  3. The video seems to show a Glock or similar running a suppressor minus a Nielsen device, which would cause the failure to cycle properly. I would pose the idea that maybe the shooter planned it exactly as it happened, opting to run a cheap burner/disposable setup with the minimum needed to do the task at hand. Glock with threaded barrel and an inexpensive suppressor minus the Nielsen device. It would also explain why he didn't seem ruffled by the failure to cycle. He may have practiced it and knew full well that the gun wasn't going to run smoothly and accepted that to keep things simple.

  4. The assassin was not new to guns. He cleared the malfunction smoothly, and did so what appears to be several times, while closing the gap and continuing to put rounds into the victim. I work with my church safety team, and help lead range sessions, and I see people's own OODA loops get screwed up badly when we either intentionally introduce a malfunction or they suffer one out of sheer bad luck. If you don't practice malfunction drills, you don't look like this guy did.

  15. All that really matters this week is the seeding in the playoffs, not the AP poll. Texas and Penn St. only dropped 2 spots in the AP, but fell to the 5 and 6 seeds and lost the bye. That hurts. As for Alabama, Clemson sealed their fate. I'm somewhat surprised the committee picked SMU. Money talks and Alabama means eyeballs-on-advertisements and SMU doesn't. I think SMU earned a chance this year and 'Bama really didn't but I'm still surprised. Maybe they didn't want to get rotten vegetables thrown at them if they'd put SEC and Big 10 teams in 2/3rds of the slots of the first ever playoffs ostensibly sold as a way to give teams outside the SEC and Big10 a shot. 7 out of 12 was as far as they'd go. ASU in the #4 spot and the bye isn't a surprise. They won a Power 4 championship with a blow out. If SMU hadn't Vandy'd up the ACC finish with Clemson, I think SMU would have the 4 seed. I'd have liked Boise St. in the 4 seed, but Big-12 > MW.

  24. We have had some good discussions on add ons to EDC pistols so I thought we could discuss some of the basics. I have my basic points on what is a good carry piece, I'm sure it won't be a complete checklist and to cover all of the details of every point would be too long. But I'm sure we'll cover it along the way. I'm sure there will be some behind the scenes gaffawing and that's ok. What I need to consider a pistol acceptable for personal defense. Fit - it must fit well. in the hand, in your wardrobe, in your lifestyle. but to me how it fits in the hand. When I grip a pistol it should naturally fall into the straight line between the elbow and the end of my pointed trigger finger. Balance - It should sit in my hand in firing position with a loose grip. This has fallen off of most shooters radar as we moved from revolver to auto loader but is still relevant in my opinion. Weight - I prefer the heaviest pistol that I can comfortably carry. Weight helps tremendously with follow up shots. I have of late been going back to a full/mid sized piece since my EDC for quite a while has been a KelTec P32. This is due to wardrobe lifestyle issues. Reliability - If it malfunctions once in 100 rounds and cannot be remedied, I won't carry it. 100% is what I bet my life on. Comfort - Am I comfortable with caliber, round count, aforementioned weight. Is it concealable. Accuracy - Let's be real here. Stats say defensive encounters are about 7 yards, I could put a case of rounds in an FBI Q at 7 yards with the worst pistol I've ever shot. Practice - Practice, Practice, MORE PRACTICE. nothing beats more rounds down range. these all overlap and I couldn't pick any as most important. everything is a trade off, if we knew we for certain we needed a gun we'd take a rifle or stay home. That is a generalization as one might choose a handgun for maneuverability or concealment)

  30. You should have been standing by when I had my second hernia repair. The surgeon called that one. I was supposed to be in prep when they decided I didn't need to stay in the hospital. Three of us on the phone giving them hell. I went outside to make my call so the intake people didn't have to hear me.

  33. Those people are so full of ! Why are they so focused on the gun? If you watch, the shooter uses a standard hand over rear of slide to cycle the gun. The gun is obviously some type of standard 9mm with a suppressor. Is there not one real gun expert available to them? And what Veterinarian uses a 9mm? I guess they need to fill time with something since the cops can't find the shooter.

  34. Up for sale is my Brand New, strait from TTI Sand Viper. As you can see it still has the factory grease on the gun. Price is firm at $7100. This gun will have to be transferred through an FFL or I can ship to an FFL of your choosing for $25. I will consider trades on Factory Engraved Colts, Engraved Colt Single Actions, Colt Single Actions with Ivory, and Angelo Bee Engraved Firearms. Thanks!

  36. I am one of those weird guys that overthinks everything and when I was looking at this, I couldn’t help but wonder if they make an attachment for a linked ammo container and oh… oh they do… in case anyone wants to buy this gun. I wish I could but I’m not that gangster with my wallet… yet. Below is a link to the mag well attachment for the person who gets to have my dream of hearing my wife say “we have a SAW at home” if you get that joke we can be friends https://fightlite.com/mcr-magazine-adapter

  37. The money potential from Alabama going to Notre Dame in the first round of the expanded CFP is too good to pass up. Anytime someone thinks the CFP is supposed to be all for merit, I remind them to think of the CFP as television executives before anything else, and their choices make a lot more sense.

  38. i have that holster from outpost for my 48. it has good retention and rides good. my only complaint is the belt loop wings are pretty wide so it limits positioning on your belt.

  39. It’s not that we can’t picture it, it’s that we see the picture and we see the price and and we get excited. That seems like a great deal. And that’s because it is, but then we see the accessories are not included. But again, it’s totally fine, but it’s generally accepted to include the price of everything shown. It just leaves you as a bad taste in your mouth, but that’s more of a marketing thing, that’s all I’m saying. Also, that’s a Razor and an RMR in a Badger Ordinance mount. I’d have more faith in my gear that it’s not going to lose zero. But you do your thing man. Good luck with the sale. It’s a sweet rifle as she sits. Just trying to offer some advice on how to get it moving. The more expensive it is the harder you've got to work to sell it.
