE firearms use. I shoot on my own property, and so do some of my neighbors. But I definitely expect that my neighbors will be sure of where their rounds are falling, just as I am. It sounds like you have a legitimate concern, but stating that we should "fire on your neighbor" is gross hyperbole.1 point

I’ve been rolling through his Twitter feed and I gotta tell you, do not believe the reports that are describing him as an “anti-capitalist leftist“ because they are way off base. His vastly critical of corporate power, but to conflate being anti-corporate monopoly with being anti-capitalist is disingenuous at best. I see no inherent conflict between being anti-government central planning of the economy and being anti-corporate Monopoly control of the economy. They’re both coercive authoritarian means of exploiting the wider population for the benefit of a relative few. it appears that he suffered a really gnarly back injury, and I would expect went more than a few rounds with his insurance. This seems personal as well as political.1 point

Someone wanted him caught. They maybe even paid him to be caught.1 point

I'm not sure if you are like me, but my favorite handgun I currently have is a Les Baer Mono, beautiful gun in every aspect and it shoots so smoothly. Since I prize this gun so much, I only take it out for special occasions. Not wanting to over use my favorite gun I bought a SpringField TRP and it has now become my second favorite and most used gun for me when I go out shooting. Are there people out there with the same mind set? If so, let us see what it is1 point

Looks like an M-60 machinegun. Weighed 23 and a 1/2 lbs Had to have an assistant gunner who carried the spare barrel & a can of 7.62mm ammo Was told that the average life expectancy of an M-60 gunner was about 8 seconds during a fire-fight. I have no idea how they calculated such a thing.1 point
