Well that's my thought anyway, especially in 9mm. Increases noise especially under a roof, building, car, etc. Increases muzzle flash. If added on, increases barrel length. Increased liklihood of malfunction. Increases debris and need for cleaning. Especially a concern if shooting from retention which may be likely in SD situations. This can result in hot gasses in face, possibly metal debris from lead or jacketed bullets. A likely decrease in velocity and even moreso in short barreled firearms. Well that's just for starters and given the rather minimal recoil produced by 9mm.....unneccessary.3 points

Add this, modify that and poof, you'll shoot better! Same message, different spin. This message ain't so sexy: Get a qualify firearm, holster, belt and ammo, invest in a bit of quality training and poof, you'll shoot better.3 points

I've got a brand new HK SL8-6 that I modified with some G36 parts. I believe this is the way they needed to be made. Comes with everything shown in the pictures, orginal SL8-6 Buttstock assembly and SL8-6 Handguard, HK Case, Four HK SL8-6 10rnd Mags. $2975 CASH FTF. I live in the Whitehouse area and can meet locally around Goodlettsville, Hendersonville, Gallatin and Nashville area. I can drive halfway if your further than listed to make the deal. I would consider possibly partial trades plus cash. I'm interested in S&W Pre-lock Revolvers, Bolt Guns in 308, 1911's Colt Springfield Armory possibly Wilson. Please PM me for possible trade or if you need some other pictures. 1-New HK SL8-6 Rifle, 20"Bbl 2- HK G36 Folding Stock 3- HDPS SL8/G36 Folding Stock Block Conversion 4- B&T Burgger and Thomet G36 Quad Rail. These are Swiss made for the G36. 5- Tommy Built G36 AR Style Lower that takes AR Trigger Group 6- Geissele SD-E Flat Trigger Group. This is a big improvement over the stock SL8-6 trigger that was close to 8lbs the Geissele SD-E breaks at 3.15lbs. 7- Magpul Bi-Pod2 points

Agreed. I shot a friend’s comped G48 last weekend and the meager gain in control was offset by the LOUD report. I think most people who claim it’s a huge gain probably just need to fix their grip.2 points

Country music is alive and well. It just isn’t on tv or radio. If you do a bit of digging, you can uncover some very talented folks.2 points

I grew up on folks like Johnny, Merle, Waylon, Willie, Loretta and Tammy. Still love their stuff today. But I gave up on country music somewhere in the 90s. The stuff they make now sounds more like bad pop music. Country music has lost its soul.2 points

OH, I would be hesitant about factory seconds. But that's only as long as I can get primers at a semi-reasonable price. I would never say never,2 points

I've been using SA primers (Small pistol) for better than a year now, several thousand in both 9mm Glocks and all manner of S&W and LCR revolvers. .38 spl. .357 and .32 S&W long and .32 H&R mag. They work great. I've seated them on my Dillon and with my Lee single stage press without problems. FWIW all of my Smith Revolvers have either standard or Wolff standard powder rib mainsprings. Of course the LCR's set off pretty much anything anyway. I have a buddy back in Louisiana that has had good experiences with Ginex. I haven't tried them. I've purchased a fair amount of either pulled or blemished 9mm bullets from American Reloading, but no primers. But I'm tempted to try some Ginex. American Reloading ships their bullets fast, no extra charge and by FedEx. Good solid company from my experiences.2 points

I bought this in November 2012, when I was planning on becoming a great competitive shooter, like in three gun. Though this rifle is marketed as a competition rifle, it was on the heavy side for the run and gun style matches I was attending. Consequently, I haven't shot it much, maybe 1000 rounds? Always functions flawlessly and is way more accurate than I could ever be. Since I retired it from competing, I added a Nikon 4x12 scope. I machined a scope mount from a different rifle to mount to the underside of the free float rail to mount the inexpensive UTG bipod. Has a lot of really nice features, from the factory, which are described in this ad from Buds Gun Shop: https://www.budsgunshop.com/product_info.php/products_id/75787/dpms+3g1+ar-15+.223+rem+5.56+nato+semi+auto+rifle First 900$ takes this panther home! Meet at my house on Brewer drive, 37211. Not interested in shipping or trades. Thanks!1 point

How many CMA type awards shows do they have a year now? It being aired on a Wednesday night speaks volumes on this edition’s relevance.1 point

I'm not a fan of all the cuts in slides either. Great way to get a bunch of junk in the gun. I know the argument about keeping the gun clean, but I've also had an unintentional ejection from a little boat in a angry river. On a competition gun, I say go for it all.1 point

I think Titegroup is a decent powder personally Bill. My preferences are W 231, Unique, and Bullseye. But I'm happy to have any usable powder these days. I have loads that I worked up using Tiegroup and several other powders for 9mm, .38 spl, and .32 H&R Mag/Spl as these are the rounds/calibers I shoot the most. Having options is always a good thing.1 point

Thanks Jamie, I’ve been using Titegroup as an alternative (I can find it). I know it’s not everyone’s favorite but it works pretty well for me.1 point

@BigK I believe that was David (Mosley?) (DLM or DLM37015). There's some discussion about him in another thread. Great guy and very knowledgeable. Lot's of good folks in this thread: https://www.tngunowners.com/forums/topic/133656-762x39-gunpowder/#comment-1744353 @Bill P I haven't seen much of any Alliant Powder for a while now. And $40.00 - $50.00 + for pound when you do see it. And that's usually with Hazmat/shipping or some sort of extra. I have a few pounds left from the more reasonably priced days and delegate it to specific favored .38 loads.1 point

Yes. as indicated the Vest Pocket Model came out in 1908. The Colt Junior aka Astra Cub didn't come around until the 1960s. It also has an external hammer making them easy to tell apart. OP has a nice gun there. Somebody should buy it.1 point

It's all about the holster. I would choose a less common carry method with a great holster than a more typical method with a bad holster.1 point

A good friend of mine who I would say has more professional experience with guns than I do switched to LTT spaghetti shooters a few years ago and seems to have completely sworn-off Glocks as a result. I keep telling myself to stay away from them. Nice piece!1 point

I can't put my finger on the difference in terms of the Langdon trigger job. I know it's lighter and smoother than my M9A1, I'm a better shot with it and the entire gun just seems better than the stock M9 I have. I'm sure that it's because I focus on it but I swear my DA shot is always my best - at least the first one in any given session.1 point
